Advantages: Power, driveability, looks, ITS A FORD Disadvantages: Cost of purchase and running
...of this engine. Ford have matched the power to the gearing perfectly. You don’t need to drive like Alain Menu to get the most out of it – but when you do, boy is it rewarding – you can comfortably put the car into 5th gear at 35mph with out any complaints from the drive train.
All in all this is the peoples performer, a bit like the Frank Bruno of the car world. Tough when it counts, but available off season to entertain the kids!!!! ...

...that sports the sensual ford racing blue (some may say imperial blue) and a modified rear bumper alowing two exit pipes from the exaust system and also not forgetting the lovely 17inch multi spoke wheels which in my mind makes the car somehow look more masculine and butch compared to that of the st24 which is also a fantastic car. over all the car looks more agressive and purpose full and we havent got to the best bit the engine!!! however i will ... ...im predjudice because im a ford nut but it was so noticable to me i couldnt leave it out. any way this isnt about slagging off performance vectras and i hope it doesnt appear that way because thats not what i wanted and as ive said above the two rivals are very good cars but if you want somthing that is great and that little bit ahead with a good road performance car heritage with the likes of the cossie's and rs's with a bit of exclusivity thrown ...

...a must car for any Ford enthusiast that has a family to consider as well as wanting a car that will shift when you plant your foot firmly to the floor.
The Mondeo ST 200, (201 BHP but the name sounds better rounded off). This is produced from a bullet proof Duratech 2544cc V6 engine. The car has traction control and ABS to help you in any emergency situation.
The ST 200 was made from 1999 to 2000 on a T, V, W and X plate due to the revision of ... ...with most other sports cars, Ford have taken the basis of a family car and made a cross breed part family and part sports.
Suggestions for modifying this car into a better car are:
Upgrade the brakes to a perforamce pad and discs such as Ferodo's (Great pads and discs).
Add a K&N induction kit, Performance exhaust System (I used Scorpion) and a remapped ECU and you have 250 BHP at your right foot. Torque steer can catch you out but if you got ...

Advantages: Looks fast, goes fast and is extremely comfortable. Disadvantages: High fuel consumption and insurance group
The Ford Mondeo ST200 is the latest special edition version of the Mondeo. For £23,000 (£10 more than an ST24 or a Ghia X), you get an extremely exclusive car that looks the part, and has the performance to match. Ford special engineering have managed to squeeze an extra 37 horsepower out of the 2.5 litre V6 Duratec engine, made by Mitsubishi. By fitting a double exhaust to increase the airflow of the engine, and changing the engine management chip, ... ...tires, and it comes in Ford racing blue. ...two years ago, the new Ford Mondeo has been crying out for a more powerful engine to exploit the excellent chassis. And now it has arrived. The long-awaited hot ST220 goes on sale in Britain this month, priced at £21,745 as a hatch or saloon, or £1,000 more for the estate.
But is the right-hand-drive ST good enough to satisfy the keenest enthusiasts? After all, the ST200 version of the previous Mondeo failed to hit the target, suffering from a lack ... ...months, but only now does Ford feel that it is ready to hit the market.
Visually, the new car has much appeal. It is not as bold as its pre-decessor, opting instead for a subtle bodykit, under-bumper foglamps, xenon headlights and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels. The understated theme continues inside, too, with supportive leather Recaro sports seats, a small ST logo on the steering wheel, white dials and a black ash finish to the centre console. More ...

Advantages: Looks, speed and comfort. Disadvantages: Fuel consumption.
I've had the pleasure of using one of these for work and it was a great car, very fast in my opinion, sounded great and drove very smooth. The one I had was in metallic blue - a real eye catcher. It had half-leather seats that had a real sporty feel about them, it had air con, a six disc cd radio system, but not all of them come standard with one of those, power drivers seat height adjustment, front and side air bags. It had a 2.5-litre 24V Duratec ... ...accelerater peddle. They come standard with a nice body-kit that is not over the top and the alloy wheels really set the car off. If this is car you are interested in I would personally recommend that you go to a dealer and request a test drive and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. ...

Have owned my ST200 now for around about 10 months and still love this car, the power, the handling, a proper baby muscle car with its 2.5 V6 engine that sounds just so lush. With all the refinements you would expect from a family car, digital climate control, 6 CD Exchanger, Full electrics, but with all the looks of a sports car, from the RSA Bodykit, to the 17" alloys, twin Exit exhaust and Recaro Bucket seats for the front. The MPG is also very ... ...over 30mpg, and even when driven hard, never drops below 25. Many people see it as just a family car, until they see how fast it pulls, and just keeps going onto a top speed of over 150mph, and getting to 60 in under 8 seconds. All in all best car i've ever owned. ...
