Fujifilm FinePix S2950 / S2990

I purchased this camera through Amazon and wanted to be able to take photos outdoors when walking with my daughter. I also wanted to use it for taking close up shots of the products I made for my business. I had a small compact digital camera which was good, but when zoomed in, the quality was terrible. I own the Nikon P100 and my boyfriend has recently purchased the Fujifilm S2950. We both enjoy taking photographs but I think I take it a little more serious than Kevin. I spend a lot of time reading photography magazines and messing about with my camera, considering it a bit of a hobby. Anyone wishing to get involved in photography should be prepared to pay a fair sum of money, and risk carrying fragile equipment around with them. In my view, the Fujifilm FinePix S2950 offers the best deal for any aspiring photographer. The camera has many features, all of which are easy to access. The buttons are laid out well, and so it is easy to quickly change zoom rates and auto focus whenever necessary. One of my favourite features is the ‘blink detection’. ABOUT Fujifilm Finepix S2950 I bought this first camera of my life just because it looks like a DSLR camera, which is cheap and affordable. Its has a Zoom upto 18X and zoom to a good extent. 18X zoom actually means 18 times closer the subject. You can have a fair quality with the 14Mega Pixel camera which is not Bad but not too good either. Being a Part time photographer can definately confirm that the camera is an average one but you can no get this type of Zooming at this cost. I purchased this camera for about $200.00 (about 125 pounds). The price I paid for it was VERY appropriate for the multiple functions of the camera. The main function that I was looking for was the ability to change the shutter speed. I thought it was just beautiful the way people were able to manipulate the shutter to take pictures in the night that looked like they were taken during the day.
