5 Stars Fantastic straighteners from GHD! Review with images 10/12/2011

Advantages Advantages Very easy to use, glides through my hair easily, heats up quickly, leaves my hair sleek and smooth

Disadvantages Disadvantages Fairly pricey and this exact model can only be bought now from amazon (as far as I am aware)

GHD Salon Style Hair Straighteners - Wide Plates I have been using these GHD straighteners for nearly two years now I think. Myself and my sister use them and we both think that they are amazing! We have the wide plate version but there is also a normal version and one with even smaller plates than the norm. - About the product This straightener has really wide plates, wider than any normal hair straightener, which is fantastic for me as I have long and fairly thick hair. There is an on/off switch and a LED light that flashes until the product is fully heated and ready to use. There is not ... more

Advantages Advantages Sleek hair, long lasting styles , versatile,

Disadvantages Disadvantages The salon styler size probably a little large for shorter styles, the initial expense

I have been using hair straighteners for years, as a teenager poker straight hair was the only way to style your hair. Almost every Christmas I would ask my parents for a new pair of hair straighteners always seeking the product that created the straightest style. Around 5 years ago I decided because I was no longer at an age where I could depend on my parents to purchase hair straighteners and decided to purchase myself a pair of GHD’s because although expensive every hairdresser I spoke to recommended them as an essential investment. After 5 years of GHD’s (the GHD IV styler) I decided ... more

11.03.04 - I just got a diamond for this - thanks everybody. xx I admit it. I have just spent £94 on a pair of GHD Professional Ceramic Hair Straighteners. Now I'm not proud of spending that amount of money on a beauty product but stay with me, read this and you'll be hooked. I have nightmare hair. Until I was about 16 it was poker straight hair. I could wash it and leave it to dry and it dried just like I had come out of a timotei advert (only with brown hair not blonde) Suddenly adolescence hit and my hit turned frizzy, wavy and basically was a shadow of its former self (I blame my dad he ... more

    Advantages Advantages They actually work!

Disadvantages Disadvantages They're don't come cheap

I’ve been meaning to write a review about this wonder product for some time now but what with one thing and another I’ve just not had chance. However, I simply couldn’t put it off any longer. I hate my hair. It’s simply horrible. I honestly can’t stand it! Wavy, frizzy, generally downright yucky hair. Even with the help of BaByliss Straight & Shine hair straighteners it failed to impress me. I used to have really long hair, it was much finer than it is now and was relatively straight and non-frizzy. I took the plunge and had it cut to shoulder length aged about 10. I can honestly say that is a ... more

5 Stars Big straighteners for big hair! Review with images 03/01/2009
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages wider plates, brilliant brand, saves time, great effect, minimal heat damage

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive!

My hair is big. There seems to be too much of it and it has a natural curl to it that without gallons of mousse ends up as just a big fluffy fuzz!!! It is impossible to wear my hair down in its natural state as it just looks ridiculous. Filling it with mousse to curl it is hard work and costs me a fortune in styling products! I would love to have naturally straight, sleek hair but I do not. Therefore, hair straighteners are an essential if I want to wear my hair down and not look like a clown! I owned a set of the original ghd straighteners for a few years, which I was very impressed with, but ... more

Advantages Advantages Heat in seconds, Can straighten and curl, really work.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The initial price.

I have always had very thick hair, even when I was a young child. Up until I was about twelve I always had it long. I had the occasional trim but it was usually down to my derriere. Being so long and so heavy, it was always fairly straight. Then the bob came into fashion, and in a spur of the moment decision (which I always regretted) I had it all chopped off. Suddenly I was spending an hour every morning trying to get my hair to curl under. It was very defiant and would always curl the opposite way. In fact I had even been banned from a hairdresser as they just couldn't style my hair. I gave ... more

I know there are already a lot of reviews about this gem of a product and that I have probably missed the boat here but it is only in recent weeks that I have been introduced to ghd straighteners in earnest and I cant help but want to write about them. I am actually sitting writing this sporting my newly straightened hair, which might not seem much to write home about but believe me, this is an achievement not to be underestimated… I have naturally very curly hair, if left to its own devices it will curl and frizz to its hearts content… on better days I can get some decent looking ringlets out ... more

Advantages Advantages Smooth, sleek, fabulous hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages Your bank manager won't like you very much

Not only am I a typically materialistic teenager, but I’m a sucker for anything which I know is the best of the best. Which is why I blew my entire savings (£87-man I’m rich!) on GHD straighteners. GHD, or good hair day, are renowned throughout the hair industry as producing not only the best, but the most expensive straighteners out there, and are used by celebrities, celebrity hairstylists and the best in the business. So of course I had to have them. This is the part where I brag about them. They come fully equipped with: • Ceramic plates which heat up to 210 degrees in 7 seconds • ... more

Curly, Straight, Spiky, Short, Long, Fringe, Who knows what the next hair trend is going to be and who even cares all you need to know is that GHD Straighteners will be able to achieve the look. WHAT ARE THEY? For those of you who have never heard of GHD straighteners your either bald or happy with your hair but for the majority of us who need a little help taming our locks there are the fantastic invention of GHD Straighteners how did we survive before they were invented? Being a former hair stylist, word reached me quite a while ago about ceramic hair straighteners. Me, being me, (nosy and curious) was desperate to try these so called ‘miracle’ straighteners, but decided against it when I found out the cost (around £100). To be honest, it wasn’t the cost that bothered me too much, it was more the fact that I hadn’t seen a pair of them in action, let alone had a go of them myself (plus there was no way my hubby would let me have them without actually knowing first-hand how they compared to my conventional £20 odd Nicky Clarke straighteners). Anyway, I put them ... more
