make yourself seem clever in english lessons

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: nothing

this book is just useful to the complete max. i don;t think there is a guide book for the anthology which is just as great. for my gcses i decided to get cgp revision guides for absolutely every subject i took but i did think that the company was a bit overrated in many ways. the reason being is that many of their guides seem to miss out vital info but this is definitely an exception. there isn't anything they've missed out here apart from your own ...
...out on a different page with tha detailed analysis on a page beside it which is great whilst revising. the poem on the left hand side is anaysed in every word and so you begin to fully comprehend the poem and learn for yourself what the poems mean to you which is vital during the exams. even if you was to take the foundation level i would go get the higher level revision guide because extra information never harmed anyone and it may just boost you ...

Beneficial buy to boost your engligh grade.

Advantages: The poems are annotaed clearly, and concise. It gives model answers to typical exam questions.
Disadvantages: The book does not go into enough depth for revison.

...for Paper 2 of the GCSE English exam and is aimed at the AQA A specification. I have used this book for my revision and found it to be quite helpful. It includes all of the key poems needed and annotates around the poems significant points which are helpful to include in the English exam. It also includes how to write an essay, which is very helpful. I often write down lots of points for an essay and then I am unsure as to how to start it, so I found ...
...for someone taking their English GCSE it is helpful to start your revision. Although I would make sure you don’t just rely on this book for your revision and that you make sure you use other sources to make your notes more in-depth which in turn will help boost your grade. For all the students taking the GCSE English exam this year, Good luck! ...

Poems from Different cultures

Advantages: Good context for the poems
Disadvantages: Not detailed enough in term of language

For a GCSE in English Language, Paper 2 requires an essay on Poems from DIfferent Cultures. This CGP book mentions the key points which are needed about each poem, including themes, context, information about the author, emotions, and language. Although the context of each poem is useful, I do not feel the language points made for each poem are enough to obtain a top-end grade. I would recommend York Notes instead. However, it is a good starting ...
...on the notes provided, and perhaps include their own annotations. This book is particularly useful in providing model essays at the end, which are good for learning how to structure the essay, as well as help in choosing the best poems for the question. I do not feel that this book is detailed enough to be the sole point of revision, however if the student is willing to add their own language notes in particular, this is a good starting point. ...
