Advantages Advantages Exterior looks are outstanding,Great fuel consumption

Disadvantages Disadvantages Pitiful performance, interior devalues the car

The Mondeo ST Tdci is undoubtedly an extremely attractive car compared to many of its competitors such as the Vauxhall Astra VXR and Volkswagen Passat. This car is currently priced from £22795 and to some it may appear a little over priced compared to similar models on the market so let's see if this car really does pack much of a punch. *~*Appearance*~* Them model I will be reviewing is a 5 door diesel engine. The Ford Mondeo has always been an attractive looking car and the ST is even sleeker and a model that definitely stands out with its distinctive Sports body styling kit complete with ... more

Advantages Advantages Sporty, fast and lovely to drive

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hard for shorter people to see over the back when parking

We have just brought a second hand one of these for £14,000. It's only a year old and we love it. It's comfortable, luxurious and a lovely drive. The silver colour is really nice and looks great when it's just been cleaned. We had a Volkswagen Golf and needed a bit more space as our family is growing. We looked at the Vauxhall Vectra but were not as impressed with it as we were with the Mondeo. We felt the interior of the Mondeo was far more superior to that of the Vectra. We wanted a bigger car but affording that in the VW range was too much of stretch It has great features that appeal to ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfort, full spec and a great engine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Tyres will be expensive!

I have now trapsed around various parts of the country in this car in the last 6 and a half months, clocking up 18,000 miles in the process over various roads (Motorway, A and B road). As such, I thought it was about time to share my thoughts on this motor. And what a very nice motor it is to. You get the good quality build that we have come to expect from Fords as a standard, in addition to the excellent non-option spec. This is what initially attracted me to the Mondeo in the first place - 6 CD Sony Stereo, more Airbags than you can probably use without being hit from all 4 sides at once ... more

Advantages Advantages Build Quality; Standard Kit

Disadvantages Disadvantages No Reverse Parking Sensors; EGR Valve; Noisy

I have owned a Ford Mondeo 2.2 TDCi Titanium X for 3 years. It was 15 months old when I brought it and was a great buy. I've done 55,000 miles in that time and overall have been very happy. I think that the amount of standard equipment that the car comes with is great. The voice control is good but we have found that we have used it only for making use of the blue tooth phone connectivity and have never used it for controlling the radio or climate control. Obviously built in blue tooth with voice control is a good piece of equipment in it's own right. We also found it really easy to ... more

Advantages Advantages Attractive, Comfortable, Quick and Efficient

Disadvantages Disadvantages Alloys beginning to flake

I've put 105 thousand miles on my Mondeo ST TDCI from new in 2005. Well, almost new, as a demonstrator model I picked one up for the standard price, but included a lot of add-on options such as Sat Nav, Zenon Lights and parking sensors. The ST is a mighty quick car, and working shifts and often finishing before the world wakes I get to use the full benefit of the 150 brake horse power. It pulls away from a standing start quicker than any Diesel I have ever driven, and I can confirm that it will reach the advertised top speed of 140 odd mph (on a track of course.) The Mondeo ST is quite ... more

Advantages Advantages Power, economy and looks

Disadvantages Disadvantages Badge (sorry, im materialistic)

i had a ST-TDCI for a weekend break in london (500mile round trip) whilst my old vectra was on its last legs (it legs have now gone and so has the car) and i can recommend it to anyone. I am a badge snob so when i replaced the vectra i opted for a bmw 3 series but the mondeo is right up there with the germans. firstly i noticed it has been rated as having pitiful performance? apart from first gear being a bit short and slightly gutless (i think they have a tourque limiter for first gear to prevent the power damaging the gear box) the car flys. The same engine is used in the newer jaguar x type ... more

Advantages Advantages MPG, comfort, value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Alloy wheel corrosion

I have owned my 2006 Ford Mondeo ST tdci for just under a year. In this time I have found the car to be realible and although its the ST model the servicing and parts prices are competitive. The standard spec of the car is high and will rival BMW, Audi but without the price tag. I regularly use motorways and easily get over 40mpg average and the high torque output makes overtaking a doddle. The car is a pleasure to drive and makes long journeys seem effortless. I would highly recommend the Recaro seats as an optional extra as these look more classy than the standard seats. On the down side I ... more

What a brilliant car i must say! We bought this car a few months ago now . \we got a brilliant price as the new mondeo was coming out. The car is stunning and gets looks all the time when we go out.Performence is brilliant torque is especially good. Top speed of 137mph is also very nice. Inside is very nice although it would be nice to have recaros at an extra cost of about £2000. Nice sony cd player which can store 6 cd's. Heated seats another great luxary, esp stability program, very big spacious boot , loads of room in the back for long journeys! Lots of compartments for storing things. If ... more

Advantages Advantages Gadgets inside the car, sleek look outside

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expect Tyres to be incredibly expensive

I've had this car for approx 9 months now, and have to say that I LOVE it!! I was a bit worried about the power and the size of the car at first (as I was coming up from a 1.4 micra), but this car is such fun to drive!!! Outside, the car looks stunning, and the alloy wheels are gorgeous (but watch out, they are a magnet for thieves, I've noticed a couple of marks on both passenger side wheels as though someone has had a quick fiddle with them). The ride is quality, and there is a lot of power under those pedals, especially once in 3rd gear and the turbo kicks in. Some people can be quite ... more

Advantages Advantages not a gas gussler, comfortable, looks good

Disadvantages Disadvantages the aloys are targeted by thievs

This car is amazing it is quick, comfortable, modern and has a very good reputation after the report on top gear, although it is not the more powerful st220 it can still be driven up to 139 mph. And when on the autobahn in Germany it was driven to 130 mph proving that the factory estimation isn't far wrong, the seats are warmed and the air con is very effective, the only bad points Are the attraction of the wheels to thieves and the cost of the tyres as they are low profile (around £355 for descent ones) the leather/cloth combination in the seats is very good as it stops the driver from moving ... more
