Advantages: widely available
Disadvantages: I'll tell you tomorrow

...telly with a can of Foster's by my side. Each can is blue in colour with Foster's written in white vertically up the side of the can. There is a gold band at the top and one at the bottom. Each can also has a picture of a kangaroo with the phrase Australia's Famous Beer underneath and the Amber Nectar written on top. My can is 440ml (you can get pint cans) and cost £6 for 8 at my local Spar. Foster's is not overly strong at 4% vol. Each can is 1.8 ...
...just spot on. The Foster's is a nice golden amber colour, hence the phrase the amber nectar. A few bubbles fizz to the top. Now for the taste test….. Firstly you will notice the slight fizz in your mouth. Not as fizzy as a can of coke, but just nice. Then the taste grabs you. Foster's has a nice bite to it but does not taste a strong as other lagers do (for example Kronenborg). It's a smooth taste of wheat and barley and one that lingers in your ...

Advantages: Cool, refreshing and oh so nice.
Disadvantages: Still not a Castlemaine XXXX

...spot takes some hitting pick Foster's and rest assured your thirst will be quenched. Today just before the world cup I was at another boot sale. Jackie wanted some new plants for the back garden so we were out in the morning heat looking around. I can honestly say that I didn't really notice anything. I was too concerned with the time and at 10:25 informed Jackie that the England versus Sweden game was about to start. Bless her but she tried to speed ...

Created by Irish and Brewed by Scottish

Advantages: Very refreshing, Does not have a strong hoppy taste, Widely available in cans, bottles and draught
Disadvantages: Can't really think of any other than too much alcohol is deterimental to your health

...the Fosters Brewing Group. Foster's is a bottom fermented lager beer based on the Germany style. When poured it produces a thick creamy head and has a hoppy taste that is not very over elaborated, which is usually not the case with German beers. It is relatively light bodied and crisp. Not to strong and not to mild. Just right you may say. Fosters is part of the Carlton & United Breweries Ltd, which is one of the largest brewing companies in the ...

Here in the U.K. it is brewed under licence by Scottish & Newcastle (so corroborates my heading in full). Foster's has grown to become the U.K.'s number two most consumed brand and represents 8.2% of the total beer market in the U.K. Last year sales were at a staggering amount ...

MUCH BETTER THAN A PINT OF HOOTERS BEACH

Advantages: goes down easily, great from draught, really refreshing
Disadvantages: none

I’m no Beer expert. I can’t tell you what strength a certain beer or lager is. There are those Real Ale Buffs who can cite the ‘original gravity’ and the type of hops used to brew that certain beer – plus the history of the micro brewery that it comes from. Sorry, that’s not me. I go on what I fancy. If it tastes good and really ‘hits the spot’ that’s for me! And with that as far as I’m ...
...– Foster Lager (apart from Fosters Ice, if course, but that’s another story and another op). There are days when only the best will do. You’ve had a busy day. It’s warm. You’re thirsty. Let’s face it, your throat feels like the inside of a dingo’s ball sack. You toddle off to your nearest friendly hostelry and they offer you a huge range of designer beers, then there are the draft beers on offer. From the ...

A light beer.

Advantages: Light taste, goes down well, popular
Disadvantages: Butt of a lot of weak beer jibes

Fosters is reknowned as an Australian beer, despite being brewed right here in the UK! Although it is originally from those parts, it has been adopted into the pubs, fridges and hearts of many a lager drinker over here. I tend to drink either this or Budweiser when im out. Bud, if it is a "bottle" drinking night or Fosters if its "pint" night. That is the thing. You are more than likely going to be given the option of Fosters on Tap if you walk ...
...to be the industry standard. Freely available and plenty of it. But why is this? Well, it is very popular with the beer drinkers in this country. History. -------- Started in 1888 The Fosters Brewing Company was formed in Melbourne by 2 brothers who had left America in search of fortune. Soon their beer was a big hit with the Australian people who apreciated its cold-served style in their hot climate. By the early 1900's however, the brothers ...

Gday cobber stick another shrimp on the barby

Advantages: Fruity and tasty, very well priced
Disadvantages: No one gives it away free!

My apologies if my title is offensive to Australians, they are not all barbecue kings! They have however, given us a fine lager and for that I will forever be in their debt! The Fosters Lager Brewing Company was set up in Collingwood (near Melbourne in Australia), by W.M Foster and totally unrelated R.R. Foster in 1888. Having arrived in Melbourne in 1886 accompanied by a Brewing expert and a refrigerating engineer, thier intention was obvious from ...
...that these Americans soon sold the business and moved back to New York. So contrary to popular belief, Fosters could possibly be conceived as an American lager! By 1901 it was sold world-wide, but didn't reach England until 1975. The British were used to drinking beer at room temperature and it took a while to convince the average drinker that beer could be drunk cold. But it has certainly caught on now and is certainly one of by favourite tipples! ...

Foster's is the largest selling beer in London and the biggest beer import in United Kingdom's history - although it can hardly qualify as an import as it's brewed in the UK by Scottish Courage. ** Over two million pints if Fosters are consumed daily in the UK ** One in 5 British adults (8 million people) drink Foster's every week ** 700 million pints of Foster's are drunk in Britain every year." ...unique flavour of flavour of Foster's Lager, is the result of the brewing skills of CUB, the choicest of malt, sugar and hops and the unique strain of brewing yeast. A light-coloured lager style, it presents full malt character with a balanced clean hop bitterness. Combined with a slightly hoppy, but yeasty/malty nose, Foster's lager is a full bodied beer with excellent drinkability. ? The Pour ? Fosters pours to a pale, clear golden colour with ...

Fosters - It's Like Canoeing

Advantages: The Best Of The Bunch
Disadvantages: If It's Warm It's Muck

Perplexed by the title? You will have to read my full opinion in order to understand the title. The Brand Fosters is Australia's largest brewing company. They had expanded into the UK in the 1990's, but have since divested most of their portfolio of UK beers, preferring to have an interest in the UK breweries, as opposed to owning them outright. Fosters in Australia now own some of Australia's premium wine brands, as research shows that Antipodean ...
...and drinking more wine. Fosters also supports major sports events - Formula 1 and The Melbourne Cup (horse racing) to name a few. The Beer The most common way to buy Fosters in the UK is in 440ml cans (or tinnies as Aussies call them). The alcohol percentage is 4%, and this beer is a lager, and is therefore a light golden colour. The UK version is brewed in the UK by Scottish Courage, whom Fosters have a partnership with. It normally retails at ...

MMMmm Watery BEER MMMmm Nice

Advantages: good beer.
Disadvantages: can be drab.

Australia. The men are all brutish and hairy, the ladies even more so. It's a land full of poisonous and vicious creatures and utter beasts like crocodiles. It's hot and dry and really quite horrid. It makes my lips start to dry up just thinking about it, not even my chap-stick can prevent my mouth from drying and crumbling. So one may expect an Australian lager like Fosters to be much like drinking petrol mixed with bleach (a random selection I ...
...fact Fosters isn't like that? Really it isn't! I know it's hard to fathom but I tell no lie. As I've said in previous opinions, I'm no beer fan and yet here I am giving Fosters lager five stars. My trilogy of beer reviews began with the vile of Carling, moved to the okay of Stella and now finally the last piece of the jigsaw is here, a beer I really like. Foster on the one hand lacks a kick or distinct taste -that may put some beer nuts off it. For ...

It Aint Great Mate

Advantages: Widely available.Not expensive
Disadvantages: A tad watery.

Fosters reputedly has been brewed in Australia since 1888 and this very popular beer is widely exported to North America, UK, India,Singapore and Malaysia,to name but a few export markets. It is now increasingly being brewed in local markets, including the UK. Whilst it has its supporters there are a lot of lager lovers who rate it as rather mediocre at best. Arguably it is Australia’s most famous internationally recognised lager beer. It is ...
...golden colour. It is,I suppose, a consistent, clean, smooth drink and is not too gassy. Foster’s has a mild wheaty taste and is pleasant but certainly not outstanding. There are far better lagers available such as Pilsner Urquell, Stella Artois,Budvar and Kovel. Its plus point is that it is widely available in pubs, off licences and you will find it is stocked in most supermarkets. In my view it has a very slight bitter aftertaste and is best ...

Review of Foster's Lager

Brewed for the English palate

Advantages: The real Fosters is great mate
Disadvantages: Pity you can't get it here

Why is it that when foreign markets brew a beer and it proves popular that the big Enlish companies bring it over here and then alter it to local tastes. As a result all foreign lagers taste exactly the same as English lagers and the original blend is lost. This is exactly what seems to have happened to the great taste of Fosters. In Australia and New Zealand, this is a fantastic lager. Light refreshing and with a slight Hoppy taste that really ...
...In it's standard form it is brewed to 5.5% and should be served ice cold. 15 million Australians and 3 million Kiwis love the taste and wuold walk the earth for another pint (sadly). In the UK it is usually served 3 or 4 degrees too warm and tastes like all the other lagers (Carling for example). It seems to have lost that delightful hoppy tang and this has been replaced by a slight tinny flavour that does it no good at all. Hence the reputation ...

Fosters...Australian For Water

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

This is an Australian lager beer which seemed to be brewed in anywhere but Australia. I'm not sure that I could tell the difference if it was brewed In Oz, the Uk or Uzbekistan, but well if you see it over here then the chances are it was brewed here or somewhere close. What you get for your money is a light golden coloured lager with a small head which quickly dissipates. Upon drinking you are met with a sweet taste with a rough, 'smoky' undercurrent ...
...Drank cold this is passable, but definitely not one of the best beers on the market. There is nothing too offensive about it, just nothing to make it stand out from the rest either which is a shame - because its relatively inexpensive as hence rather popular around the student bars of the country. Basically Fosters is Australian for water, but with mildly nasty after taste. Its of average strength, rather frothy and gassy, and absolutely FOUL should ...

Review of Foster's Lager

He who drinks Australian, thinks Australian.

Advantages: Good smooth taste.
Disadvantages: Cans too gassy.

The TV advert makes you believe that drinking Fosters Lager will give you the will to see the advantages in any situation. WRONG! Drinking Fosters makes you feel good; drinking more Fosters makes you fall over and drinking even more Fosters makes you feel bad. But, that is no different to any other lager, so what is different with Fosters? Fosters is a clear, smooth lager that always seems to be consistent in its taste. When I was younger I know ...
...objective during my student days would always be to arrive at the state of drunkenness as quickly as possible. Now that I am a bit older I don’t have so many drinking nights out (in fact fairly rarely) so it does not take too many drinks before the alcohol is taking effect. Fosters fits the requirements just right. It is a nice easy lager to drink that is not too gassy and has a good smooth taste. In the morning, the after effects from drinking ...

Comments from an Australian

Advantages: After three it tastes just like the next beer!
Disadvantages: Ain't what its cracked up to be!

I'll never understand how Fosters Lager achieved celebrity status in the wider world - as much as a beer can be, this average beverage has come to be a spokesperson, representing my country on so many occasions (for one example see the Simpsons down under). If anyone has ever been to Australia, there is no doubt they too would have noticed that barely anyone over here drinks the stuff (except perhaps the rich Sydneysiders who are only drinking Fosters ...
...you want to try a decent, less expensive beer from Australia with twice as much bite try a WestEnd Draught or a Victoria Bitter (the ol' VB). As you may already be able to tell, my review on this beer is derived from a cultural and everyday drinking experience more so than a strong knowledge of brewing or how an aftertaste of a beer can be characterised on the pallete. While I mean no offence to any other reviewer, I consider the average beer drinker ...

Oh to be young again...

Advantages: light, easy to drink
Disadvantages: after a few, break the seal, and ur goin every 20 mins!!

the joys of childhood, the first kiss, the first err you know what, and the first beer in a pub! difficult to put those in any sort of order really. but everyone will remember their first beer in a pub.definitely not the same as nicking some of dad's SKOL(the true king of beer) on a saturday evening. depending on age, and how much money was in your pocket, there would always be a few who would pretend to be conisieurs of the hops and barley and ...
