...huge advantage that my the Ford has! But...... Steering?
The Car handles fairly well, I’ve been in worse, but what lets the handling down is the amount of weight the car has on a corner. I mean that when turning a corner, the car doesn’t lean that much, but it’s dead heavy on the wheel.
The tyres take a burn from the heavy steering, turning corners at 40-50mph can even be enough to attack your nose with the smell of burning tyres.
... ...out that night.... so night for now...... Zzzzzz! Zzzzzz!

I wake up and see that the sun is already awake, it looks like it’s gonna be a good day! With a good 200 miles ahead, my thoughts were good, my stomach was sickly and my head was pounding...a previous Friday night!

Advantages: Looks, Performance Disadvantages: Lack of Ford Dealership Support
...one downside being lack of Ford Dealership help... dont count on it.. they just dont want to know about performance cars anymore.. seems they would rather play with diesels than real cars.
Possibly another downside is the fact that the power you have just never feels enough with these cars... you get used to it and despite feeling incredibly fast at 180 bhp when i bought it, my RS is now giving "performance" cars (never lost to a scoobie yet!) hell, ... ...cars tend to suffer.. but if the worst case scenario occurs and your engine goes bang(as mine did!.... please respect the bleed valve...despite what your passengers my tell you winding it out to 25 psi is not good!)a brand new highly moddified engine can be purchased and fitted for under 2 grand.
..(try finding a deal like that for your Japanese motor)
In total ive spent £000's on mine ... 17 inch wheels,Large intercooler, lowered, uprated engine ...

Review of Ford Escort RS Turbo
Advantages: Rare, Tuneable, Desirable and Fast Disadvantages: Addictive
I`ve owned a black 1988 series 2 for 9 years now and it just keeps getting better. Every year they bring out faceless, soulless plastic cars and the RST just looks better. It`s so tuneable and 200 bhp is easily achievable on the series 2 as they were de-tuned from the factory for road use. All you need is a new fuel management chip (Ahmed Bayjoo chips are by far the best), a -31 actuator to increase the boost (series 2`s can easily handle 1 bar( ... ...decent exhaust and a high lift cam will see you with at least 180 bhp. This amount of power in a car that doesn`t weigh that much equals a lot of fun and some embarrassed Subaru/Evo drivers!
Obviously you can go with more power but then it starts getting expensive. Front mount intercoolers cost a bit and hybrid/uprated turbos are expensive, but add them to the RS and you`re looking at about 200+ bhp.

Last year I bought a H reg Escort RS Turbo and "I LOVE IT". Its fast its reliable and it looks amazing. I paid £3000.00 and it was the best money I have every spent. I have added a full system scorpion exhaust, a pipercross induction kit, a gorgeous souding dump valve and dropped it on its arse. It looks the business and sounds it too. I would recommend any young person to buy one of these cars. I admit because it gas been lowered it isn't the comfiest ...

...always wanted to own a Ford Escort RS Turbo. When I was 25 I finally realised my dream and bought a clapped out G reg Black RS Turbo. What a shed and to think I sold my K Reg Fiesta RS 1800I to get it!!!It was quick but noisy, unreliable kept breaking down, etc. I bought a K & N air filter for it and it was exactly the same but noisier!!! No more performance!!!I sold it to some mug in the end for 3 grand which cheered me up no end. I now have a Nissan ...

Advantages: Can be modified to the max Disadvantages: High fuel consumption
Ever since I learnt to drive I always wanted a high performance car.
I started with a 1600I Orion, which i thought was nice, then upgraded to a XR3I.
A little while into having the 3I someone offered me the Turbo which at the time was complety standard. It really was allot faster than I was used to and the engine purred when started.
After a while I started to reallise all the modifications that can be done.
Even when standard the car goes well ... ...and completely modifying her she goes even better, she drives well and looks very good.
When standard i didnt think she handled all that well as her back end would slide out, however since having her lowered its like handling a completey different car.
The recaro seats are comfy to which is a bonus, you just sink into them.
The heated windscreen is just great, gone is the times of scraping ice of the windscreen.
The cars performance is high standard ...

Styling a Ford Escort is dead easy, and for young drivers wanting a good looking but cheap to afford car, the Escort is the obvious choice. With models starting at 1.1 litres, it is easy to get insured for little.
Ford's CVH engine was a masterful piece of engineering, and as such is easy to maintain, and provides good efficient service.
As for cosmetic styling, there are lots of options. Many companies provide cheap bodykit parts, such as RS Turbo ... ...to match the car.
Alloy wheels can be bought cheap secondhand. For escorts, a popular choice are the Ford alloys, such as those found on the RS Turbo and XR3i models. Again there are lots of places where these can be found, and they are often at low prices. ...

I used to own a Radiant red escort Rs Turbo Series 2, 1989 model, this is one of the most fun cars I have ever driven. It has a lot of goodies as standard ie:- recaro seats, rear spoiler and body skirt kit, 15" alloys, an adjustable windscreen wiper speed (brilliant when driving at speed in the rain), sports steering wheel etc. Handles like a dream, as i put Koni suspension on this gave a firm ride but still in the comfort zone, would benefit from ... ...is a must this car is a stunner and can be attractive to the "odd tea leaf"! The RS is a real head turner (boy racers dream car) I spent lots of money adding bits like anodised blue dump valve, stainless steel shiny bits under the bonnet and blue leads etc, a stainless steel magnex exhaust made it sound really sweet along with a bailey motorsport dump valve for the essential whoosh. It is possible to source parts from main dealers/ performance tuners ...
