Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: ....Cheap

...names in DJ equipment.... and Gemini is not one of them. If your serious about it, then the 2 names to look out for are Vestax and Technics. However, I was only starting out, and could not afford the fantastic kit knocked out by these guys. ...a good pitch control. The Gemini is blessed with +/- 10% pitch control, which means it can speed up or slow down the record by up to 10%. The response from these is sluggish, however, and as such matching speeds is harder than it needs to be. As a side note, the pitch control on one deck has been faulty since I bought these - over +8% and it actually slows down! Bizarre. Anyway. Now the deck could be excused for having a sluggish response time ...

Gemeni's good for beginners

Advantages: Cheap, Good Quality.
Disadvantages: Not as robust or stable as the more expensive decks - but this isn't always needed.

I original bought these decks for £300 a pair, after careful consideration of what I could afford and what the magazines I borrowed said. I had been dj'ing for about 3 months at a friends house, so I already had a limited knowledge at this point, however these were my first decks. I bought the decks through mail-order, however the company elludes me at this point. They are an ideal buy for the beginner as they are cheap, and probably the best decks ...
...tone arm is stable, has a good motor with fast stop/start and is quite good for scratching(with some good needles). However obviously there are better decks in the higher price ranges, look out for technics. But for beginners I would recomend these as they are the best in the price range(-£200) and are quite good, even against the higher priced decks. ...
