Never let me down. works great in every situation. real laptop to take it with you. light, I just added 1 gb more of 667mhz RAM and this thing is the best money can get. This version is with windows XP though, and I am glad for that :) Intel GMA 950 graphics are not for playing NEW games but at least it is totally quiet laptop. This is also very stylish cute little pc, 12 inch is enough for the most tasks. Feels like very well built even after 2 ... ...apps, Adobe light use, browsing, multimedia etc. Nice extra is DVI-out and optical sound for new monitors/TVs and switching between works easily with Fn+F3 combo.
Quality made cauze I know I been taking it in riugh places but still running as new. Only battery has rised from 4,5hrs to 2 hrs during this two years.
I HOPE fujitsu-siemens continues supporting this one with driver updates/patches. ...

My amilo s 1520 was purchased in december 2007, i bought it having bought my daughter the near identical version amilo pro 12 inch screen, in black. The amilo s 1520, in my view is very good value for money, you get a highly portable laptop that has dual core technology for around 700 pounds. The battery on my laptop lasts 3 hours using the internet with the included wireless connector. I think this is pretty good. The screen is very sharp, it is ... ...new laptops, the advantage being lack of reflection problems. It handles business applications and internet easily, i don't play games on it so can not comment on that. It does get warm particularly noticeable if using on your lap, however you do not get an annoying fan coming on, at regular intervals.
The great thing with this laptop is that it fits so easily into a holdall / bag and can be used on vacation or business trip with ease ...

easy to use but bulky charger pack .Very crisp,clear, sharp display.
Light compact easily portable. Good sound and colour.
The charger is far to bulky to be classed as portable. Also the CD Drive cover is not robust as it keep falling off.
The fully charged battery only has one hour capacity. This is far from ideal for and serious use. This would be a hinderance, if your on an long train journey.
It is good value for low middle end of computer ...

Advantages: Big disk, Lightweight, small, sytlish, good forr browsing and office functions. Disadvantages: Not fof gamers, No volume control, awkward placing of power switch. Supplied with MS Vista!
Battery life: Mine lasts at least 2.5hrs. If you reduce the display brightness you can squeeze a bit more out of it though. On first charge it only lasted about an hour, but all new batteries need a few charges to reach optimum performance!
The power adapter supplied measures 108mm x 47mm x 30mm (Li Shin International Enterprise Corp model 0335C2065). I don't think a much smaller supply would have the "grunt" to charge the battery. Perhaps the other ... ...DVI port, A DVI to VGA converter is supplied for legacy monitors, or if you only have a VGA cable.
One niggle is that the power button is at the point where you would pick the unit up, so is inadvertently switched off. Another is that the volume control is only via function keys. Otherwise this is a superb ,very light and portable machine. ...

(+) cool and quite robust trackpad, good display,64-bit windows 7 (-) few connectors,dell drivers only, not realy for gameing (most models), finger print prone!
