Advantages: Focused on good music Disadvantages: A lot of repeats
Galaxy 102 in Manchester is the only station I know of that focuses solely on the music. None of this hours of adverts and presenters droning on. I personally like many others tune into Galaxy for good music and thats what I get. There is always the mot recent RnB hits and you can also always catch a good ole classis like Sisqo or Micheal Jackson. Then, as I'm getting ready for a night out all the club tunes are layed nonstop with no interruptions.
... ...the most individuals things about Galaxy is that there is much less adverts than other commercial stations and during each advert break, there is category exclusivity which basically means there won't be more than one type of advert ie only one car ad, only one sports shop ad etc.
Galaxy is easily available in all areas of Greater Manchester and its part of the Galaxy network across Britain. ...

i love galaxy all dance music and hits what could be better???
Anthony and JOJO, how cool are they. Alex pepper, Neil Bentley all fantastic people, lucio in the afternoon, wow, how great is this???
i won tickets to the galaxy bonfire a few weeks ago, and i have never ever had such a good time, the atmosphere was great.
neil bentley and alex pepper were amazing people, i even saw them in the leeds love parade.
Galaxy just gets better and better, ... ...definatly a good reason to get out of bed in a morning.

Advantages: Fun all the way Disadvantages: Saturday nights trancy dance
I listen to Galaxy fm every morning before taking my children to school.
The morning shows are so funny listening to people phone in live on air telling their mad funny stories with the djs taking the mick at any given chance which makes it even more hilarious to listen to.
Their are endless amount of competitions all day and night on Galaxy fm i won a pair of Alicia Keys concert tickets for July just gone all i had to do was simply name the song ...

Advantages: Good nationwide reception, good dance music Disadvantages: Mainly dance music, can be repetitive sometimes
Galaxy FM is available nationwide, and a good thing too. I moved from London to Bristol a few years ago, and missed Kiss FM a great deal, as I was now outside it's reception range, and used to love the dance mixes they put together.
Then Galaxy came a long, and their up beat mix of club scene/dance music really livens my day up. They must have a play list to work to because some tunes get a bit more airplay than others, but overall, if you are driving ... ...is a good cross section of music styles throughout the day, and the DJ's are, on the whole, very entertaining.
Galaxy FM is number one for me, but obviously not for everyone, if you prefer pop or mainstream for example, stick with good old Radio 1. ...

Galaxy 101 is the best radio station in South Wales and the West. It has a good variety of music, mainly dance, trance, house, garage, etc. In the week they run competitions, usually in the morning, the last one I listened to in the morning was one where you had to guess films, from a clip read out by one of the presenters. In the afternoon they have a cool DJ, Steve Denier, who has mystery workplace of the week, were you have to guess where someone ... ...plays the newest songs in the Twin Pack, where you can win a crate of Vodka every Thursday. Most of the music they play during this time is chart music.
The weekender has to be the best one on any radio station. They keep shuffling around the weekend shows, dropping old ones, and picking up new ones. The best show they have has to be on a Sunday night from 20:50 to 0:50 the next morning, this show is the R&B show and has the biggest tunes ever!!! ...

Advantages: 30 Mins no stop, good music Disadvantages: repeats some songs ALL the time, dodgy news slots.
...lucky enough to qualify was Galaxy even with much competition from Country stations, Rap stations etc. etc. Now they have the station there making sure they make a BANG with great songs, remixes and some dodgy presenters - have a listen and youll know what i mean - its not easy to put into words.
They do play a good mix of music and have some great competitions, however there new slots are at dodgy times and have me completly confused - there at ... ...mins NON stop. And with Galaxy thats exactly what it means, no adverts, no presernters cutting in, no nothing - well apart from the occasional "This is the Newest mix for the norteast - Galaxy 105-106" jingle.
If your young and want a change during the sport seasons to listening to Metro and Magic, here you go!
The only things to watch out for are the weekend slot where all Galaxy stations in the UK link to one - its usless, real boring - zzz and ...

Galaxy always seems to get plenty of public input into the show. People can contact the station by E-mail, Fax and phone. They even have a great online show. They usually play any song I E-mail them to play and if they can't they always reply with an apology. Ah Galaxy 101 - whatever went wrong eh?
I'm not a lover of commercial radio - radio adverts are six times more annoying than tv ones, but BBC Radio gives you too much chat and lousy DJS so I tend to have this on if I'm in the car etc.
Galaxy 101 sees itself as something of a Dance Music Radio Station, but realising that in order to generate mass appeal you have to generate music for the masses the station has weakened its playlist and gone to a ... ...big in the charts, then Galaxy will find an excuse to add it to the playlist - even if its blatantly not dance music. Shania Twain, Robbie Williams, Billie Piper - you'll hear them all on Galaxy if you're really unlucky.
The station is good at giveaways/competitions - I've picked up about three cds in my time so can't fault them there. Most of the DJs are ok - they play music all day - its not hard is it? The station has its own noxious breakfast ...

Galaxy FM has got to be my favourite radio station, it broadcasts over the whole of the UK with great sound and signal quality all over. The best part of this radio station has got to be the breakfast show. The breakfast show is presented by ANTHONY + JoJo, the show features lots of great competitions such as 'DUFUS OF THE DAY!'. Dufus of the day is not really a game but just for entertainments sake, the games judge called judge sheran decides who ... ...day of the week. Galaxy is most famous for its dance music as they call themselves the 'UK's biggest dance network'. They also cover other grat music types from R'n'B to Older Music in a show called 'Centuries Apart'.

I just cant stand this radio station it is the Bristol one. G A L A X Y 1 0 1 - play a selection of 10 or 11 songs throughout the day, over and over again, and the D J 's just are not funny at all cam and sally in the morning are highly camp and just a complete joke. they have no d j skills either, you sometimes get complete silence for up to a minute, and wonder if they have died or something. I always listen to Galaxy 105 in the morning on the way to work and absolutly enjoy Anthony and Jojos morning slot. They have such a natural bonding and come up with the most amusing and bizarre ways to entertain the listeners. The music is very up to date and i also like their attempt at playing a record from a decade ago some of which bring back memories. I particulary liked the competion for tickets to the Star Wars exibition in Bradford when ... ...the nude racing in the Galaxy 105 car park or the lovy dovy sweet talking to partners and Anthony had to demonstrate with natalie his fiancee i felt so sorry for him until it sounded like he was enjoying it. They also have great competitions and give large amounts of money away. Tune in now you wont be dissapointed. ...

...music. My favorite show on galaxy is Steve & Karen in the morning. It really wakes you up and puts you in a good mood for the day ahead. They have phone ins for competeitions and request shows e.g the net 4 at 4, this is when you vote online for your favorite songs and at 4pm the top 4 songs are played. Then you have the top 8 at 8 which is the same but at 8pm. In the mornings they have a game that they play called battle of the sexes, where girls ... ...in the north east. The score is taken and at the end of each month the presenter whos gender has lost has to do a forfit. I think its brilliant and i would recommend it to everyone, you can also listen online at www.galaxy1056.com i recommend you to go and check it out!! ...

Advantages: Ammount of new dance music Disadvantages: Adverts
Well, Galaxy FM sure is a good local radio stations. One of its best qualities is the ammount of dance music it plays at night. You’ll often find that radio stations (especially radio1) are a bit boring at night and it’s the time where either the obscure music or love songs come out to play. Well, not on Galaxy 105. They probably realised this and took advantage of the gap, and they have filled it well.
Galaxy can be found in about 6 ... ...probably expand further. The main types of music you will find on the show are pop and dance and new, up and coming music. You’ll also get the local news and weather aswell as the national news.
A lot of people complain about the adverts, but I don’t see them as being a major problem, they only air from 5-7 in a row anyway and without them the radio station wouldn’t be around. But, they do have a lot of ‘back to back’ ...

...The best thing about Galaxy 105/6 FM is that it is a local station, however on the weekend it joins up with all the other local galaxy stations from around the UK to become a national station. The music played is current chart music without loads of boyband stuff which is great, and for an hour each lunch time they play the old school all request lunch where listeners can phone in and request their favourite songs from the past 15 years. Galaxy is my favourite radio station of al times. (followed by radio 1 and metro). I like the way it plays both new music releases and songs from a while back. I also like the way it plays different types of music at different times, like dance at night time and so on. The only bad point about galaxy is that it has alot of adverts all the time which can get a bit boring when you put a radio station on to listen to music. It also starts has talking ...
