Advantages Advantages Free Sim, Free Text, Free Wap Brilliant!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Have To Top Up Every 30 Days

many people would have heard a lot about the current mobile operators available mainly them being orange, one2one, vodafone and btcellnet but nothing has ever been said about genie mobile a partner operator in the bt operation. I first heard of genie mobile at one of my local free uk sites where it said you can pick up a sim card for a mere £1, very reasonable but I don't own a credit card so it was no good. I was again looking round my free sites where I came across a link that said genie sim cards are absolutely free I was shocked I couldn’t believe they would give away sims for free ... more

Advantages Advantages 50 free minutes of off-peak calls EVERY day, 600 free text messages per month, free WAP

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I’ve been a subscriber to Orange’s Everyday 50 service for the past year, primarily because the tariff offered 50 free minutes of off-peak calls each and every day. Great, but costing 50p a day on contract (approx. £15 per month) and just too many dropped calls, and non-existent signal meant I was not benefiting at all and paying for a service that just wasn’t up to what it promised. So when my minimum 12 month contract expired, I was keen to leave Orange and find an alternative. Genie Mobile had the answer! They offer a few tariffs using the BT network, and I found the ideal ... more

WHO ARE GENIE? Genie Mobile is the web-based division of BTCellnet, or now, O2. The company, Genie, begun with a range of internet services, such as being the first site to offer free texts (SMS) from the internet. It also offered free SMS alerts of email, cheap home internet access and mobile 'Alerts' (offering news, horoscopes, charts etc. via text message for free). Its aim from the start was to combine the technology of the mobile and the internet. It still offers the services listed, however, for over a year now it's also offered a virtual mobile network (Virgin is a virtual network on T ... more

Advantages Advantages Unlimited text and wap!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sometimes fails to work! Also, 50p to other networks!! ARRGH!

Unlimited text messages and unlimited wap galore! The sim card only costing a mere £1. You could either keep your existing mobile, pay monthly or pay as you go. The prepay offer does not include any free minutes like the pay monthly. Fantastic offer! So I leaped at this brill opportunity and logged onto their site at 'www.genie.co.uk/shop.' A-ha! I found the prepay sim and put it into my basket and ordered it. I got an e-mail thanking me for my order. Then the following day I got an e-mail stating that my payment from my debit card was being declined by my bank. They suggested I made and input ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages I text all the time now

Genie has now been taken over by O2. However they still have a special range of "genie" packages vailable online which offer much more than a standard PAYG package. If you log onto the 02 website you can purchase o2 paygo and contract options whcih offer high numbers of free texts messages which were GENIE's speciality:- Over the last few months I've tended to send an increasing number of text messages through the day. I wanted to buy a PAY AS YOU GO sim card that gave me a large number of free texts. I used this card in my old phone. I choose O2 online because of the large number of free ... more

Genie is the relatively new service offering free text messages and free WAP use. Before I start mummbling on about it all firstly try out their website: www.genie.co.uk It's true, you can really send an unlimited amout of messages for FREE. For those text addicts out there this has to be the best deal around. Up until the 27 August 2001, you can phone up (0800 092 5599), or order off the net, a free SIM card which offers all of genie's services. Advantages Advantages Free text messaging and wap, and I got a free SIM card!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Average tariff, and you have to spend £10 a month on credit to stay on the service...

Genie are the revolutionary new mobile phone service provider who offer free text messaging and WAP. I first heard about them in a newsgroup where everyone was going crazy because they were offering SIM cards for only £1. Then suddenly they changed the price to £5 and most people that hadn't got a SIM card before decided to get one now. But me, little boring me, didn't want to join in with all that rubbish and pay for something that I might not use so I didn't bother. Until the week after genie announced that you could get the SIM card for free until the 28th August, I jumped and must have ... more

Advantages Advantages Great deals especially Free Text Messaging

Disadvantages Disadvantages Atrocious Customer Care, especially response to emails

Introduction ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Genie are an Internet mobile phone company, part of BT. They are a totally online company and because of this they have no overheads: such as shops, only have to pay for Customer Service staff. This means that they can offer extremely good deals, such as the one that caught my eye: Free Text Messages and Wap. Now as im a teenager Free Text messages (300 free a month) this will save me a great deal lot of money. There is one little catch to the deal, you have to top up £10 to your phone every 30 days otherwise no calls or text messages or WAP can be used or made ... more

Genie was founded in 2000 and it’s the Internet extension of BT and their BT Cellnet mobile service. It markets itself as the UK’s leading Mobile Internet provider and is rapidly becoming a leading competitor in the network provider fight. Most of us have heard of Genie but know little about their ever-growing service, indeed I was a Genie virgin myself until I decided to see what all these advertising campaigns were all about and I was very pleasantly surprised! Ritey, so there are actually two divisions to Genie: - Genie and Genie Mobile. First let’s take a brief look at ... more
