Advantages: phenomenal battery life, quick, easy to use Disadvantages: no image stabilisation, awkwardly positioned flash
...owned a couple of other Fujifilm cameras and needing something to replace my aging compact, I took a punt on this and so far its proven its worth. To start with it fits well in your hand, is nicely balanced, not too heavy, your fingers fall naturally on most of the controls, and it has a nice solid feel. A couple of the buttons are a bit small and fiddly, but they're likely to be the least-used features so it's not a huge problem. The menus are responsive ... ...from fully automatic through to fully manual make this a good camera for someone who wants to learn the ropes before investing in a more expensive model. Before discussing picture quality and other aspects of the camera, I have to point out something rather special about this camera: the battery life. Using a set of regular Duracells, and with typical usage (a few flash shots, hefty use of the zoom, and under a wide range of conditions), you can ...

Advantages: High zoom, super macro and looks Disadvantages: Auto focusing can be a bit tempremental somethimes
When i opened the box for my Fuji S5800 camera about a month ago, I knew that I had made a good choice for my second camera. I still have my Pentax Optio S7 but I wanted a camera that would allow me much more creativity with my photos.
===LOOK & FEEL===
The whole look and feel of the camera is very pleasing to both the touch and the eye. The ruberized hand grip on the right hand-side is a perfect fit for the hand and the lens is just long enough ... ...The rest of the body is made from a high quality plastic which surrounds the lush 2.5 inch screen.
===LCD SCREEN===
The LCD screen is, well what can I say, brilliant maybe. I haven't really had much chance to test it in bright light but even if it was an issue, switching to the eyepiece couldn't be easier (the touch of a button). The screen is large enough to display all of the details in your picture and can display histograms, appature and the ...

...should write one.I bought the fujifilm finepix camera 6 weeks ago and i have got alot of usage out of it. trying to make my way from amateur photography to semi-pro i needed to upgrade my camera and after seeing reviews for this saying good and bad things i thought I'd give it a try. The first thing i noticed when holding the camera is how comfortable it sits in your hand, although it isn't the lightest camera i have used it is easy to hold without ... ...have said it doesn't reach the full potential i have found no problems if the settings are right.
It has 26mb internal memory and supports XD and SD memory cards. pictures are automatically saved as jpeg files and it also captures movies with sound and they are saved as avi files, which are small meaning you can take more photo's.It has a 2.5" lcd screen which can be viewed from side on as well as front on which means you can show people photo's ...

I feel its a shame my s5800 broke, although the s1000fd i have now has far superior quality it was a great camera, ---PICTURE QUALITY--- Along the Long timeline of Fuji cameras this is one of my favorite. its simple design is great and it fulfills its primary function, to take photos. The quality of the photos is above my average standard, and a little bit above any point and shoot camera, The Funjinon Optics Sensor in this camera is very heat sensitive ... ...will decrease image quality permanently, this is the reason why mine broke, Although it does have a faulty sensor Fuji have stopped recalls and will not repair it. if its in warranty you must take it back where you got it. the picture quality for the short time i had it functioning was good, all the settings suited the camera and it functioned as you would expect, like a high quality camera would. ---RANGE AND QUALITY OF FEATURES --- The S5800 has ...

Advantages: Small, simple to use, great zoom and creat quality pics. Disadvantages: Hmmm... the only one would be the viewfinder. A cover for it would be nice.
Do a bit of arial photography, and after upgrading from cheap microtech unit ( Well same price really) I found this S5800 to be perfect for the job. It's strange, but megapixels seem to come in different quality, because the 2 camera's were both 8 megapixels...but the quality of the Fuji out shines the Microtech 100 fold. Go figure! The other thing I like about this unit is the digital zoom...it is absolutely genuine and perfect for long distance. ... ...out in the field and thought I would test it for quality and zoom. These ducks were mere spots in the distance. I slid zoom to full, and snapped them. After downloading and viewing I was able to see the eyeballs of those critters as plain as day. I latter stepped out the distance...approx 260 meters. Wow...for the price this is much better than average. I have absolutely no reserve in recommending this 5800 Fuji to the average user. Well done Fuji. ...

Hello All, first of all, i'm from Belgium and i never learnd english at school, so forgive Me for my spelling. My S5800 is now 4 weeks old and made allready 2000 pics. I'm a big persone and the camera-body is small, but is still handy in My hands. Using the camera in "Auto" mode is very good. Its a very good allround photocamera. Just a litlle negatief point for Me personaly, I find all pics a litlle bit to blue, but easy to correct with the software how comes with the Camera.

Advantages: 8 MP, great image quality, beautiful colors, record video with sound Disadvantages: hard to use menu, a little heavy
I bought this camera almost a year ago and it still works perfectly. This is the third camera I own and is by far the best of all (my earlier cameras were Sanyo Xacti VPC-S4 and BenQ DC C1000). The 8 Megapixels are more than enough, and the 10x optical zoom works great. One of the things I like most about this camera is image quality. It's pretty cheap , about half the price of a DSLR. However, it manage to take amazing pictures, but not in all conditions. ... ...suffer. In this situation, it is recommended to use a tripod. The multitude of functions and programs that this camera has, do not recommend it for beginners, unless they want to learn the secrets of photo. Even if it's complex and, by this, complicated, the camera works very well on the auto mode. Colors are alive, powerful and realistic. Its easy handling places makes it suitable for almost any photography situation. The camera records video with ...

Advantages: ITS JUST FAB Disadvantages: Didnt come with rechargable batteries
I have recently brought this camera and if your are looking to buy and your price range is between £80 - £120 i would definately suggest this camera!!! Also if you are lucky Dixons had it for £74!! or there abouts but it always seemed out of stock, I paid £95 at Argos that was sale price as it would usually be aroud £120 so i would definately shop around as you can get it at a good price. The spec on this camera is great!! one of its best attributes ... ...are many functions and is great for a frist time user or someone a little more experience who will make use of all its manual capabilities.. This is a excellent camera and i would recommend to anyone looking to buy!!! 5* (altough you will need to buy your own rechargable batteries) I forgot to add my camera didn't come with a SD card but you can get them very cheap Aldis to 2x 2gb for around £8 ...

Advantages: great zoom high Mega pixel Disadvantages: doesnt give the full potential of te 8 megapixels
This camera is great for begginers with alot of cash to spend. Alltough you can get better cameras for less and although the 8 megapixels sounds appealing it isn't all that great. The basic settings are easy to understand. The optical zoom is great but avoid the digital zoom as it will decrease image quailty. I didnt get much use of the camera in the short few hours i was let loose with it but i got a few novelty shots for college. it does sit very ...
