KA-racking little KA

Advantages: Cute, fun, nippy, spacious and economical
Disadvantages: Not for those with huge families!

...making some notes about my Ford Ka for this opinion, I’ve realised that there are some similarities between my car, My Ford Ka2 and myself. First of all, the shape. It’s small and perfectly formed. It’s stylish and curvy with a well-rounded bottom. As I am (LOL! – If you don’t know what I’m talking about see my op on Morgan and all will become clear!) It has the kind of look that you either love or hate, and personally, ...
...could not recommend the Ford Ka2 more highly. With electric windows, sunroof, driver's airbag, central locking and power assisted steering you cannot go wrong. If you are looking for a family car then this is probably not for you as it is simply too small!! Thanks for reading! ...

...- hurrah!!! The Radio/Cassette that Ford make is great, and I can wire a CD changer into the boot and not have to change the player in the car (apparently, although I wouldn't know where to start with this). The dashboard is quite basic, I'd love a thermometer and all that jazz, but it has everything you need APART FROM A PETROL LIGHT!!! I'm used to this and I keep nearly running out of petrol... The car has central locking, which is great, but ...
...I would assume that as Ford are quite a common name parts would be easily available and relatively cheap. I may be wrong and in for a nasty shock... To Insure: Obviously depends where you go. Cheaper than most other cars I got quoted on... I actually bought this car at a Renault garage, and they've been very helpful. It's ideal for the smaller roads of the Isle of Wight (where I live) and I cant wait to take it on the motorway, I think it'll do ...

...the proud owner of a Ford KA! Let's just say it was the biggest favour I've called in, in the history of calling in favours. Anyway, it's an S reg KA2 in 'Copper Glow' with an interior to die for. There's very little I don't like about the KA2. The looks are something you either love or hate and obviously I love it or I wouldn't have got one. I also adore the colour - which is odd because I hate red cars! This is a really cheeky red though as it ...
...let me go check...rust red, later if the sun's out it will shine a bright sunny orange and tonight at dusk it will be cherry. Bless it. Having had use only of a very clapped out old fiesta before - you could stick your arm through the passenger door, whilst closed; the aerial had long since fallen off and the speakers only worked if you slammed the door hard and turned them up full to break them in - it's only natural that I think the KA is the best ...

Advantages: fits in my garage!

...best by far is the ford ka. Now, as with most cars, this one does have some downsides: although there is plenty of headroom, widthwise this car is not for chubby people. I am by not overweight, and I fill the seat. Also, at 5"5', I am of average height, and I sometimes feel my knees are under my chin: sure you can oush the seat back, but that does mean not being able to use the back seats... Also, the boot space is limited, you'll find you need ...
...I've never come across a Ford in which I could sleep. However, 6ft2 ex boyfy and I did once manage to squeeze in some back seating.... ;-) However, the exhaust has needed replacing twice (-can you hear that funny noise? -well it wasn't ME!) but very little else has gone wrong. One more thing is that the windscreen frame is big and a bit of a blind spot when cornering. In all, a great little run around, in which I feel safe and secure, knowing that ...

Nice Ka to drive

Advantages: Comfortable, roomy, handles well
Disadvantages: None

My first opinion of the Ford Ka wasn't too positive. I thought they looked strange, but this soon changed when I realised a friend had purchased one in London. To be a passenger in a Ford Ka is comfortable to say the least. The front passenger seat is pleasant, as tall people will not be bumping knees into a low piece of black plastic. The Glove compartment doesn't jut out, and gives the sense of space in the front. Sitting in the back is ok, but ...
...say much about driving a Ford Ka, as I have only driven one around Tesco's car park in Goodmayes! When I was driving it then, it seemed to be very easy to control, and the steering was very easy. I think all Ka's come with power-assisted steering but don't quote me. Gadget-wise is the Ford Ka quite modern. It has a Ford CD Player, which is of good quality and the sound that the speakers produce is ample. The dashboard isn't particularly cluttered, ...

Laughing on the other side of their faces...

Advantages: Small, funky looking, great handling, good fuel consumption
Disadvantages: Small boot (not very good for weekends away)

When I first mentioned to my friends that my new car was going to be a KA2, I was met with a few underhand mickey taking comments and a lot of sniggering…since purchasing it and taking my friends out in it, I am the one left laughing when they tell me that they want one too. This little car is cheap on tax with its small 1.3 engine, insurance (group 2) and has a good fuel consumption level (about 35-40mpg) So put the above money savers alongside ...
...(mine has a mini rear window spoiler) perfectly rounded and the interior is one of my favourite ever things – its has trendy patterned seats and upholstery and the dashboard is a futuristic design that is a different shape than anything else you see in any cars around – the dials are white and easily distinguishable, the heating knobs are modern looking and different. While the glove compartment is very small and compact (not much room for your cd’s) ...

KA - Excellent Drive, Pricey Service

Advantages: Nippy, Sturdy, Cost Effective
Disadvantages: Rusting Spark Plugs. Rusty Bodywork

...absolutely love it! The Ford KA, in my opinion, feels as wide as it is long. This is a good thing as it is sturdy and grips the road very well around corners. The car is EXTREMELY nippy and can turn on the spot. This makes it very simple to reverse park. The KA is very economical on petrol - best small car I've driven. Some useful features: - Boot release button - Dashboard compartment - Drinks holder in door compartments - Central Locking ...
...the KA's best features is the mirror on the drivers side visor. Probably not it's safest feature as it encourages the application of make-up whilst stopped at traffc lights. The only problem that I have experienced was with my first service when the car was 3 years old. This was therefore the KA's first MOT. Due to the spark plugs having rusted into my engine, it cost a whopping £500 to be road worthy. I have since looked into this and apparently ...

Ka - city car of the millennium

Advantages: exterior size, driveability, equipment
Disadvantages: acceleration, boot space

I have owned a Ford Ka 2 four nearly four years and consider it to be the ultimate city car. The exterior styling may be unconventional and even a little 'over-designed', however it is practical with its wrap-around three-section bumpers. Inside, the styling is no calmer, but everything seems to be in the right place and the air is of a much cosier interior than that of the Fiesta. Whereas there are minor gripes with the Fiesta's placement of switchgear ...
...mph is possible despite what Ford would lead you to believe. The ride is fairly comfortable, thanks to soft suspension, which surprisingly doesn't lead to poor handling. Grip is excellent for a car of this size, thanks to the wide track and 165 rubber. Nipping through traffic is easy, especially with the power steering on the Ka2 (now standard across the range). the audio system is above par, featuring RDS and a decent output, despite the poor door-bin ...

Say Ka

Advantages: Size, general functioning
Disadvantages: Leg room for driver

Well, before owning the Ford Ka Collection, I must say I didn't really know a lot about them, except that when my sister was getting a car, she had rejected it on the grounds that it just wasn't good looking enough. I don't know if I agree with that or not but I would definitely agree that it is a car that grows on you, looks wise. Mine is silver, and it certainly makes a difference to not have the black trims. I think that silver is definitely the ...
...but it does complement the shape of the car rather than making it look odd, as some of them do. The car is gorgeous to drive, and has a lot of power for a small car. I am learning in it and it is ideal for me, small and compact, easy to manoeuvre and bomb around in!! Certainly, it would not have won Car Of the Year if it was not worthy of it! It drives a treat and there is a surprising amount of room in it, although I di agree with those that suggest ...

Nice drive - but could be so much better

Advantages: Small size when parking, light to handle
Disadvantages: No light in boot, no dash space

I bought a Ka collection a couple of years ago after my Escort was stolen and written off. I loved the quirky look of the car, and being a small person was also attracted to the size of the car. The first thing I noticed was how easy the car was to drive. It was very nippy and had enough power to get up to speed pretty quick. Parking was an absolute dream - my 3 point turns were perfect. It was also very comfy to drive - and I didn't need a cushion ...
...niggle...there was no space to keep anything on the dash, and the glove box was tiny - not even enough room to keep the log book, never mind some cds. No light in the boot made getting things out at night a bit of a treasure hunt. Also, the front bit of bodywork between the windscreen and the drivers window was too wide, and obstructed my view quite badly when turning right. I haven't got the Ka anymore. When it was 2 years old rust bubbles started ...

Super Ka

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Well I have been driving a Ka 2 in Ampura blue for two years now and it has suited my every need and hasn't let me down once. This car is perfect for all your driving needs, a good accelerator and fast for the motorways, nippy for driving round town and small and perfect for parking. For what looks at first to be a small car this car has plenty of room inside,a though it does only seat 4 people. There is plenty of headroom and surprisingly a large ...
...It has a snazzy round effect to the interior, but all the displays are clear and easily legible, the only extra I would have wanted would have been a display for when you are low on fuel. The boot is also big enough and has extra storage space by pushing the rear seats forward. It is a very good runner and has a low fuel consumption. It handles brilliantly and feels safe at all speeds. ...

Ford Fun Factor at it's best

Advantages: Fun factor, equipment level
Disadvantages: Lack of room for tall drivers

I once read that every Ford Ka owner must smile everytime they get in. If they're under 6ft, then yer they might well do. If how ever they are the height of an average human being then they will probably knock their knees on the steering wheel and even when they put the seat fully back the chances are their knees will still rub against the lower section of the wheel. Other than the slight lack of leg room for the driver this is every bit the fun ...
...experience and even less of the Ka but I have however been impressed by the grip the small tyres provide. The styling may not be to everyones taste but in my opinion it grows on you. The Ka 2 comes complete with central door locking and mettalic paint as standard. It comes equipped with a Radio Cassette player - which to be honest isn't great but it is a bespoke fitting one, beautifully combined into the central facia. All Kas have a 1.3 Sefi engine. ...

Disadvantages: Do rust relitivy quickly and seals may sometime leak

...as I grow up! Well Ford Ka's were a great option. My mate Jamie had one first and within two weeks I had one I liked them that much. I tracked down a cheap one and found them very reasonably priced. As mine is a P reg Ford Ka2 it has the little extras that push It alittle further to be better that the standard model. You get electric windows and also central locking as standard which is great, You also get them much needed headrests in the rear ideal ...
