Advantages: Ease of use, Great Quality Images at a budget price Disadvantages: Poor auto focusing in low light.
...entry level digital camera from Fujifilm was a clear winner for me in my research into a good quality point and shoot stills camera. After owning the Fujifilm A200s (see my reviews) I decided it was time to upgrade as my needs, as well as my skills had advanced. The 2 mega pixels of the A200 was no longer sufficient to print good quality images, was considerably bulky and could no longer really be considered a "compact camera". The A500 was the answer ... ...me to print large scale, as well as offering both a 1.8 LCD, a 3 times optical zoom and a range of scene modes. However, unlike previous beginner models it also offers a degree of manual control such as settings for film sensitivity (ISO), white balance and exposure compensation - this was key to my search. The included internal memory of 12 mega bytes allows the user to take pictures out of the box however it is strongly recommend that you buy at ...

Advantages: Small but perfectly formed Disadvantages: Bad PC package
...shops I plumped for the FUJIFILM FINEPIX A500. It has to be said I bought this mainly due to the price; I got it for £51.99 at Jessops (for my tiny student budget that seemed perfect!) Added to this I bought the accompanying printer which was in an offer, so the camera price seemed much more attractive. Though the camera is small but perfectly formed it took me a while to decide whether I actually liked it or not, lets just say it takes a VERY long ... ...perfect size, just over 8cm diameter, and a good shape for a handbag. It is a clear winner for any beginner, as I had never used a digital camera before but found this simple to understand. It has to be said that it comes with one of the thickest manuals I have ever seen- not that you need to read it because the workings of the camera are pretty self explanatory. So, starting from the beginning, what do you actually get with the camera? Included ...

...the chance to buy the Fujifilm FinePix A500 digital camera for £49.99 with the added assurance that if I wasn’t completely satisfied I could return it immediately for a refund I would have been a fool not be rip the customer service advisers hand off, which I actually did. What is my brief conclusion after using it for some months ... ...It was a steal and if I had to replace it now I would happily pay in excess of £100 for the same model it is that good.
Despite not being the best looking model on the market the FinePix A500 shouts out functionality rather style being both compact in size (dimensions and specifications can be located at the end of this review), lightweight even with the batteries in place and so easy to use that a trained chimp could install the software, use the ...

Quick review of Fujifilm FinePix A500
I am extremely pleased with my Fujifilm digital camera. It is easy to use and downloading the pictures on to the computer is simple too. The quality of the pictures is very good. Because it is small and compact, I usually have it with me whenever I go out - thus am able to snap those special moments that previously always happened when I didn't have a camera with me. ...

Advantages: Light, compact, easy to use, very good picture quality, movie mode, manual Disadvantages: Looks, not as slim as other models,
If you want a basic and simple point and shoot digital camera then this is an ideal choice. The picture quality is very good. It is small and light and can fit into your pocket. Ideal for travelling and nights out. Takes 2 AA batteries so you do not have to worry too much about recharging as you can just buy batteries in the shops if you run out.
This neat little camera uses XD memory cards. There are the usual various shooting modes such as portrait, ... ...if you are feeling a bit more experimental. There is also a handy self timer to get yourself in the shot.
The A500 also has a record movie mode to capture those special moments. Just make sure you have sufficient memory space as this uses up more memory.
Uploading your pictures is very simple, just plug into your pc's USB socket. ...

Advantages: easy to use, great quality photos. Disadvantages: not many- perhaps not ideal for profesional photographers
this is the first digital camera i have owned and i am very pleased with it. I wanted a camera that would take decent photographs without being too expensive and this camera has proved perfect as it was within my price range and the quality of prints has been excellent. The menu is easy to move around, there is an 'automatic' function, which takes care of the exposure, flash etc for you. Then there are other functions which allow you to take photos ... ...as thr flash and exposure can also be adjusted manually. The instruction booklet that comes with this camera is very clear and has helped me improve my photography. With a memory card you can print pictures from this camera in a photo shop even if you do not have access to a PC. For those with PC access, the software that comes with the camera is also very easy to use. The camera allows you to take short video clips as well which can be saved on ...

This is quite probably one of the best innovations I have ever bought! This is a small, lightweight, very-easy to use camera with fabulous picture quality and brilliant value for money (around £100). I initially bought this as I needed a new camera and with my baby's impending birth I needed something that took great quality pictures and was small enough to fit into my already full-to-bursting hospital bag! The camera holds hundreds of pictures and ... ...Plus, with the amount of times I've dropped it and kicked it along the floor by accident I'm amazed it's actually lasted this long! If you need something that is easy enough for an idiot like me to figure out how to use then this is a must buy! ...

This camera has a modern design and is very easy to use. I have found that many batteries do not last very long at all in this camera. I have tried many - te best I can find is Duracell m3. These seem to last for a longer period time.
The picture quality is very good. There are not a lot of extra features on this camera i.e. you cannot add borders to photos or extra items to spice up a photo! This camera takes xD cards instead of the ever so cheap ...

Recaived this for christmas, first one wold not work, in that you would switch it on, but the lens appeared to get stuck while it was coming out of the cassing. Sent back to the shop (Argos) and replaced for the exact same model. The replacment worked fine first time. Battery took a while to charge up, but after then it only takes about 30min, takes good photos out doors but indoors where it is dark they tend to come out with a 'salt and pepper' ... ...bit on the cheap side but it does the job. Not much in the way of settings for taking landscape photos, but as a point and shoot camera its not to bad.
Bought a spare battery and a 512 xd card for this from ebuyer. The included internal memory 12meg is not large enough to accomedate many pictures at a resolution of 5.1mp.
The optical zoom on unit is 3* with a further 4* digital zoom, however. The image quality can be reduced from 5.1 mega pixels ...

This camera is amazing. It has all the regular features you would expect from a high quality camera such as this, and it is light, small and amazing to use. When I first go this camera I was surprised how light it was. It looks great with its cute small frame and sleek curves and it still takes the same quality pictures as my friends much larger, heavier camera that was so much more expensive. You will be amazed at the things this camera can do!

Bought this camera from Argos on sale at around £80 back in the summer of 2006. Been a good camera & picture quality is good. Bought this as a replacement for a broken Vivitar which was still in warranty but Argos couldn't get repaired so I chose to replace with this. Great little camera, easy to use, a good range of features, good menu system, and good clear photos.
