Bland but efficient - is this car Swiss?

AdvantagesReliable, very economical, quick enough even for longer journeys

DisadvantagesRide too firm, handling too twitchy, not as many toys as you might expect

"...with the Ghia spec, the Ford accountants were trimming features to save cost. === Driving === Handling is good; but the ride is quite hard and the car can feel quite twitchy, which I find annoying, and the kids complain. The engine is not the quickest, but it's the only diesel available on the 2004 Fiesta (the 1.6 came later). To be fair, it's quick enough for most driving situations. There are occasional overtaking maneuvers that I wouldn't ..." Read review

Excellent car and affordable prices

Advantagescheap to run, great fuel economy

Disadvantagesno ABS

"...a leaking coolant pump which ford fixed on warranty. OVERVEIW The car is basically just a smaller, cheaper Focus, and runs exceptionally well. I have pushed my car to the limits, running it on very rough roads, up extreme gradients fully loaded and over great distances with few stops and it never let me down once. (the coolant pump leaked shortly after purchase and has been fine during these extreme conditions) ENGINE The 1.4 TDCI engine ..." Read review

Car with problems

AdvantagesGood little car, Good Fuel Consuption. V Cheap road Tax.

DisadvantagesAbsolutely attrocious mechanical reliability.

"...THE PLAGUE!!! General overview ============= I purchased my Ford Fiesta with only 6000 miles on the clock. For the next 2 years, I had perfect, trouble-free driving, withthe exception of the engine cutting out at 70 MPH on the motorway, as the fuel heater element (built into the fuel filter) had shorted out. I put this down to an unfortunate one-off, however, as an engineer, I consider the design to be a poor one, as no one individual electrical ..." Read review

Ford Fiesta.

AdvantagesValue for Money, Fuel Consumption, Very Reliable.

DisadvantagesWould Recommend the 'Facelift' Version (Better Looking)

"In my opinion, the Ford Fiesta is the best hatchback around, better than the Vauxhall Corsa, the Suzuki Swift, the Citreon C2 or the Renault Clio and any other competitor. For the price you can get one for today, it is a steal. Outstanding value for money and with it being a Ford, it is very easy to get parts in case you damage it at all. It's not biggest car and fitting the weekly food shop might become a struggle at times (depending on how much ..." Read review

Ford fiesta a great economic car

AdvantagesCheap to run, good spec, handleing, good motorway drive

Disadvantagesnot many(if any)

"...£200 to £280 at the ford dealership so in the entire car is cheap to run. The car also has dual airbags and a good standard ford alarm for the safety and security concious, which I believ should be the standard norm these days. I would recommend this car for anyone needing cost efficient motoring with its great design and flawless economics and standard compared to rivals I would choose no other. A great little car. ..." Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.4 TDCi

AdvantagesEconomy, size, running costs, equipment

DisadvantagesAcceleration

"== Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.4 TDCi 5dr == === Background ===I have owned my 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi since it was 6 months old and have traveled at the time of writing (OCT 2007) 25000 miles though the car has done 30000 in total. The car lacks in one area, which is acceleration, however, this does not detract from a 5-star rating because if you're purchasing a diesel at this price point you should be doing it for the excellent economy - not for super ..." new shape is beautiful and comfortable to drive.

Advantagesalmost everything

Disadvantagesspeed bump problems!

"...almost bought a 54 reg Ford Fiesta Zetec, but at 4 grand my dad was a bit apprehensive on buying it (and after all the problems i've had with the 206 he wishes he'd bought me that instead!) I'm planning on buying a Ford Fiesta (at least the second shape if I can't afford the new one) as I truly fell in love with the car! I don't like the old shape I think it's ugly, but I suppose you can't always go for looks! I found the car to be very comfortable ..." Read review

Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 TDCi 5dr

AdvantagesCheap to run, Zetec handles really well

DisadvantagesBit plasticy inside, can get rattly.

"I have a 2002 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 TDCi 5dr in red. Over 60MPG, very low insurance and cheap tax. Beware of the first batch in 2002 that didn't have the CO2 tweaked so yours paying £120 tax when the exact same car released months after is only £35 a year to tax. Very annoying! The Zetec has superb handly and most of the time feels very nippy with good pull in higher gears on motorways. It seems a lot nippier than it's 68HP would suggest. I fill it ..." Read review

Highly recommended

AdvantagesEconomy, Value for money

DisadvantagesNot the highest performance

"I bought one of the first diesel Fiestas of this shape back in 2002. I chose it because I liked the looks and it was in my price range. Right from the start it met my expectations: A nice chunky interior that doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't, handles extremely well and has proved very economical. i get between 55 and 60 mpg (Accurately calculated, not from a trip computer), equating to 450 miles per tank. The engine is poweful enough for ..." Read review

A small diesel for Petrolheads.

Advantageseconomical, fun to drive, comfortable, lots of head and leg room

Disadvantagesremote hatchback,smallish boot space

"I bought this little ford number back in march, Its a fun little car that just wants to go. From the outside it looks like a smaller version of the acclaimed Focus, its looks are not too bad. The engine is Ford new TDCI which is basically the same engine thats in the 206 and C3, it very responsive and lively, fuel consumption is as you would expect very good, it is also cheaper on tax and insurance. Inside, the equipment you get is more than ..." Read review

I love my Ford Fiesta

AdvantagesSmall, Quite nippy, Drives well

DisadvantagesMy model has no air con and no sun roof

"...i decided on getting a Ford Fiesta. I chose to get a Fiesta for many reasons, some of these were because i actually like the new shape they have now. Even though initially i didnt like it, i warmed to it and ended up prefering it to the old shape. I also thought that it would be a good car to get as it is small enough for me, but still has enough room with the 5 door model i bought. I also thought that a Ford would be a good option would be a good ..." Read review

Ford Fiesta : skating on thin ice!

AdvantagesNeat little car!

DisadvantagesPoor handling!

"...sized engine... My family weren't really ford lovers but we stumbled across the new style Ford fiesta LX 1.4TDCi while surfing on the net. It appeared to have everything that we wanted and more... CD player, air conditioning, twin air bags, electric windows and mirrors, sharp interior and generally we liked the new shape - a cross between the old stly fiesta and the focus. 2 weeks later we were picking the brand new car up, feeling very excited ..." Quick review of Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi

"I have had my Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 TDCI for about a week now and I cannot complain. I know a week isnt that great a period but after my old car I can tell if a car is worth its weight. Mine is a 52 plate and has everything I could want, cd player, air con, central locking, electric windows etc. I find this newer version of the Fiesta far more spacious than my old R reg fiesta and cannot complain about the boot space, for a small car I think the boot is ample, its not intended to be a family sized boot. I have high hopes for the mpg as I have gone down about a bar and a half and done 130 miles so its looking good. Great car!!

Quick review of Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi

"Very economical little car. It is small enough to get parked and drive around town and also spacious enough to seat five people and shopping bags in the boot. I have currently owned this car for years and am buying another 2009 model. Cheap tax £35 per year, cheap insurance and high fuel efficieny. It is a lovely car to drive, very smooth. Perfect car for new drivers and also young professionals. A very good buy!!

Ford Fiesta Great Car to Learn in!

AdvantagesCheap but good value, economical to run.

DisadvantagesInterior looks cheap

"...many other cars including a ford focus, a vauxhall corsa, but this car was by far the easiest to drive and really easy to get used to. I would recommend buying this car for someone as a car to learn in, its safe comfortable except on long journeys. ..." Read review
