    I knew even during my first week in Syndey that I wanted to stay there for a while. Whilst most others in my group were heading up the east coast I decided to stay and find a job and a flat for a couple of months. So it was the new year once I was settled in my flat that I started the task of job-hunting. I wanted an office job but wouldn’t rule anything out.     GAP YEAR Temping Work - In Australia Working abroad is definitely a challenge, well to me it has been. I decided to take a gap year and come over here to work for a year. I had just entered a new country, got an apartment so the next obvious step was to look for work. I went to recruitment agencies (see review for more detail) to help me find work in such a big city.     Advantages Advantages You will learn to adapt yourself for all manner of tasks and challenges

    Disadvantages Disadvantages It ca be very hard work, tiring and at times lonely depending on where you are placed

    How does a year on the Great Barrier Reef sound, yet still have the large town/city life near to hand and weather which makes home look like Antartica. Well thats what my girlfriend set of to do this year before embarking on her university course. Forgive me should I be slightly bias against this scheme as it did take my girlfriend away for some time. She was placed in a school which accomodates all ages from young children right up to school leavers.     I've just come back from spending eight months in Australia and what a great experience.If you want to find work easily, make great friends, see amazing sights and have a wild time then Oz is the place for you!After spending a month in Sydney for the New Year I travelled round for 3 months.I went scuba diving off the Great Barrier Reef, climbed Ayers Rock and did a skydive.I bought a bus ticket for 750 dollars or about 300 pounds and saw most of Australia on that.
