MEET MY WHEELS - THE NEW FORD FIESTA ZETEC Review with images

AdvantagesEconomical on fuel and a very comfortable drive

DisadvantagesMy squeaky gear stick!

"...the newer model of the Ford Fiesta Zetec and not the one as shown in Ciao’s photograph. However, I have not made a product suggestion for the new model due to the fact that it has the identical specification. Have you ever heard of the expression “Found On the Road Dead?” If so, you may recall this was frequently used for FORD, particularly as many years ago their cars were notorious for breaking down and you would very often see an abandoned Ford ..." A Fiesta Dilemma

AdvantagesLovely Car

DisadvantagesWill it stand the test of time?

"...bought the car on the Ford Options finance plan. To explain - I am buying half the car on finance over two years and a guaranteed future value is allocated to the car, this value stays until you take up your options choice at the end of the term of finance when you can choose to: Give the car back, and walk away Finance the other half of the car Hope that the car is worth more than the guaranteed value and use that excess as a deposit on another ..." LXcellent

AdvantagesWell built, roomy, good running costs

DisadvantagesA lot of plastic in interior

"...time I have had 3 Ford Fiesta’s. My first car was an old ‘W’ reg which was pretty basic but a good runner that rarely let me down and was inexpensive to insure and repair. I then had an E-reg model that was slightly better but still your bog standard car. In 2001 I bought a newer style P-reg and again it was a decent little ride. Now Ford has changed the shape of the fiesta, no longer is it the cheap little run around. In fact it’s a sturdy and attractive ..." Read review

Fies-tastic

AdvantagesHandles well, pretty nippy

DisadvantagesNo personality, and no more

"...five door, five speed, red Ford Fiesta with the 1.4 litre Cfi engine. It was twelve years old and had done 112500 miles. The reason I hated my car is this...It was twelve years old and has done 112500 miles. When I bought it, I was nearly 25 years old, and I would really like to be driving the TVR from "Swordfish", or any of the four-wheeled cast of "Gone in 60 Seconds". I would love to be driving round the M25 in a Ferrari with Angelina Jolie ..." Read review

Fast, nippy...and noisy

AdvantagesNippy, good accelaration, reasonable sound system

DisadvantagesNoisy, a bit plasticy, expensive

"...customer service at my local Ford dealers to be snotty and they took ages to fix my car. And I already felt pretty stupid - I didn't need them rubbing it in!! TRANSMISSION & PERFORMANCE: (concentrate, here comes the technical stuff....) Engine Capacity - 1399 cc Cylinders - 4 Power - 68@4000 bhp Torque - 118@2000 lb/ft 5 Speed Manual Gearbox Maximum Speed - 102 mph 0 - 62 mph - 14.4 seconds I am told I drive too fast (by my girlfriend ..." A feisty little Fiesta

AdvantagesNippy engine, cheap to insure, cheap servicing, good mpg (depending on how you drive it)

DisadvantagesThe old Fiesta look.

"...looking, so much so, that Ford have used it in the Puma (admittedly with a little aluminium effect trim). It comes with electric windows, and the lowest of the range radio-cassette player, although it does the job. Externally the car has front fog lights, and a rear spoiler, along with R14 185/55 tyres to add to the sporty look. It is not too raucous though with trim, making it a nice safe option for the insurance companies, and it being a Fiesta, ..." Read review

Ford Fiesta 1.4i Ghia (5 Door)

AdvantagesGreat fuel economy, FAST acceleration, excellent top speed, Great all round small car!

DisadvantagesLack of CD player (although CD Changers can be fitted), No Air conditioning, sunroof doesn't completely open - unless you take it off and put it in the boot!

"I bought my Fiesta from a dealer for £3995 (from window price of almost £6k!) with new tyres all round, and in presteen condition. I've had it approximately 2 months now, and have already covered almost 4000 miles. It is an absolutely fantastic car all round. Great town/city car, very easy to park as visual all round is very good, it corners like it's on rails! and excellent for motorway cruising. 0-60 comes in under 10 seconds, so very fast ..." Britain's favourite Review with images

AdvantagesGreat looks, good drive, space, reliability, quality, motorway capability

Disadvantagesappalling fuel economy, cramped in the back

"...cars, ever since the sophisticated Ford Focus mk.1 Came on the scene, and the Fiesta is no different. The 96bhp engine provides plenty of gut, shifting the car at a sprightly and brisk in town pace. It's ideal for dodging through tight suburbian streets, and while it is nowhere near as city friendly as something such as a Fiat Panda or a Toyota Aygo, it's as near as you're going to get while retaining good interior space for all passengers. On paper, ..." Read review

"Fiesta Fiesta..."

AdvantagesA good solid car, with a sporty side if needed

DisadvantagesProbably won't stand out in a traffic jam

"...mark of the evolution of Ford itself over recent years, taking a lot of inspiration in terms of appearance from the Focus. This is probably the most notable feature when first presented with the Fiesta, as the sleek lines and seemingly infinite head lights simply scream Focus at you. In many ways, the Fiesta acts as younger brother to the Focus, with a helping of youthful exuberance, and a sense of playfullness not really apparent in the "every ..." Read review

A loaded little package. The Zetec.

AdvantagesGreat fun, loads of extras, cheap insurance

DisadvantagesSpace

"...of a cracking deal that ford are currently offering to the public. A brand new fiesta with air conditioning for free all for £8,995!!! Wow! I hear you cry. But what am I getting for my money? Well, the deal is not quite what it seems. the good price is for a 3 door with no metallic paint. This limits your colours greatly. So go for the metallic paint option. ANOTHER £250!!! OK, me and the wife are having a baby. Lets go 5 door.... ANOTHER ..." Read review

Sexy little boy racers car Review with images

AdvantagesLooks good, Comfortable ride, Spare parts are cheap, Safe and stylish car, Very enjoyable to drive

DisadvantagesFuel consumption could be better, The headlights look like fisheyes apparently

"== My Introductions == I'm a 18 year old boy who only past his test last month. I received this car as a present last christmas (2009). This is my first car and I got bought it before I had past my test because my parents were very keen on me getting as much driving practice that I could get outside of the usual one hour a week driving lesson. This worked because I past my test a few weeks ago. == Pros and Cons == === Pros === * Looks ..." Read review

Fiestas should be fun

Advantagesfast, nippy, mega easy to drive

Disadvantagesbit too small for us and the dog

"...all, I have a few ford cars, but this is my first fiesta. It is the Fiesta zetec 1.4, 5 door version in metallic blue, which we were told was the new colour when we bought it and now everyone has it. But having said that I do like the colour. I know I am being girly here discussing the colour first, but it is the first thing you notice about the car. We got a years free insurance with it as well, cant remember the price cos we traded our last ..." Read review

Cheap and cheerful

AdvantagesCheap to run, insure and maintain

DisadvantagesA bit basic

"The Ford Fiesta was the very first car I ever owned after passing my test in the early 1990’s. I was restricted in what I could buy by the very high cost of car insurance, as they were looking for nearly the price of the car again simply for the privilege of driving it on the road. So I had to settle for a small car that would be both cheap to run and to insure. I have actually owned two Fiestas The first was an old 1984 model with about ..." Read review
