Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: loss of signal

...little hit and miss. The garmin sometimes loses its signal shooting my HR up and giving me a false reading. I used to struggle to see the figures for HR on the Garmin until I made a custom screen. Since then I have had no problem seeing it. All the information you need is there. Pace, speed and distance are easy to keep an eye on and the buttons on the side big enough to press. Advantages: GPS, Heartrate monitor, Training Manager,Easy to change between Activities
Disadvantages: Does not work as accurately in built-up areas or between thick trees

The Garmin Forerunner 301 is a training tool for the multi-sport fanatics, complete with timekeeping, GPS and heartrate monitor capabilities. It is one of my training partners that goes along on every cycle and run that I do. ------GPS------ Although at times it seems to be about half a mile out with its GPS calculations of my distance, the pace, lap pace and distance is a great help.
