Then there were four! I could not have foreseen this, I had no intention to stray! Most people know me for what I am, a faithful husband and a loving father. Life was complete, I was settled, loved, at ease with myself and those around me. What happened? Why did she turn me on? Pull me from the fold? Arouse such passion? ~~Her looks? Oh but you should see her, her curves, feel them, run your hand along her body, Arggh! I bite my own fist in a sorry attempt to control myself. Classic lines, created by fate, no this beauty is not fate, it must be of godly design! ~~ Her personality? You just ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only one plip key

My husband and I recently purchased a 2 Litre Ghia Automatic in metallic silver. Having driven a Renault Laguna for years, I was agreeably surprised by my first impression of the Mondeo. To begin with, I like the retro styling, with the black walnut effect interior and the silver colour of the door release handles, a finish which is echoed on the silver spokes of the steering wheel, on the hands and face of the traditional style clock, and on the outside with a smart set of alloy wheels. I love the 6 CD interchanger which allows a whole library of favourite music at once. And if you ever need ... more

Ford have long been the market leaders and pace setters in the “family car” sector in the U.K., and since its first appearance on the highways in the early 1990’s, the “Mondeo” has been one of its premier models, as indeed was its predecessors the “Sierra” and the “Cortina”. Never a company to rest on their laurels, Ford have come up with yet another winner in the new model Mondeo Ghia, which should succeed where it has failed in the past in capturing a large slice of the lucrative European market. EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR The model I took a test drive in was the 2.0 litre. The first thing you ... more

Advantages Advantages Top of the class for driving ability.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Horrible looks, Ford badge, depreciation.

The Ford Mondeo is hard to escape in the press at the moment. The weekly and monthly car magazines write about it all the time, there are adverts in the papers and a new one on TV. So, by now I will presume that you all know that Ford have an all-new Mondeo, unless, of course, you have been living in space for a while. I may as well admit up front that I can’t stand Ford cars. I hate them more than Nissans, but less than Vauxhalls. Their “new-edge” design is about as cutting edge as a Phil Collins record and they have all the prestige of a banana. Obviously this means that I ... more

I went to test drive the new Mondeo Diesel. The thing I noticed straight away was that the engine was a vast improvement on the old 1.8 turbo Diesel but still not quite as refined as the VW TDI Diesels. I found the car comfortable to drive with good visibility all round appart from the rear view whilst reversing. The quality of the interior is a million miles away from the old Mondeo. My Daughter rates cars on the number of cupholders they have and how they come out of their respective park points. Needless to say the Mondeo doesn't get rated as there are no cup holders in the rear (unlike the ... more

My first choice for a new car was the Renault Laguna.Thank god that my local dealer pursueded me to go for one of the new diesel(TDCi) engined Mondeos. My impressions of Fords in general have never been good,so i was suprised when i took one for a test drive. Price, economy and abilility to cope with three children were all high on my list of priorities.I went for the Zetec-s version, which has all these, plus a touch of style and sportiness thrown in,without looking like it is owned by a local boy racer. In fact the only difference appearance wise to the Mondeo ST220,is the lack of twin exhausts ... more

Well it came time to change my Mondeo (old style estate) last year, and I couldn’t make up my mind. With motorists being treated like foul spawn of Satan by the Government (and as a favourite cash cow) I was considering handing back my licence (only joking) and looked at various ways to cheat the chancellor. LPG? – It’s cheaper, but you’re banned from the channel tunnel. Bicycle? – It’s very cheap but limits your working radius, and carrying vibration analysers and heavy equipment is a real drag. Horse & Cart? - Good for the roses but let’s get real. Diesel? - Noisy, Smelly and Slow. I’ve ... more

Ford Mondeo Lx Tdci 2.0 All that i can say for this car is WOW! It is great! There is so much space inside, comfortable, FAST!, smooth and stylish! As you can tell i am very impressed with this car. It is my dads company car and the first time i went in his car was down the motorway! The mondeo reached 130mph but still had some go in it! It is very quick when putting yor foot flat to the floor! it has got lots of good features on the dash and always provides a good smooth ride! The only problem that we have had with it is that it has always had wind noise. Even the other Ford Mondeo Lx Tddi we ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor Performance

The old mondeo was driven's car of the year, but what has happened this time. The new mondeo 2 litre diesel is nothing compared to its predecessor. it's performance is very slow, 0-60 in 10.5 seconds, a disappointment. At around £20 000 it is one of the more expensieve models, and not worth it's money. The gear changes are very smooth and the car is very quiet for a diesel engine. It's overall appearence is very attractive. If considering, it may be worth to wait until the price has fallen to around £17 500, it's true value. ... more
