    1 Star GHD Iron Oil Review with images 16/03/2005

    Advantages Advantages smells nice, attractive bottle

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the price, it doesnt do as it says, leaves hair very greasy

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GHD Iron Oil ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is now a year since I received my beloved GHD hair straightening irons and I would not be without them, however with my straightening irons I got a spray bottle of ghd iron oil and it has been a bit of a disappointment so I decided to review it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ About GHD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Many of you will have heard of the name GHD (which stands for ‘good hair day’) in relation to their famous (and rather expensive!) hair straightening irons. In the last two years GHD have become an extremely famous creator of salon-professional ... more
    There is so many opinions on this website about GHD (Good Hair Day) straighteners but none yet about their iron oil so i feel its only fair to tell you about this!! In "The Salon" style of things - Have your heard of GHD?? Well many of you will know (and for those that dont i shall tell you!) that GHD are famous for ceramic hair straighteners. These in my opinion are one of the best straighteners money can buy and will set you back approx £90.00!! Before you pass out with the price all i can say in the defence of the makers is that they are worth it and are a true investment!! Once of the ... more
    Advantages Advantages COMPLIMENTS THE IRONS
    Disadvantages Disadvantages CALLED IRON OIL BUT DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY??
    I purchased my expensive, but very well worth the money GHD straighteners a few months ago, but I felt as if I should invest in the GHD iron oil spray - as it tells you to in the instructions for the starighteners. I was told that you can't buy this in the shops, and only a few salons sell it, so using my good old faithful internet, I decided to go surfing (not literally!) and try to find some, after a while, i'd came across a few websites that would send some to me when they had received payment, they were charging around £16 for 250ml, However, I soon worked out that it would be much cheaper ... more
    Advantages Advantages Smooth, sleek, conditioned straight hair for one day!
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Awful overpowering smell, expensive, messy, makes hair greasy quicker
    I bought a pair of straighteners and received a free bottle of GHD iron oil with it; I was extremely pleased as I didn't have to pay £10-15 just to try it out. The black bottle looks great and you do feel like you are using an exquisite product and even more so by the entire buzz surrounding their popular hair straighteners. The product says that is a "Oil-free', so why they stated it is an oil is something which has baffled me, but I guess if it mimics the benefits of using oil during styling, especially where heat is involved, without the oiliness (which is not something many people aspire ... more
    Advantages Advantages silkier healthier effect
    Disadvantages Disadvantages if too much used can get greasy looking
    FOR MORE INFO visit- http://www.ghdhair.com For a picture of bottle-http://www.edirectory.co.uk/pf/images/products/1283/images/ghd-oil.jpg I purchased the iron oil a significant while after the purchase of the straightners themselves after seeing my hairdresser using it on my hair and feeling the effects of it. I purchased the bottle for £13.50 at my hairdressing salon. It is 250ml. I think that this is a good purchase because the bottle lasts a long time if used correctly. Mine lasts aprox. 3 months. Although named 'Iron Oil' It is actually an 'oil free formula' with the main ingredient being ... more
    Advantages Advantages Stops frizzy hair and protects your hair if you use straighteners
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Cost might seem a bit steep - but product lasts for ages
    I've got quite thick, straight hair, but I use my straighteners when I want it extra smooth. The problem I have had before is that my hair looks frizzy, dull and dry no matter what I do. I have tried so many different serums, I could open my own shop! If only I had bought GHD iron oil first! Its made my hair look like it does when I have just left the hairdressers - smooth, shiny (but not greasey) and it looks in great condition. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has suffered from frizzy, unruly hair! You don't need much - dry your hair and give it a few sprays with GHD iron oil ... more
    User doesn't recommend the product
    Advantages Advantages Smells reasonably nice
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesnt really work!
    As you have probably noticed from my previous reviews, I own a pair of GHD hair straightners and were the best 95.00 I ever spent. After owning these for around 3 months, I heard about GHD Iron Oil and thought they would compliment the finished look that the irons produce. It is packaged in a black pump action bottle and is 250ml in size. I paid 9.95 on Ebay for mine but you can pay 15.00 quid for it so it is very expensive. You would think that at that price, it would do exactly what it says on the bottle 'achieves straighter smoother hair, improves hold and shine and helps protect against ... more
    Advantages Advantages stylish packaging, sometimes free with GHD straighteners
    Disadvantages Disadvantages leaves hair greasy and sticky!
    I purchased this along with the GHD straighteners and unfortunately was rather disappointed. It often comes free with the GHD straighteners so might as well give it a whirl if you get it free but don't expect anything! It costs around £7 - £10 and I imagine the bottle would last a long time so if it worked depending upon where you buy it from (only available from websites and hairdressers not pharmacies/supermarkets) it would be reasonable value. It can be used before straightening or blow drying the protect against damage and heat. As I only used it three times I can't tell if it really ... more
    Advantages Advantages lasts ages, nice fragrance, not 'oily', helps keep hair straight
    Disadvantages Disadvantages pricey, hit and miss applications if you apply yourself
    ------INTRODUCTION------ As a hair straightening addict my hair goes through pleanty heat damage stress. Luckily, I came to know of GHD iron oil when I purchsed my first pair of GHD ceramic straighteners. I must add that I'm thoroughly impressed with the iron oil that GHD offer, mainly because it's pretty light weight so doesn't weigh your hair down or clog it up and leave a nasty residue. ------WHAT IS IT?------ GHD iron oil is a protective (strangely oil free) spray that you use prior to styling with straighteners. It provides a protective barrier against thermal damage, and replaces ... more
    Advantages Advantages Does what it says!
    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can leave hair greasy looking if you use too much.
    I have battled with my frizzy thick hair for years and have spent a fortune on products that claim to give me sleek, smooth and shiny hair. Noneof these have ever worked, until now. My hairdresser introduced me to GhD Iron Oil and I thought it was fantastic. At £13.45 for 250ml I thought it was rather pricey, but loved the results of my hair at the hairdressers. Even though I didn't own the GHD irons I decided to treat myself anyway. I used the product on wet hair before styling and saw a huge change in my hair. I have since purchased the GHD irons and my hair is now sleek, smooth, shiny and ... more
