"Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin huh!'"

Advantages: Cheap, economical, cheap-did I mention cheap?
Disadvantages: I hate to say it, but my poor baby is so uncool!!

...No! It's me in my Ford Fiesta! The white blur is my lovely white Fiesta 1.1, born in the 80's, in its prime in the 90's and in the noughties it's on its last legs but this old guy aint giving up! The chugging sound is the rattling gear box, the grind of the gears, the clunking of the wobbly bonnet... The hideous whaling is me singing "I will survive" at the top of my voice (as the stereo gave up the ghost a long time ago and I have to entertain ...
...had 20,000 miles on his clock and a little rust, but with a little 'T Cut', some 'Back to Black', a hoover, some polish and a lot of TLC he was the belle of the ball in the 6th form car park. We had such happy days (when the stereo still worked) driving around with the windows down, three in the back, squashed and smokey (as it was cool to smoke in 6th form and the back windows don't open so we got double the inhalation from our Marlboro Lights) ...

Ford Fiesta Quartz LX 1.1 3-door

Advantages: Small, cheap, economical, comfortable
Disadvantages: Sluggish, higher insurance than cars of similar size

The sheer number of Ford cars on the road today shows how popular the manufacturer is for producing cheap but comfortable, reliable cars. The Ford Fiesta is one of the most popular and longest-running models and it's easy to see why: its a small, cheap, economical car that has more space than you'd think from viewing the outside. I bought my version, a 1991 J-reg Ford Fiesta Quartz LX 1.1 3-door model, earlier this month for £494. It has 63000+ ...
...I think it will last for a little while yet. The driving position is comfortable and ergonomic and although the ceiling is rather low, there is plenty of leg and elbow room. The car has the basics you would expect (heater, radio, glove box) which are useful without cluttering up the car like with modern vehicles. I love the fact the car has manual windows. I hate electric windows with a passion! It also has a sunroof, which for me is a slight negative ...

The Best Out Of Every Fiesta, In My Own Opinion!

Advantages: Cheap, Simple to Maintain, erm Cheap
Disadvantages: Getting older, Body Rot, Not A Great Drive for A New Driver

...however the younger guys at Ford don't seem quite so up to speed on the HCS, and may do a bit of headscrathing if you ask for a strange part! I changed the headgasket (in one hour flat!) on one of the Fiestas due to a vast amount of "clotted cream," under the filler cap and in the rocker cover. Later speaking to a colleague who is a mechanic he pointed out that head gaskets seldom give way on HCS's and in fact the thin rocker cover, coupled with ...
...harmless. £18 for a complete set of gaskets and bolts wasted, never mind! The thin rocker was replaced with a double skinned one on the CFi HCS, and this reduced the problem a lot! The mk3 bodyshell was radical for its time, one of the first "small cars," available in the five door body plan, I own two five doors, and they can fit three grown adults in the back, not very comfortably, but its not a mega crush. The seats are VERY comfortable, (probably ...

My old fiesta

Advantages: Cheap and reliable
Disadvantages: not that good to look at or to have a crash in!

...the even newer body style ford have come up with. I suppose I'll just have to make the decision If your looking for a reliable, cheap to run car then I would definitely recommend a fiesta. They go on and on and give you very little problems. However, they don't do all that much for your street cred, unless you get one of the sporty versions or spice it up a bit with some of the accessories that are available! It's a car that gets you to where you ...

Shake, Rattle 'N' Roll

Advantages: Economical, Cheap Spares
Disadvantages: Bland, Noisy, Unrefined

The Mark 1 Fiesta, now there's a blast from the past. Are there any left on the road - I haven't seen one for ages. Perhaps they've finally passed a law against them. In 1992 I bought a Fiesta 1.3 Mk2 Ghia but this only lasted a short while until some low-life nicked it. Its (meant to be temporary) replacement, a 1980 1.1 Mk 1, was bought on the quick for £90. This turned out to be a much better car than I thought and I ran it for about 5 years. ...
...turned out to be the seller's wife's car, which he'd decided to 'out' due to its age and condition. Oh, how she cried when I drove 'Tinkerbell' away (don't forget those old cars had souls and feelings). After the Ghia, the standard car felt like a complete dog with its lack of sound-proofing, proper carpets and comfy seats. It even had a four-speed gearbox!! Anyway, Tinkerbell and me got on just fine and the car turned out to be extremely reliable ...

...times do you see a Ford Fiesta? A dozen, maybe more. If you buy a Fiesta, you do not buy one to stand out in a crowd, there are millions on the road, and unless you paint yours some obscure shade of neon pink, it really isn't going to turn heads. Then again, that's not the reason why people buy Ford Fiestas. The sheer number of them on our roads means cheaper parts and plenty of specialist garages should things ever go wrong. (Which in my experience ...
...telling you how great the Ford Fiesta is only to tell you know that I am selling mine, and that it goes to its new owner in Peterborough within the next week or so. I can also tell you that I am absolutely heartbroken to see it go, and believe me, if I could I would never part with it. I now live with my boyfriend who has a newer, more economic diesel Skoda Felicia. We had no need for two cars, but unfortunately mine drew the short straw purely for ...

WHAT A BARGAIN

Advantages: CHEAP
Disadvantages: OLD

My 1989 G Reg Fiesta (not the boxy model, but the next one) was the best thing I have ever bought. Not only is it incredibly reliable, cheap to run, cheap to insure, cute to look at and full of character, but it only cost me £120. I had been looking for a car for a while at this point, as I was fed up of using the trains which seemed to be getting more and more unreliable. I had put aside £1000 to spend on a car, but I was hoping not to spend quite ...
...much money left to run it on. Then one night, I got a phonecall from my boyfriend, saying that he had seen a fiesta advertised for £150 in his local supermarket. He gave me the phone number, but didn't recommend I phoned as he thought the price was probably a mistake or that he had read it wrong and it should have been £750. Anyway, I decided that I would phone on the off chance that it was £150, and, as luck would have it, it was. I therefore persuaded ...

My Kickin Fiesta

Advantages: Good Looks, easy parts to get hold of
Disadvantages: Ford economy

I bought an 1100 Ford Fiesta L on a 1989 G plate from my local car auction for a what i considered cheap £230. It is in good condition only a couple minor stone chips and a bit of bubble rust here and there. Most notably this car is way above its class as far as looks go for its age, well maybe apart from the sportier looking Nova's. The main thing i like is the front end and the interior. --------------- Interior --------------- This is so ...
...it had been used on a farm thus i wanted to clean it, i took out everything i could and found it easy to do. Also taking out the interior was required to fit an alarm and a CD player. This was very easy to do, and also running wires to my rear 6'9" speakers and my subwoofer can be easily hidden underneath the floor/door posts. The seats also offer much better lumbar support than what i was used to (a 1991 Nissan Micra). I have a novelty feature ...

...I chose and bought a Ford Fiesta 1.0 H reg for £750 it had done 60,000 on the clock and they were genuine, I had always dreamt of the Ford puma or Ka but now I was satisified with this one, it had 5 doors so that was handy, as I don’t really like three door cars, but I’m sure I’ll adapt when I get my KA or Puma. The car itself was blue had no rust and the bodywork was really good. Their was only three months left on the MOT so I ...
...£90 for a new exhaust. The insurance was about £900 but thanks to my parents I have had that paid for. I know everyone dreams of getting a top of the range car, but they are simply not practical, and I’m glad that I have started with A fiesta. Though I would have liked a new car! Whatever people say I like my car. It fits three of my friends in at the back and has a boot, which stores quite well. It has not yet broke down on me (touch wood) ...

For first time, Fiestas are fantastic

Advantages: Basic, reliable and economicable for first time buyers
Disadvantages: second hand - what you see, is what you get. Take a friend who is knowledgeable, with you

...we decided on a basic Ford Fiesta. Our local second hand dealer had a couple on offer. I think if possible, buy from someone reputable or whom you know, locally. That way if you have any problems, you know where to locate the seller. After a couple of test runs and loaded with information from various web-sites, we decided the Fiesta was for us. The dealer wanted £1.000 pounds for a '95 Fiesta 1.1 With all the money in cash, we managed to purchase ...
...I could thoroughly recommend a Ford Fiesta. It's powerful enough, small enough to park and most importantly, fuel consumption is good. This was the most basic model so I would advise anyone, thinking of purchasing, to opt for a few more extras, i.e. cigarette lighter, back screen wiper and seat covers. (maybe not the cigarette lighter then!) Enjoy your car and have lots of fun with Ford. ...

The Little Relaiable Master

Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: none

...around, we settled for a Ford Feista 1.1. I would like to talk a little more about the car from what I have heard, read and seen. This car is a real beauty and the older models are available quite cheap. I saw one for under 150 and that was not in too bad a condition. The only reason that we did not select that was because it was G Reg and I was not interested in that old a model. In the end we settled for a good piece for about 450 which was not ...
...bound to find one. This would help me to get spares and used parts quite cheap. Also the repair cost and maintenance costs would hopefully be very low. Thus if you are low on budget want a great bargain then the Ford Fiesta is the one to go in for ...

The fiesta starts first time and i've never had a problem with it in cold weather or icy weather! it will never let you down! Reliability is a huge advantage with this car. Considering how old the car is all the fans and heaters work perfectly, and the heater in particular ...

Great everyday transport

Advantages: Small on the outside-big on the inside, reliable
Disadvantages: Slightly underpowered, no fifth gear

My Fiesta was built in 1989, has five doors, and is one of the first of the new 'curvy' Fiestas off the production line. Despite being nearly 15 years old, she hasn't gone very far (only 37,000 miles!). Being a Popular Plus model the interior is sparse to say the least (the original brochure actually highlighted the glovebox lid as a feature!), but for the size of the car it feels incredibly spacious, and there's no problem with head room even for ...
...quality and, while it may look a little dated in comparison to newer cars, still looks pleasantly smart. The only gripe I have about the interior is the seats - they are terribly unsupportive over longer distances. The boot is of a reasonable size, a week's shopping goes in quite happily and with the rear seat folded there's enough room for a weekend's camping equipment. Her 1.1 litre engine is never going move her anywhere very quickly but for ...
