5 Stars MEET MY WHEELS - THE NEW FORD FIESTA ZETEC Review with images 08/10/2010

Advantages Advantages Economical on fuel and a very comfortable drive

Disadvantages Disadvantages My squeaky gear stick!

This review discusses the newer model of the Ford Fiesta Zetec and not the one as shown in Ciao’s photograph. However, I have not made a product suggestion for the new model due to the fact that it has the identical specification. Have you ever heard of the expression “Found On the Road Dead?” If so, you may recall this was frequently used for FORD, particularly as many years ago their cars were notorious for breaking down and you would very often see an abandoned Ford on the side of the road! However, the popularity of Ford vehicles has considerably grown over recent years and I feel ... more

    Advantages Advantages Lovely Car

Disadvantages Disadvantages Will it stand the test of time?

I bought my Fiesta 1.4 Finesse, Durashift, brand new, in October 2003. It was Ford's latest attempt at producing an automatic small car after their earlier disasters with auto gearboxes. My car is a five door, I would have preferred three doors but at that time the durashift was only being produced with five. It is a 2004 basic Finesse model but came with the added bonus of ABS as standard, otherwise the only posh bits are the cd playerand manual central locking! It does not have electric windows, remote central locking or air con - but I have to say that for the amount of time I would use ... more

Advantages Advantages Well built, roomy, good running costs

Disadvantages Disadvantages A lot of plastic in interior

Around a year ago I wrote an opinion on the Peugeot 106. I had just bought one from new at a decent price and I liked it. However a year later and it’s funny how you can easily fall out of love with something. That especially applies to cars, you start by liking them confident in your choice. However 12-months of driving the thing soon lets you find it’s faults. This summer I will have been driving 8 years and in that time I have had 3 Ford Fiesta’s. My first car was an old ‘W’ reg which was pretty basic but a good runner that rarely let me down and was inexpensive to insure and repair. I then ... more

Advantages Advantages Handles well, pretty nippy

Disadvantages Disadvantages No personality, and no more

I hated my Fiesta. It was a five door, five speed, red Ford Fiesta with the 1.4 litre Cfi engine. It was twelve years old and had done 112500 miles. The reason I hated my car is this...It was twelve years old and has done 112500 miles. When I bought it, I was nearly 25 years old, and I would really like to be driving the TVR from "Swordfish", or any of the four-wheeled cast of "Gone in 60 Seconds". I would love to be driving round the M25 in a Ferrari with Angelina Jolie by my side. When the dreams have faded, and I'm properly awake, however, my Fiesta wasn't a bad little car. Yes, it was ... more

Advantages Advantages Nippy, good accelaration, reasonable sound system

Disadvantages Disadvantages Noisy, a bit plasticy, expensive

I passed my test 1 year ago, and, having learnt in a petrol fiesta, and then having driven my fiance's car once I passed (a Clio - and having driven my fiance up the wall in the process), my work kindly gave me a shiny new Fiesta last year (I could have any car I liked, as long as it was a Fiesta!) So, I'm not the most experienced driver in the world, but I do like my car...... PRICE: The on the road cost is £11,545 So I'm told (a bit pricey, I think). But what do I care? - I didn't pay for mine.... However, I am paying for my Diesel... CONSUMPTION: I drive from Cambridge to Norwich 4 days a ... more

Advantages Advantages Nippy engine, cheap to insure, cheap servicing, good mpg (depending on how you drive it)

Disadvantages Disadvantages The old Fiesta look.

I bought this car in June 1998 with 6,000 miles on the clock. From the moment I drove it out of the forecourt I knew there was something special under the bonnet. The 1.4 16 valve engine that this car comes with has a lot of poke to it. In the lower sub 3,000 rev ranges there is enough pull in the engine to drive along like any other car, without any embarassing sluggishness. But when you let it go over the 3,000 rev line you start to feel the torque build up. I remember once flooring it in second with my brother in the car and his comment was, 'Wow, has this thing got a Turbo?'. The interior ... more

Advantages Advantages Great fuel economy, FAST acceleration, excellent top speed, Great all round small car!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of CD player (although CD Changers can be fitted), No Air conditioning, sunroof doesn't completely open - unless you take it off and put it in the boot!

I bought my Fiesta from a dealer for £3995 (from window price of almost £6k!) with new tyres all round, and in presteen condition. I've had it approximately 2 months now, and have already covered almost 4000 miles. It is an absolutely fantastic car all round. Great town/city car, very easy to park as visual all round is very good, it corners like it's on rails! and excellent for motorway cruising. 0-60 comes in under 10 seconds, so very fast acceleration (I've beaten a Golf GTI off the lights) and is capable (with 1 person and nothing in the boot) of just over 125mph - I did this on an empty ... more

Advantages Advantages Great looks, good drive, space, reliability, quality, motorway capability

Disadvantages Disadvantages appalling fuel economy, cramped in the back

The Fiesta has always been a successful car, arguably more so than almost any other supermini in Europe. But does this new, bigger, and better fiesta have what it takes? Oh, yes it does. My model is around £14,500 of Fiesta Titanium 1.4l petrol, with leather pack and bluetooth audio system. We went for the Magenta colour and first of all, this car is beautiful. One of the best looking superminis that have found its way onto the market in recent times, and it's no wonder. But is it any good to drive? Ford are well known for making good drivers cars, ever since the sophisticated Ford Focus mk.1 ... more

Advantages Advantages A good solid car, with a sporty side if needed

Disadvantages Disadvantages Probably won't stand out in a traffic jam

Ford's update to the classic Fiesta shape has been around for a few years now, and as usual with most Fords, can usually be found on practically every street...and it's easy to see why. The new Fiesta is a mark of the evolution of Ford itself over recent years, taking a lot of inspiration in terms of appearance from the Focus. This is probably the most notable feature when first presented with the Fiesta, as the sleek lines and seemingly infinite head lights simply scream Focus at you. In many ways, the Fiesta acts as younger brother to the Focus, with a helping of youthful exuberance, and a ... more
