When in Italy, he learns ... ...would recommend it. Undoubtedly fans of the gangster world will love this, fans of fiction (as long as they are not squeamish) will also love it. Fans of non-fiction books, like myself, will probably really enjoy it too and read it in 2 days. Fiction comes much worse than this. ...

Advantages: A very detailed story Disadvantages: A little gritty and very violent if you can't stomach that kind of thing
Gangster is one of those stories that starts at the end, then rewinds to the beginning before taking you up to the end events. It comprises of two stories about a man's life told in the second person from his ex-lover and the other through his son.
Angelo's father gets into trouble with the Italian mafia, they take his son as a bargaining tool and rather than see his first-born son grow up as a gangster - he kills him. He decides to flee to America ... ...running errands for the local gangster community and are propelled further into their 'careers' as they are willing to take on more violent jobs. When Angelo finds out the truth about his father, he loses respect for his civilian lifestyle and eventually kills him to distance himself from that part of his life. As Angelo and Pudge become more ruthless in their murders, takeover bids and racketeering they become the 2 most revered organised crime ...

Advantages: Twists and the evolution of a real charachter.From rags to riches with an edge.. Disadvantages: um...well..hardly any..maybe more insight into gabe would have been nice
...there relationship is fundamental. It also has an interesting love story as well as father issues. I would liken angelo to the last don in the end though seeing his progression gives you an appreciation for his life. If you like crime, twists and of course gangster get this book. ...
