...unit.
I have the Garmin Nuvi 250, Garmin have a well established reputation for making good quality GPS receivers and many of my military and outdoor activity loving friends have them for use when hiking, boating, or even just a short ramble throug unfamiliar territory (though one friend has his soley to record the locations of his favourite pubs). So I had high hopes that my little unit would be a good product to use.
In terms of its looks typically ... ...a silver inset around the screen, the screen itself is I would say the most important part of the unit and is a decent size with no buttons around it - unlike my fathers older satnav - as it is a touch screen model. On one side there is a slot for an SD memory card so you can download new maps to increase its range, though stored in its internal memory are maps of the entire UK (and EU according to the box but I havent tried this yet). The on off ...

Advantages: So simple to use. Disadvantages: Easy target for thieves.

Garmin was one of the GPS devices I looked at when deciding which sat nav to go for. I actually went for the TomTom. As I compared several models I feel I am qualified to write a review on this Sat Nav. Garmin is well known for Satnav, but they also make Mobile phones, Laptops, PDAs, 2 way radios, and even dog tracking systems. They do echo sounders for boats, as well as chartplotters, fishfinders, and even radar sets. They are a "new" company ... ...Garmin call this a personal travel assistant, this is an entry level job, but I tend to think that is just a marketing trick to make you want the next model. The device comes already pre-loaded with maps covering the whole of Europe. It has the usual touch screen and is of course very slim. The database is already loaded with Points Of Interest. You are able to choose 2D or 3D maps th suit yourself, I prefer three dimensional but it is down to personal ...

Quick review of Garmin nuvi 250
The Garmin nuvi 250 is very easy to use and comes with many other functions including a JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. It also has space for an SD memory card, either your own with pictures or with a Garmin Travel Guide that includes more attractions. It comes loaded with maps of Europe and includes many points of interest. It has a very slimline design and comes ready to use straight out the box. A very worthwhile purchase. ...

Quick review of Garmin nuvi 250
Why oh why can't Garmin and Tomtom make a decent sat nav for the business traveller. If you did 1000's of miles each month you would find this system absolutely frustrating. Worst than the Tomtom GO 910 and ONE xl. what is the point of having so many features crammed into the unit and failing at the most important aspect of a sat nav?!! to get you to your destination.
So far the best system has been the Grundig nav 100, surprise surprise it is made by the Germans. A no nonsense sat nav which is accurate 100% of the time (so far anyway)... no gismos, no useless features, just a fantastic sat nav. ...
