...currently drive a purple R-Reg Ford Escort Calypso Cabriolet. Just to clear this up at the outset, I am not and never have been a hairdresser.
On hot summer days like this, there is nothing better than the joys of open-top motoring. Even commuting to work on the M4 or being stuck in a jam on the North Circular are enjoyable if you have the wind in your hair or can at least feel the rays of sun on your face ane arms.

I told them where to stick their bill and tried the DIY approach - a can of Ford gunk into the hydraulic reservoir with the aid of a kitchen funnel, and a couple of manual operations of the roof to clear the jam. Advantages: they are a great car for summer they are easy to maintain nd really cheap to buy Disadvantages: they rust as all fords do
welll last year i traded my astra for a cabby it was mint roof down music uo sunshine wha more cud u want but dont think they dont come without problems if u dnt look after them the roof will leak car will rust as fords r known for it nd you'll get a wet backside lol
but other than that they are solid cars very comfortable nd quick for a 1.6 lol so if u gonna buy one get a secound hand one they cheper nd just as gd dont pay silly money just casue ...

I own a Ford Escort 1.6i Cabriolet, and she is beautiful.
She is a H Reg so getting on a bit now but she still turns heads while out driving in the summer. Roof down she is smart, sexy and so much fun. Roof up she feels just like a normal car, no rain, wind or cold getting in under her tightly fitted hood. Advantages: Lovely to drive Disadvantages: Body part MAY be difficult to find
I have a 1994 1.6. I have had it now for 5 months and use it daily. Fuel consumption is very good and it has been very realiable. I find it very comfortable to drive and accomodates a family of 5 easily, it is spacious. Although you do lose some boot space as compared to a hatchback, but I feel this is due to the room needed for the hood when folded and strenghtning of the vehicle. Body parts are slightly difficult to come by, which may be due to ... ...many owner clubs is a gods send as the others will help. Not all hoods leak, if the hood is fitted correctly and the seals, then you should be ok. And against popular belief, I believe that they are not ice boxes in the winter. Yes they are slightly colder than a 'tin top' but its not a disadvantage. I feel that road handling is very good, I travel some miles on motorways. ...
