Advantages: lovely looking car Disadvantages: hard on the bumps and no power stearing
My xr3i convertable is immaculate considering it is a F reg, 15 years old, I swapped it last year for a Peugeot 406 but I do miss my power steering,Although it is so old it has electric windows,mirrors,roof,and speaker direction and runs like a dream so I dont regret swapping but I have to buy a cheap run around for the winter so the xr3i can be garaged{to keep it in it's condition}. Nearly every time I've got the roof down I get asked if it's for ... ...me on the carrigeway tooting their horns to get my attention to ask me. Advantages: Speed, looks, reliability Disadvantages: No power steering
At 17 years old my XR3 convertible is still going strong. Its fast, fun and great to drive. This is surely a classic car of the very near future. The reliabilty is great with no problems starting even in mid winter and the automatic hood has never let me down.
It can be a bit thirsty if you put your foot down for long periods, but in general is a sporty car with good milage per gallon, a comfortable ride and safe breaking and solid steering.

The insurance is knightmare stuff for a young male driver!!
If you can get one cheap go for it !! Watch out for boy racer abuse. Just remember you dont get many cars where the parts are as cheap as a ford escort!! ...
