5 Stars Streetka 1.6 Luxury Review with images 14/05/2011

Advantages Advantages Looks - Comfort - Gear change

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fuel consumption - Road Tax

I have a 2004 Streetka Luxury. In my opinion the car is brilliant. Does exactly what is say’s on the tin - an affordable two seater with relatively low running costs. The engine is very robust and the gear change is just so good. The heated leather seats are amazing, especially on a chilly evening drive to the local beach and also hold you snuggly in its sumptuous leather. The hood - although manual, can easily be put up/down in under 30 seconds which is faster than many electric variants. (Just ensure the rear window is not kinked whilst pulling the hood down or you run the risk of the rear ... more

Advantages Advantages looks good, fast, different, convertible

    Disadvantages Disadvantages interior, in practical

Yes I had the Ford Streetka. When I was younger I always wanted a Ford Ka. Then when I started driving I realised how rubbish they are and went off the idea. Then I bought a Mazda MX5, nice little sporty convertible car. I got bored of this in 3 months. The Ford Streetka had just come out and I HAD to have one! I went to Birchwood Ford (really, dont even bother) and ordered a brand new Ford Streetka. I wanted it in grey with an MP3 player, which I wasn't allowed (another story) but I hear that you can get these in them. My Ford Streetka was the metallic dark blue colour, the Luxury model ... more

Advantages Advantages fun, trendy, noticeable, stands out from the crowd, excellent big boot for small car

Disadvantages Disadvantages girly car, lack of storage space inside car, dont know how to pronounce 'Ka'

I had seen these funny cars around town and thought they looked a bit odd but when the time came to change my tired convertible sports car for something more modern the Ford StreetKa suddenly became more noticeable. What can I say, its fun, it's fast, it's economical, it's everything you could possibly want from a car with two seats. The hood is very easy to operate by one person and can be put up or down in twenty seconds flat (which fits perfectly with the british weather!) I could probably put it up or down in about 15 seconds now that I am more used to it. The hood folds down into it's own ... more

    Advantages Advantages stylish/compact/

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not Safe!

I owned a 2005 streetka luxury 1.6 convertable for 2 years and have recently sold it. I remember the day i went to buy new car, I spotted one on the Ford forecourt and immediately fell in love with it. I decided to but a new one and wait a couple of weeks until march for the new 05 number plate. When it arrived I was over the moon.....Everything about the Streetka I loved, it was smart, stylish, compact (I'm only little!) and very smooth and easy going to drive. Everything was great other than the amount of petrol it seemed to drink! until one day i had an accident. I have been driving for 8 ... more

Advantages Advantages Economical, nice Drive, Looks cool. Nice and girly

Disadvantages Disadvantages Road Tax is expensive. Got the occasional Leak in the Poor Weather.

I Currently have a street Ka have had it for 2 and a half years. Not had too many problems with it. Although i think i might be starting to get a few now!! I like the car because they are small, easy to drive, good on fuel. They are however very expensive on tax for what they are. At one point i was paying the same as a 5.5 ltr Merc!!! I have had to have 2 new door handles on it one on either side as they broke and the doors couldnt be opened from the outside :-( Luckily enough not at the same time. I do also get a bit of a leak when it is windy and rainy. but nothing that you have to worry ... more

Advantages Advantages Great looking little car - love it!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Spare tyre is not easy to release (although I never do this myself anyway haha!)

Bought a StreetKa 15 months ago after wanting an upgrade from my Fiesta. Firstly, I love this car!! It looks fantastic (I have the dark metallic grey Luxury edition) - and for me to drives perfectly. I've driven (fairly) long distances in it, and it has dealt with this fine. The roof is very easy to use - although it may take a couple of tries to get used to it. The first thing I noticed when driving this after my Fiesta was the blind spots over your shoulder where the roof is - however my mirrors are now in the correct position, and this is no problem at all. One minor issue mentioned in the ... more

Advantages Advantages Small and compact and fun to drive

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Fuel guzzler

The Streetka is a fantastic car to drive, nippy and good on corners. Regards the interior it is a little plasticy in fact it looks just like a standard Ford Ka, with a bit of silver splashed around for addded colour. You get little in the way of extras although CD player comes as standard. It can fit into tight parking spaces and is ideal for those with shorter legs. My partner is 6ft tall and finds he cannot get the seat far enough back to be comfortable for driving, although he does manage occassionaly. The car is let down by the amount of fuel it guzzles! Be warned you dont get many miles ... more

    4 Stars Ford StreetKA 11/10/2005
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Nippy, stylish and cheap to insure

Disadvantages Disadvantages Space, quality of the interior

What more can you ask for, a cheap sport convertible designed by Piniferini (who also design Ferrari's) with a sporty engine? The StreetKA is a stylish car, aimed at the female market. The engine is nippy (around 100bhp) with plenty of torque (around 100lb/ft), so its quick enough to get you around with style and speed. As with any convertible, space is a precious commodity, but the StreetKA has plenty of space in the boot, allowing for you to put the shopping away, or university folders away from prying eyes. If security and a cloth roof qorry you, the StreetKA Winter Edition comes with a ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages The interior is a little bit of a let down.

This car is a beauty. What more can you ask for? It's a cheap, sport convertible, designed by Piniferini (who also design Ferrari's!) with a sporty engine... The StreetKA is a my kind of stylish car. The engine is good (around 100bhp) with plenty of torque (around 100lb/ft), so its quick enough to get you around with style and speed. I would personally say this car is aimed at more female than male. As with any convertible, space is a precious commodity, but the StreetKA has plenty of space in the boot, allowing for you to put the shopping away. It's also brilliant for university students, as ... more
