Advantages: Features, Low-light capability Disadvantages: A little confusing to master and a little too expensive
The Fuji FinePix F70EXR is billed by the manufacturer as the slimmest 10x zoom camera on the market and, at less than 23mm in depth, it is certainly very easy and convenient to carry around. The zoom is great for magnification, being the equivalent of 27-270mm in 35mm terms, but I found it to be a little fuzzy at the long end. There is also a 4x digital zoom for anyone who wants it.
The FinePix F-series cameras are renowned for their low-light (high ... ...as it does the 1/2 inch sensor of the F200EXR but with 2 million fewer pixels crammed onto it. Also the EXR technology is great for combating noise on higher ISO shots.
Obviously the F70EXR is small, compact and lightweight and, in general, feels great to hold, with all the controls being conveniently placed – apart from the slim-line flash which I found was close enough to the shutter-release button to obscure with my fingers occasionally.
