The ABS for example, which I know is fitted on most cars these days, will really make a difference to your braking. How inconsiderate! - THE INTERIOR The interior is also a step above the popular plus models. The sears are a different shape, to give you more support, and also the cloth is a completely different cloth. Considering that the car ...

...and are generally unreliable.A typical Ford design. Also known as the push rod engine. The 1.3 Over Head Cam Engine (OHC) is slightly younger but not much. It too is a Ford "in House" Design. It may be bigger than the Zetec but it gives out less horsepower and is not as fuel efficient. The Zetec beats them all. Its less than 10 years old from Design board. It comes in a variety of sizes and powers many of the cars in the Ford Range. Yamaha supplied ... ...of the car awe there? Ford are well known as one of the most common cars to “Cut and Shut”. Be wary of this. Check also the bottom of the window pillars by the wing mirrors. This is where the normally bolt the one end to the other too. Lesson 3. Inside trim tells a lot of tales. Advantages: Cheap n cheerful, reliable, nice to drive Disadvantages: Rusts easily, far too common, tacky interior
Ford Fiestas. I've owned, cherished and destroyed so many of these friendly little hatchbacks in my time that my life story would make similar reading to a Haynes workshop manual. I've learned to drive in one, learned to crash in one, and how to take care of one. I've driven every shape of Fiesta from the boxy late 70's Mk1 up to the newest Mk6 Zetec, and they've all been spot on little cars. The model in question here is the Mk3 Fiesta, of which ... ...even the much enthused about Ford Puma sharing it's fundamental chassis platform.
The Mk3 was built around an all-new steel bodyshell, more aerodynamic and more roundly styled than the Mk2. It came in 3 or 5 door models with a van also being available. It came in various editions from the very basic Fiesta Popular model right up to the XR2i, the RS Turbo and the later RS1800. Engine sizes range from 1 - 1.3 litre crossflow (carried over from earlier ...

...parts a fraction to what Ford will charge. i started simple by changing the airfilter to K&N induction kit, shortly after a straight thru stainless steel exhaust was fitted. Again the parts and choice was amazing. I started to polish the car once or twice daily and after a few weeks it was shining lovely. The little fiesta was becoming quite eye catching. I started to make interior changes - blue interior light, white dial kit, ally gear knob. The ... ...tyres. Again being a Ford choice was plentiful, but with small arches any bigger than 15" alloys means arch work.
In summer 1998 i joined the fiesta club of GB and started to show my car. It always attracted a good response but with each pending show i was compeled to have new modification fitted. Throughout the summer of 98 i fitted a single wiper conversion, modified parcel shelf with XR2i scribed in it.
Spring 1999 saw disaster hit, when i bought ...

...invariably common and I found Ford dealers gave the worst customer service around. At least parts are relatively cheap.
The performance was only average, but it was a nice drive (the seating position aside) with plenty of space and a large boot.
However, at the end of day, you can’t ignore its dull and boring image and to say they are ‘common’ doesn’t even come close! ...

Advantages: Fuel comsumption. A very cheap car to buy. Disadvantages: Immense amounts of body roll. Can buy newer cars for a few hundred pounds more.
This was my very first car, and I have just sold it. I had this car for a year and I made quite a few trips from Birmingham to London and back in this car a fair few times without any problems what so ever.
Throughout the year of owning this car, I broke down only once due to the alternator dying on me which could happen on any car. Once I got this part replaced, the car ran perfectly fine.
One of the major faults with the Fiesta MK3 is that the ... ...roll. This makes it really easy to lose grip going round round-a-bouts and also tight corners. Whilst particularly hazardous, it can also be quite fun (and easy) to send it into a spin around a round-a-bout when there is no one else about!
For a hatchback, I found this car to have a decent amount of legroom, front and back, and even some of my taller friends were impressed with the legroom they received. The boot space is rather large and i had ...

I've got a ford fiest along with my merc, and it's absolutely hopeless.
Every four weeks, the engine breaks down and we have to take it to the machanic. He fixes it, and it breaks down again. And it's not the mechanic - I've taken this wreck of a car to lots of places.
It's cheap and flimsy - but what can you expect from the americans? It's difficult to drive and extremely cramped - I would never sell this car to anybody if I owned a garage.
Looks ... ...but I bought it for use, although it failed that, too.
There aren't very many guarantees - we received a poor after purchase service.
There are no features - a radio which doesn't work, a heater, and a steering wheel.
And as for security, well, the glass it thick on the windows, but if you kicked the door it would most probably fall off.
And I think this thing drinks petrol.
The Mercedes I have is bad. This is worse. ...

Advantages: Many extras with Post March 1994 Models Disadvantages: Check Parkers.co.uk for things to beware
When searching for a second hand small car of good quality, low insurance and reliability, the Fiesta is often sought after, but it is foolish to consider them all as much of a muchness. You may be able to get a wealth of nice extra features if you buy one built after the date aforementioned. This year saw a range redesign before the Mark 4 design resulted a couple of years later. The engines were much improved, especially regarding effeciency, and ... ...(look out for those with passenger option installed). Mine also came with power steering which was also originally installed as a factory option that year. The suspension system and chassis design was much improved, improving the ride quality, and increasing safety as the seat belts are designed to take up the slack of chassis in the event of an accident. Side impact bars were also included from this year onwards. There are subtle interior and exterior ...

Advantages: good on petrol Disadvantages: rusty battery cages, faulty steering locking
The ford fiesta has grown to be a well loved car by many today especially the youths, i have one for my first car they are so easy to repair and parts are readily available. The cars run extremely well on petrol even when in the red the go for many may more miles, one slight disadvantage though is the rust hotspots, the batterycage and the wheel arches. however for the age of the cr on the whole they are good runners. They are quick off the mark ... ...not good on fuel consumption the mk 3 engine is seemed as slightly better in some respects well in my eyes than the 16 valve Zetec engine as when Ford added the CAT to theese models the lossed around 20 BHP which is to much form just adding a CAT. ...

Advantages: Cheap to run initially, big space for... activities ;) Disadvantages: death trap in the wet
I had one of these as my first car.
It lasted well, until the head gasket blew. That was costly!
I found on roundabouts, in the wet, at the right speed (about 20) you can spin this car several times. Or perhaps on corners even with a grippy road surface.
I think the highlight of this car was getting 3 weeks of driving (short distances) out of 1 tank! that was impressive. It sounds like a sowing machine, but can be modified to your hearts content ...

...The car was brand new FORD FIESTA MKIII. When I just got seated in the car it was wonderful. The seats were as comfortable as the couches at home. The steering seems to be very smooth and the wheels made the roads look much better than they actually are.
