Advantages: Size, storage capacity Disadvantages: Battery life still disappointing
I purchased my laptop while on holiday in Hong Kong in May 2007. I had a number of criteria - light weight, screen smaller than 15", dual core, relatively large storage capacity and good battery life. I was also looking to pay less than 1000 GBP. It should be noted when comparing prices that there are various specifications available for the same basic model, in terms of storage and memory offered. It was recommended that I take the offer of double ... ...from lightening quick, and with half the RAM I don't know if I could have worked with only half the amount. I have not seen any obvious benefit from the dual core processor.
Of my initial requirements the battery life had been the only real disappointment. There are 3 power settings and whilst the performance does not appear to change greatly, the battery life is drastically reduced in "High Performance" mode. Estimates range from 1-2 hours, certainly ...
