I Ka-n't really fault the Ford Ka

Advantages: Nippy, fun to drive, power-steering, cheap to run and insure
Disadvantages: Limited space in the back, quite a small boot, heavy doors

...a metallic black T-reg (1999) Ford Ka Collection - which I assumed to be a Ka2, but I'm told it's a Ka3 (which I always thought was the old name for the Luxury edition, not the Collection... Oh well, I don't know. Please accept my apologies if I've put my review in the wrong place. I'll stick with what my insurers are calling it). Power-steering, electric windows, air conditioning, CD player… What more can a girl ask for? Six years old - not too ...
...1998 Nissan Micra, a 1997 Ford Fiesta, a 1997 Citroen Saxo and a 1998 Vauxhall Corsa). The Ka is by far my favourite, not just to drive, but to manoeuvre. It's so easy to park and reverse. Steering is incredibly light and responsive (oh, the joys of power steering). I can't stress how much fun this car is to drive. The Sport Ka, which I mentioned I'm having driving lessons in, is a great little car. It's sportier than mine and has more nip, but ...

...I bought my blue Ford Ka back in February 2005 and wouldn't swap it for the world now. At first I was a little worried as I'd been used to a bigger car (a Focus) and didn't know how I'd manage to get all my shopping in or how fast it would go!!! Yet I've come to realise that it's the perfect car for me as it's main advantages are that it's small so easy to park, cheap and to insure and cheap to run, what more could I ask for!! There are 6 different ...
...(Prices quoted are from the Ford website) They've also brought out a limited edition Ka Sublime which is slightly more expensive than the Ka Luxury and also the StreetKa but neither of these are really relevant for this review. My Ford Ka is blue in colour and comes equipped with body coloured bumpers and wing mirrors as well. I really like the shape and size of the car, it's easy to park in almost any space. My only dislike of the outside of the ...

...myself down to my local Ford dealer (big mistake) to have a look at what they had. They only had one used Ka left in stock which I quickly snapped up. Now, forgive me, but in the eagerness of my youth I didn't haggle for the car and left there 4449 pounds in debt. A week later after the car had its MOT and service I went to collect and I can tell you that Ive never been so excited in all my life! It was such a great feeling to own a car that worked ...

If you do however want to get a different make of player you need to get a face to go round the players face. This is because the Ford players are specifically designed for the Ka's and curves around with the dash. The standard equipment consists of two speakers in the doors or the Ka but not in the back, but sound quality ...

Not so small

Advantages: not as small as it looks
Disadvantages: poor acceleration

I have to say I love this car, even if its not my own. My Mum bought an Y reg 1.3 Ka for around £6995 (I think) and duly put me on the insurance. The first thing I noticed about this car, is how incredibly spacious it is inside for such a small car. Both the driver and the front passenger have more than enough room, and the fully adjustable seats make it even better. The drivers can move both up and down and forwards and backwards, which has proved ...
...more room than what would be expected from a small car. The dash and interior is very original, but it works. The radio and fan ‘area’ is very oddly shaped, but it still looks good. The interior is very nice looking, not lots of plastic, but padding. The seats are very comfortable, and you just sink into them when you sit down, giving a nicer driving position and so making it easier to drive. The stereo that comes with the car is also ...

Truth about the Ka

Advantages: Cheap and reliable
Disadvantages: not good for long journeys

...car for the millenium, the Ford Ka." Or so they would liked you to believe when it hit the streets 4 years ago. But it is really not their design. It was engineered, designed and presented by an external design house. The engineering geniuses that designed the Ford Ka are part of the company that I work for, MSX International. I bet you did not know that did you? MSX have had a big input into Car design and have a very close relationship with Ford. ...
...looks nothing like the other Ford cars." Well, thats because it wasnt a Ford car. The design was sold to them. Since then, the rest of the range, (The Focus, The Mondeo, The Cougar) have all taken design aspects from the Ka and evolved into a very similar looking fleet. If you have been inside one, you will be suprise at the comfort and room for such a little car. This is again due to a completely different design concept to Ford's usual standards. ...

...rust all over it apparently, Ford tried fobbing him off with stone chips etc until they realised he was an expert. Anyway, now we started to look hard and sure enough, 11 months old and we found rust. Everywhere. I KAn't believe it's not that bad!

Advantages: small and nippy
Disadvantages: minimal features and not that spacious

I'm currently driving the Ford Ka 3 (1.3) as a courtesy car. Being a courtesy car it has few features...no electric windows, no sunroof, no central locking, but I believe that these are available if required. The first thing that hit me about this car was the power steering. Man alive! You turn the steering wheel, one degree and it as good as does a 90 degree turn! It's gonna take some getting used to! I'm sure that when I get my old car back, I'm ...
...I'll have gotten used to the power steering and will understeer big time on my none-power steered car! Other than that, it accelerates pretty well for a 1.3, and is easy to drive. It's a small car and is hence easy to park. It's also very economical, it's mpg is very good (45mpg). Now lets get onto the size. It's very spacious...as long as you only take one passenger. You can get people in the back, but I don't recommend it if they're older than ...

Brilliant Little Ford Ka

Advantages: nippy
Disadvantages: no light in boot, but this may have changed now

...At first I hated the Ford Ka, I thought it was a horrible looking thing and even remarked on many occasions "I would never drive one of those". Until the day my friend hired one for the day. I got in and I knew i had to have one. They are super cars. Its like being in some sort of mini space rocket. Everything is curvey and there is a lot more room than you would imagine. I choose the Ka3 for the cd player, alloys, air conditioning and extra leather ...
...Its great on fuel economy, and I think the only complaint I have is that there is no light in the boot which makes it bit difficult when unloading the sainsbury's shopping in the dark. I often find spare tins of baked beans in my boot the next day! Anyway its very nippy and handles great round corners. My mum borrowed it and her comment was "oh its lovely you can really through it around" Thats the last time she uses my car. I fully recommened this ...

The Ultimate Small Ka

Advantages: Fun to drive, Great looks, Cheap to run
Disadvantages: Average engine, below par brakes

I bought my 98-R plate Ford Ka3 3 years ago this month and have loved the car since I first set eyes on it! Having just graduated & travelled in an assortment of old Micra's, Uno's & Escorts over the past few years, I decided to spend some of my newly earned cash (ok, credit!) on a 'proper' car. I looked around at a few different cars but having been something of a Ford fan for a while decided on the Ka pretty quickly. I haven't had a single regret ...
...it done at a main Ford dealer mainly for convenience but the work has always been carried out quickly and to a high standard. After 3 years of extremely happy motoring in it, I have recently traded it in for a new SportKa. This combines all the things I love about my original Ka plus it rectifys the faults (great new engine, uprated ABS brakes). So, in short, I think the Ka is one of the best small cars around & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! ...

My first car - loved it to bits!

Advantages: Sticks to the road, drives like a dream!
Disadvantages: Bit of a pain getting a baby car seat in the back

I bought an R reg Ka3 in the summer of 2000. I completely fell in love with it as soon as I got in. It comes with Air Conditioning which made the summers bearable. The engine's really nippy and cornering's a dream, it doesn't wallow at all. It looked really small from the outside but there's plenty of headroom, even in the back seats. The only small problem is if you are trying to use a first stage car-seat in the back seat - quite awkward to use ...
...add more info on spec: Air Con as standard on Ka3 - absolute godsend. CD radio - normal Ka comes with just radio-cassette. Alloy wheels (hah! That annoyed my husband! He was so jealous!). 1.3 engine - quite a small engine but as the car is so small and light, it feels very powerful. Fantastic acceleration. Power steering - made for more exciting drive! Boot space - surprisingly spacious - bigger than you'd expect. Parking - so easy! The bonnet ...

my first company Ka (terrible pun!)

Advantages: spaciousness (yes really!) , unique styling
Disadvantages: poor acceleration

This is my first company car which I was presented with last November. I have to say I love this car, even if its not my own. I have no idea how much it was bought for but it was the cheapest option on my lease scheme (£approx 100 a month) The first thing to say about this car is that it is a bit of a tardis in that it is deceptively spacious for such a small car. The front seats are fully adjustable (the drivers seat can be moved up and down as ...
...more than enough space for both driver and passenger. I have to admit that I am probably not the best judge of this however, as I am only 5 foot tall. I have transported taller friends though, and there have been no complaints. The rear passengers also have quite a lot more room than what would be expected from a small car. The only problem would be in access to the back seats for e.g. a car seat, as it is a 3 door car. The interior styling is unique ...

Good little car, cheap to run and handles well!

Advantages: Cheap on fuel, Cheap Insurance, Nice handling
Disadvantages: Slow with full load, Tight for space, no rev counter

...kill me on insurance. The Ford KA3 was the solution to that problem. The insurance was cheapest on this than on most other cars I looked at, as was the tax. I picked up my KA3 from a local dealer in my area for just under £3000. It was a T reg KA3 with 2 previous owners. The KA3 comes packed with more equipment and is the higher spec of the older KAs. The car had electric windows (front only), Power Steering, CD player with FM tuner, Alloy Wheels, ...
...the standard speakers fitted by ford was impressive and gave a good quality sound that sounded clear even at loud volumes. The controls are are located in an easy to reach way and makes driving easier. The small Analogue clock is clear and usually easy to read, even in the dark, however I believe it could also do with a digital display. Though few, there are still a few drawbacks to the car. It is obvious that the Ford KA is a small car, however ...

Exudes cheap, but good for 'mums'

Advantages: cheap therefore easy on the old wallet, small so easy to park ,
Disadvantages: Too cheap , tinny, cassette player, no central locking too small

I have a lovely ford focus estate and whilst it went for it's first service my local T. C Harrison garage offered me a courtesy car. I gladly accepted as I am disabled with mobilty problems and therefore I can't walk very far. " Here's the keys it's the light blue car parked outside" they said and off my hubby , three old and I go. We walked out and searched and searched and searched only to find a very small blue KA. The keys fitted so in we get. ...
...went back into the garage to be stored till our return. Hubby strapped car seat and then child in. The next bit of fun was getting me in. The car was too low , hubby pops in side to be told it's the only car available. So after a struggle I get in. Hubby gets in and nearly sits on top of me . We are packed in like sardines. We are not huge either. Off we go. Get to the town centre to get the shopping. Again we have to haul me out as it is impossible ...

Quick review of Ford Ka 3 1.3i

I've had my Ka for three years now. I bought it brand new and have now covered 43,000 miles. Other than servicing and a rather annoying headlamp bulb replacement, it's never let me down. I do mainly motorway miles and it will cruise comfortably, although rather loudly, at 90 all day long. I regularly get 350-400 miles from a tank when doing motorway miles travelling at 70 mph The steering is weighted and the car handles very well around the corners, putting other premium brands to shame and a big smile on my face. Ultimately though, this car is economical, totally unpretentious and an absolute hoot to drive. ...
