We bought this game just after christmas because we'd been given some gift vouchers that were to be used for the whole family. Everyone had to compromise and we picked The Game of Life because it could be played by all of us (ages range from 7 to 35). We could not have picked anything better, even my sixteen year old daughter enjoys playing this. It's fun, colourful and just long enough to be intersting without being boring. Now I have to admit first putting the board game together to seemed to say that my next 30 or so minutes or play would be like any other family board game ive played. But no not this-this is in a whole other world of its own. Ok now fair enough its layout and aim is pretty similar to other games-move your piece (in this case your car-unless you find yourself in a similar situation and have too ... ...real life? Well though perhaps Game of Life is alittle simplified it certainly made me think about what im doing. I mean if one friend can end up with close to 100k by the end of the game without going to uni-why can't I in real life? Perhaps not the best way to consider life's important descions, but hey, it got me thinking.
All in all-even if family games aren't for you (I know playing anything with my three bros is a daunting enough prospect) ...

The game of life is one of those games I should really love - it has so many redeeming features. It is a board game in which you progress around a board making, or being dealt, "real life" circumstances - all of which relate to money. After choosing your career (or having it chosen for you by chance), the rest of the game simply involves getting married having children, winning the lottery a couple of times, sueing every man and his dog - and eventually ... ...angles. It is a game where you simply progress around a board, collecting large amounts of money. Theres nothing you can really do with the money, except add it to a large pile, and count at the end.
It is a game which at first appears to be great - and it is in theory. In practice, it is a game with no skill and no real interest. Simply half an hour of collecting money, which after the first couple of games becomes a little dull.

The game 'game of life' is a simple game for all of the family to play. You start of as a teenager and travel through all the main stages of life like marrage getting a job and having childern in a car.

You start of in a car and each turn you get a salary, throught the game you have to get married, have childern get life insurance and a job then eventually retire. To finish the game you have to get to a millionaires manshion, and the player ... ...At the start of the game all players are given salarys which go form about £12,000 to £30,000 and the salary given could determin the winner of the game from the start, as one person could get a salary on £12,000 and the other person could get a salary of £30,000 which is an unfair disadvantage (well i suppose just like life) ...

This game is such a classic,anyone that doesnt like it must ahve something wrong with them.Its a basic idea and easy to follow but what could be better for the imagination and confidence to get a degree, a good job, a fast car,a sexy husband or wife,a kid or two and you dream home all in an hour!You can plan your whole life effortlessly just from one game!The game can get pretty competitive depending on who you are playing, if you really wanted to ... ...your whole life, well your game of life!

I had this game as a child and absolutely loved it. When my close friend came to visit with her 6 year old son, the 'Game of Life' was dragged out of the loft. We all had a great time and a brilliant laugh. The 6 year old really loved the game and had no difficulty in understanding the rules. He loved it so much that I felt I had to buy it for his 7th birthday and he's apparantly been playing it ever since. A big advantage is that it's cheaper than ...

The Game of Life Boardgame has been in my family for over 15 years and is now being played by my own children. It is hugely enjoyable and has stood the test of time. This game has all the potential to be great, yet somehow it doesn't quite make it. It may be slightly outdated, in so far as you have to get married and almost always end up with tonns of kids. However this is meant to be a kiddies game and so i shall review it more from there point of view. At times i think the rules are slightly confusing.
