...a bike mount for the Garmin 2610 but it has many limitations) so a specific unit is required. Whilst there are loads of sat nav units for cars giving a large range of choice to suit all budgets and tastes, the same cannot be said for bike sat nav units. Garmin always in the Lead

Advantages: Very "customizable"
Disadvantages: Bit pricy compared to similar

The good: The Zumo 550 provides text- and voice-guided directions to motorcyclists the unit has a built-in MP3 player and integrated Bluetooth for hands-free calling (works great with Bluetooth helmet). The interchangeable faceplates give you some customization options to fit the look of your bike or car. The unit is waterproof so river crossings and rain will not stop you from finding your way. The touch screen can be optimized to suit your needs ...
...are clearly marked and easy to use. The feature I like the most is the display colors switching from day to night color automatically at sunset. Maps can be viewed in 2D or 3D, the choices are endless!! The bad: The software database is a bit outdated and needs updating; also, there is no MAC support. Compared to other ‘Off-Road” systems it is a bit pricy – It is a Garmin! ...

zumo 550 great for bikers

Advantages: waterproof, compact, easy to use wint gloves
Disadvantages: poor speaker quality

I have owned this sat nav for over a Year Now.. As a biker I can not imagine better one, waterproof, easy to use with gloves, visible... trip to Nord Capp was just a peace of mind :) Great function of amount of petrol left in tank, specialy in bikes with no fuel gage (like my gsxr), and lots of other usable functions. For car... sound comming from speaker mounted in sat nav holder isn't perfect, but it's clear enaugh. Speeding camera warnings bit ...
...Great item for good price. Comes with all the kit needed to fit it to Your bike which took me about half an hour to put together. Great item for bikers. If You are looking for car only sat nav, than I believe there are some better ones on the market.... for bikes.... this one is the one to go for.... good luck with it ...

Advantages: Good looking, top of the range,it's designed for bikers, loads of extras

I had my Garmin Zumo 550 for nearly two years. I bought it because it was top of the range motorcycle sat nav. What i disliked about it : after 1 hour ...

Quick review of Garmin zumo 550

Zumo is the best, yes, I know it's expensive but if you've got a motorbike and a car you can use it in both with easy motocycle and car mount. It's got touch screen display so can use easily while on the move even with your gloves on. You can look up addresses with post-code. It's waterproof with bluetooth. And it's MP3 player as well. Map software is very clear with preloaded safety camera alerts. However you need to update the map from time to time but it's easy to do on-line. I'm recommended to all of you if you're looking for relabel device. ...
