Advantages: Lots of different functions, high quality images possible Disadvantages: Tiny picture card supplied, focus can be a problem at times
I've decided to upload a few of my first photos using the camera --see below

You can buy a FinePix S9500 from many places on the internet - the cheapest I found was Savastore @ £312.13 inc P&P.
Having had issues with Savastore, I opted for Ebuyer.com @ £312.47 with free delivery - worth the extra 34p for peace of mind when dealing with a known and trusted company.
In the box:

4 x AA Alkaline ... ...card (holds only 3 photos in 9MegFine mode)
Neck strap with FinePix logo
Lens cap with attached nylon cord 6"
Lens cap clip to prevent the lens cap from swinging loose.
Lens hood
A/V cable to view video and images on a TV (PAL or NTSC)
USB cable (high speed USB2)
CD with drivers and image software
Owners manual 143 pages Quick start guide
and of course the FinePix S9500 camera.

...then pop over to the FujiFilm website (also if you want to check out full tech specs)
To Conclude, i think this camera is the best thing since sliced bread! It is in a decent price bracket as well as being well featured, having a very high picture quality and a moderately easy to use interface. If you want to jump into the world of semi professional photography, but don't want an SLR, then i would recommend the S9500.

Advantages: 9MP camera with super CCD technology Disadvantages: Noise on high contrast photo,s
The S9500 sits at the top end of the Fuji range with a price tag to match, depending on where you look it varies from £290 to £350, although you can sometimes pick up a cheap bargain through the Fuji website which offers refurbed kit.
For all you techno's here are some of the specs:
Effective pixels. 9.0 million pixels
CCD sensor. 1/1.6 super CCD HR Sensor (means it's good)
Storage media. xD-Picture card, Compactflash, Microdrive
File format. ... ...Fujinon lens, F2 - F8
Focus. Auto, continuous AF, manual
LCD monitor is a 1.8" TFT which is also tiltable.
Exposure control. Program AE, shutter priority AE, aperture priority AE manual exposure.
I think that is enough of the techno stuff , let's discuss the good and bad of the camera.
Being at the top end you would expect the S9500 to take exceptional photo's, which it does, once you have learnt how to use it. This camera is the bridge between ...

Advantages: good quality colours pictures, light weight, lots of features Disadvantages: slow focus and taking shot
I bought my FinePix S9500 on ebay and the price was very decent! This is my second digital camera after my stepsons broke my beloved first one and I just love it. I take it with me everywhere - it's still quite light weight having the manual zoom lense. Being an amateur i enjoy the manual lense even though I mostly shoot in AUTO mode. I have one beautiful night picture taken with it and find great for night shooting.
I use the camera a lot for taking ... ...well for them, but action shots are difficult as I find focussing is slow if the object moves quite quickly. There is also that slow a bit shutter lag, that you press the button and there is a delay before the shot is taken.
But still I would recommend it. ...

Advantages: Good Out Door and Macro Shooting, Great Lens. Disadvantages: Low Light Shots are Tricky with out Tripod
My First Review has to be on my most Favourite Camera. Thou it is getting old and has been replaced by the S9600 which I have used and noticeable the only thing is the Bigger LCD. Advantages: Manual or Auto. Flip-up LCD screen. Ease of use. 9MP Disadvantages: Larger than most.
I chose the Fujifilm S9500 because of the many features it offered, 10x optical zoom, 9MP, Macro and Super Macro. There are approx 10 other settings to choose from Auto, Manual, Aperture and Shutter Priority, Portrait, Natural light, Landscape, Night, Anti-blur, and Programmed Auto, and finally Movie mode, several flash settings, and the ISO goes from 80 - 1600.*
I very much like the flip-up screen at the back, it is great when using the Macro setting ... ...you can take pictures over the heads of people and see what you are getting, rather than hope for the best, and the same goes for very low down shots, just flip it out and up and snap away. I have only had my camera for about 3 weeks and have already taken about 300 photos, I can honestly say I have not had one picture where I have had to get rid of red-eye.
I have bought a 1GB-xd memory card which will store approximately 450 pictures at normal ...

Advantages: Lots of megapixels, nice zoom, full manual options Disadvantages: Fixed lens, too much noise at 1600 ISO
This is my second Fuji camera (first one was s602) and have been immensely pleased with both of them. The main reason for the upgrade was to get a larger zoom and more megapixels.
This camera has everything from a fullly automatic mode to complete manual control. It also has AP and SP semi-auto shooting modes which make it easy to get the correct exposure.
I have found the 28-300mm (35mm equivalent) lens to be great quality. Nothing beats this ... ...but their price reflects this.
There are few disadvantages, one of them being a maximum shutter time of 4s in AP where as in manual the shutter time can go up to 30s. Noise of the images at 1600 ISO is also a problem - the photos at this setting are almost unusable, however only SLR's can perform better at this sensitivity.
Probably the best feature is the huge 10x zoom lens however picture quality is excellent, especially at 80 ISO.
Overall a ...

Advantages: Good quality pics Disadvantages: Big and bulky and complex settings
To be honest it takes a good quality photo of landscapes and social gathering pics, but it is clumpy to carry about - doesn't fit easily into a handbag or pocket and is complex to use. It took me quite awhile to get used to the settings and all of my holiday pics turned out blurred - despite looking great on the viewing screen of the camera. (Obviously I was using the wrong setting). It would make a good upgrade camera but I wouldn't recommend it ... ...of the better priced cameras of this quality and I would say that if you have time to practice with it and get a feel for it before taking on hols you'll have it sorted. Don't do what I did and buy it two days before you go away. You will have to read the instruction booklet.
You will need to invest in a carry case not only to protect it but also to make it easier to carry. ...

Advantages: all the features you need, good range lense, good battery life Disadvantages: grainy images at ISO1600 compared to cheap dSLR's
I have used this camera since august 2006, and have not yet come across a situation i cannot use it in. The versitile lense is superb, and the macro feature never fails to focus, even when the object is on the lense. In normal range shooting, the camera is fast and always focuses accurately. The telephoto is more then adequate for most photographs, and the manual lense makes it easy to frame the image just how you want it. The ability to use XD and ... ...can have them both loaded at the same time. Also, as it can use standard AA batteries, its perfect for buying batteries for emergencies, such as being out and about on a holiday.
The photos from this camera are brilliant, and sharp, especially at ISO 80 and 100. The range of features and settings is vast without being overwhelming and confusing. The camera itself also has a solid feel to it, meaning you dont constantly worry about damaging it. ...

Advantages: Performance of a SLR Disadvantages: Fixed Lens
The S9500 has the control of a proper prosumer digital SLR camera. Ideal for creative photography with a great shutter delay rating especially on RAW formats. Low light level indoor photography is still rather noisy but this is a common problem on the full digital SLR. Control and menu selection can be very fiddly especially when used in conjunction with the shift option. The digital view finder takes a bit of getting used to but does prove useful ... ...to be the best sub £500 camera that I have used. Advantages: AA Batteries, Ease of use, Macro function Disadvantages: Fixed Lens, No TTL
I inherited this camera a while ago from a friend who switchd to full SLR. The first time I picked up the camera I was nervous at the amount of different settings. I soon realised that the layout and OSD made this camera so user friendly and easily understandable for even the biggest photgraphy newbies like myself. A big advantage for me was the fact that it took AA batteries meaning that if I ran out of juice midday I could stop by a shop and refuel ...
