4 Stars mmm doughnuts, I mean low fat milkshake Review with images 19/12/2004

Advantages Advantages Less than 1% fat

Disadvantages Disadvantages Less fresh than you might think

It’s close to Christmas, we are all about to consume 3 zillion calories in the space of 2 days so I thought I would set you all on the path of righteousness or not as the case will prove. What was this review about again, oh yes, doughnuts, I mean milkshakes. In particular Frijj fresh thick strawberry flavour milkshake as quoted on the packaging. Before dedicating the rest of this review to the strawberry flavoured milkshake in the Frijj range it is worth mentioning that there are 4 other flavours in the standard range: Chocolate (yummy) Banana (too sickly for me) Vanilla (too boring) White ... more

Advantages Advantages Smooth and creamy taste, Fresh Milk, Less than 1% fat

Disadvantages Disadvantages Vanilla flavour can be hard to find

Once upon a time in a far off country, there lived a little girl called collingwood21. One day, she was sitting at her computer and you would have thought she would have been as happy as can be, and quite contented to stay where she was instead of wanting to run about the world meddling with other people’s property. But as it was, she was a mischievous little girl and could not resist going out into the woods at the back of her house. It was such a warm, pleasant day that she wandered on and on, until she came to a part of the wood she had never seen before. Now, in this part of the woods ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

Now I have to say I am a bit of a fan of milkshakes and happen to adore MacDonald’s Strawberry Milkshake, so when I seen Frijj (pronounced Fridge) Fresh Thick Milkshakes on BOGOF(Buy One Get One Free) at the BP Garage the other night the temptation was too great, well you know me, put a BOGOF in front of me and it’s almost a cert I’ll buy. Normally milkshakes are way too fattening but these are a bit of an exception with promises of low fat as well as calorie content, on investigating further I found 0.8g of fat and 61 calories per 100g, good enough for me then. I bought the ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages quite a lot of calories ( I think)

Frijj Banana Milkshake Do you think there are special cows that give banana, strawberry, chocolate and vanilla milk? Well! Some people thought the advert with the cows playing football was real! No it wasn’t me but, it was somebody I know and I’m not saying whom because she will feel really daft! I was in Alloa Tesco today and you’ve guessed it I bought more BOGOF’s They are usually about 84p each but I got two for that. Well! Four really as two bananas a raspberry and a chocolate just appeared in my trolley You are supposed to save money with BOGOF’s but I always seem to end up buying more as ... more

Introducing to you... its fresh, its thick... its FRijj. So why has become the UK's favourite milkshake? Here are my thoughts. Taste ----- Perhaps the biggest selling point of the drink. If I had to describe it, I would say it was somewhere in between, the sickly ice-cream milkshake from McDonald's and the powder rubbish from Nesquik. The liquid is thick but smooth, which slides down your throat just slow enough to ensure a strong aftertaste- which is good. A problem I've had with other milkshakes is that when you vary from flavour to flavour, I find very little distinction between each (am I ... more

Since joining ciao I have turned into a consumer junkie. No longer content with filling my shopping trolley with the same thing day in, day out, I am now constantly searching for new products and brands to review in search of those elusive VHs. And so when I made a quick visit to sainsbury’s to get some paracetemol on my way to work, I was delighted to find Frijj milkshake and I picked up 2 bottles to treat myself and share the experience with you guys and gals! ----------------- The Product ----------------- I had planned to be naughty when I picked up not one but two bottles of ‘fresh thick ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes really nice, good thick consistency

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit expensive for what it is

I decided today that I just HAD to tell you about this amazing product. If I don’t tell you how amazing it is, you’ll never know about it and you’ll never experience the taste for yourself! Frijj is an amazing brand who make stunning milkshakes in loads of flavours – you get the usual strawberry, banana, chocolate and others like toffee and the best of all, white chocolate (which is the one I will mainly describe as it is so lush). I was doing a spot of shopping in Somerfield, when I came across this on the milk shelves. I’ve drank the normal flavours before, as well as the other brands like ... more

    Advantages Advantages tastes nice

    Disadvantages Disadvantages very heavy

The other day while doing my food shop, I had come across these Frijj milkshakes on offer, I don't normally buy milkshakes as they are quite heavy but I have not had this brand in so long and I really do like their drinks. The other reason I was swayed was that they had all of the limited edition flavours which I had been wanting to try for ages and the one I am going to write about is the Cookies & Cream. My friend had this the other day and ever since then I was determined to try it for myself. PACKAGING The packaging on these drinks is very distinct, they come in a bottle made of plastic ... more

Advantages Advantages Smells Ummm, Tastes Grrrreeeeaaaat!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price

I like eggs and I loves my gravy, BIG style. But the thing that interferes with my pleasure when eating these is that my brain worries too much about the amount of fat and calories I am to consume. Now although there’s not much I can do about that, I have managed to find one thing that I really do enjoy, forget looking at Kylies backside or Jordan's chest or even winning the lottery, just open the fridge and open a nice cool bottle of Frijj! You see, Frijj is now less than 1% fat, thanks to the use of skimmed milk which is 69% of the drink. But this is something like many others enjoy to ... more

Advantages Advantages nice and thick... tastes like it should

    Disadvantages Disadvantages spoils your dinner

I'd read the opinions on this one and it sounded absolutely fabulous… It became my mission to find one of these and devour it! I walk past a Sainsburys local and a Superdrug most days and both of these stock Frijj o I knew I could get hold of some… it was just a matter or parting with 85p or my cash so I felt I should only buy it if I was in the mood to have some. That day came… I was quite peckish and had a 20 min walk from home… I was not totally sure just how crucial my hunger situation was… would I make home before keeling over in a hungry little pile unable to move further. I didn't want ... more
