...a Punch" in our kitchen.
The George Foreman range of health grills has been around for a while now, but I must admit that up until a few months ago I had avoided all the hype. "it's just an electric griddle pan" I told the Mrs, "And anyway what good is a health grill from a ukulele playing, window cleaning funnyman anyway?". Yes it's an obvious joke but you would be amazed just how many times a day, when I worked for a famous electrical shop, that ...

Advantages: easy to clean, not spitting occurs, speedy cooking, healthy but not dry food Disadvantages: only suitable for meal for 2-3 people, no temperature control, poorly designed bread warming tray
...saw the advertisement for the George Foreman grill, however my Grandma decided they were brilliant and obviously a kitchen gadget I would need. The price is variable. Shop around as there are often offers on. I bought mine for £15.
I have soon been converted to its charms.
The space that it occupies is quite small. No more than a large toaster. Even in a small kitchen it does not cramp the space. To give an idea, it can fit about 3 chicken breasts ...

Advantages: Cooks both sides at once. Disadvantages: Drip tray's are a bit shallow.
The George Junior grill that I've got is in a silver colour with a purple see through lid, but they also sell them with a green see through lid and a clear see through lid,
and comes complete with 2 drip tray's and 2 spatulas.
I bought mine about 4 years ago and they are still selling them in the shops now and also in larger sizes.
At the time I bought mine they were advertising them all over the place, and so popular were they that most of my ...

...back we were given a George Foreman GR20 I jumped on it. Well, not literally, but I couldn't wait to give it a go. It came complete with instructions and some sort of cleaning device. I quickly leafed through the instructions before tossing them aside like an impatient child with a new toy.
There really is little need for instructions. The machine is very simple and basic, two grooved hot plates connected by hinges that slope at an angle to allow ...

...adore I happened upon the George Foreman, Lean, Mean, Fat reducing, grilling machine, try saying that three times without stopping. Although they come in a range of sizes, I chose the Junior version, due to the fact I don't have a lot of space in my kitchen.
~~~In the box~~~
The George Foreman Junior comes supplied with a drip tray, instruction book, and a rather pathetically flimsy spatula. The instruction book is pretty handy as it gives recommended ...
...never considered buying a George Foreman In Grilling Colours Lean Mean Fat Redcing Grilling Machine (what a mouthful). I like a bit of fat in my food, besides I am on the Atkins diet and fat is not a banned item. Still, this Christmas one of my friends bought me a small one, the GR20BW, in mauve. It also comes in green. It has a thermostate but only one heat setting. There is no timer nor an on/off switch, so you have to be in attendance at all times ...
...and treated myself to the George Foreman Junior Grill. I had heard alot of hype about these new methods of cooking and thought I'd give it a go.
My husband grunted when I showed him my purchase and said it would either take up room on the work surfaces collecting dust, or be put in a cupbaoard along side the coffe perculator, food processor and other appliances that never see the light of day....This only fuelled my determination to use it!
The ...
Advantages: easy to use, quick food Disadvantages: flimsy catch
I am completely and utterly useless at cooking…I just do not get it, in fact just to illustrate how bad a cook I am…one time I was making rice crispy cakes and I burnt them. So this grill is somewhat of a life saver for me, its easy to use and you can make some really nice stuff on it, even if you are totally incompetent in the kitchen.
The grill itself is really simply designed, it basically just two heated grill plates, most of the descriptions ...
Advantages: Grill channels run off grease and fat, Roll and bun warmer, Fast & easy use Disadvantages: None
The George Foreman Junior Health Grill is a brilliant invention. Its very useful and in my opinion much better than actually grilling as this gets rid of almost all the fat content in your food. I purchased this a few years ago and its still working fine.
The design of the grill is very simple and convenient. It opens up when you lift the top half and has enough room to cook two good sizes quarter pounder burgers or about four regular burgers leaving ...
...or mediocre at cooking the George Foreman GR20 grill is definitely for you. I'm one of those people, and with the grill I can just put 2 or 3 burgers or sausages on it and leave it - simple! It's also great for anyone in a rush. The cooking surface is quick to reach temperature and a piece of kitchen roll wipes the grill clean afterwards. The only thing you need to worry about cleaning properly is the tray that collects all the fat at the bottom and ...
Advantages: really does reduce cooking fats Disadvantages: can get hot on the outside
Well, my lean green fat reducing grilling machine, to be brutally honest, isn't something I would of gone out and brought myself, our machine was a wedding gift, and we haven't looked back since.
We now use it as a regular part of the kitchen, from the very first time I used it on some Lamb chops, I saw the amount of excess fat that poured out onto the drip tray, I was amazed, it didn't just make a little difference, this was quite substantial.
Good points - quick to use, cooks well and easy to clean and store
Bad points- to get rid of the fat off tray and bread warmer catch is not tough enough and was the main reason for us replacing our old one for the same model. Its other benefits outweighed this disadvantage.
Features -
Non stick cooking plates- great food no longer sticks and easier to clean
...a pretty green colour too!)
The George Foreman grill is the type of thing that once you own it, you can't imagine life without it. It cooks literally anything. I make toasties, griddle meats and fish, chargrills vegetables. It really is invaluable. What I really like about the George is that it is designed to allow fat and grease to run off the food and into a plastic dish, meaning that the food you consume at dinner has been cooked in a really ...
