...I came across the Baby George Grill while shopping in my local Robert Dyas store, with £10 off it seemed a bargain and with an extra 10% student discount I felt that it was impossible for me not to buy it (it actually cost only £18 a massive £11.99 off the usual retail price). I’d looked at a number of different grilling machines in a few stores but the price of this one was the primary reason I bought it. I also knew of George Foreman as a boxer ... ...grilling in my mind with George Foreman. Iam sure there are other grilling machines which are just as good but they are less intensively advertised.

Advantages: Easy to use, versatile, cooks evenly and quickly...and it's healthier too. Disadvantages: Drip tray doesn't always catch everything. Spatula is bendy and bun warmer a little small.

Advantages: Less cooking smells in the kitchen Disadvantages: Food tastes like re-constituted cardboard!
...other than the famous ex-boxer George Foreman. I usually left a remark in the comments box saying something along the lines of “This sounds great. Don’t have one yet, but must get around to buying one soon.”
Of course, being a lazy wee mad cabbie, the purchase was very firmly put on the ‘long finger’. (Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow)

...I’d been tempted by the George Foreman Lean Mean, Fat Reducing Grilling Machine (hereafter just the GF!) before. Going home for Christmas tipped the balance. My mum had had one for a few months and couldn’t stop raving about it. Then I stepped on the scales for the New Year. Ouch. I was persuaded, and purchased one from Argos. It cost around £35, but these “older style” ones are now being replaced by more modern looking chrome affairs with fancier ... ...at once. The lid has George Foreman’s signature, and whilst it’s kind of nice to have the assurance of a former heavyweight champion (an assurance I’m sure is not in the least commercially driven …) there are now so many similar machines on the market that there’s really no need to be swayed by the name alone. It’s a fairly large machine, big enough to hold up to four chicken breasts or a couple of standard sized burgers, or a plate of chopped vegetables. ...

After seeing the TV advert staring George Foreman and his new toy, we decided to venture out to find one of these grills and see what they looked like up close. Everywhere seemed to sell them, such as “Argos”, “Index”, and many more electrical appliance stores. We eventually found a grill in the “Big W” store ... ...could see what you were paying for.
The grill seemed to be a reasonable size, not too large, but not too small as that would be a bit pointless. The area of the grill seemed big enough to fit 4 average sized burgers on.
Externally the grill was a silver plastic mould body with a small LED display and two small buttons, (one labelled “Time” and the other labelled “Start”. On the upper surface of the grill was a slide switch ...

...our eyes on our new George Foreman Lean Green (ours was purple) grilling machine, was an understatement! In fact I am finding it hard to put words onto paper to describe our incredulousness at seeing this. Not that we were ungrateful I hasten to add, just amazed that the person who had asked us what we wanted had not taken a blind bit of notice of what we really wanted, and gone and got us this instead!!

The George Foreman grilling machine is designed like a sandwich toaster, in so much in that you put your food to be cooked in between two hot plates and take it out again when it is cooked. The George Foreman range of grills are quite small compared to other grills, but they have an excellent feature that the other grills lack. My choice was the 10023 model, but there are many others, ranging in size. The grill is designed to sit on the table or worktop and slant forward. This looks like it could be tricky keeping ... ...there’s no point stopping you now, is there?). For a great alternative to a barbecue and a low fat one at that, the George Foreman grills are fantastic and fast, but most importantly it gives you an excuse to eat more burgers, which can’t be bad! ...

The box is predominantly white and has a picture of George Foreman on it together with the picture of the product you are buying. Now with the baby George you can have the bun warmer on top or just the grilling machine. The Junior has a bun warmer on top. They come in several colours, so far, i have seen pink, purple, green, blue and a silver bun warmer cover.

...be that as it may, George Foreman does endorse kitchen gadgets, and good ones they are, if my experience of the ‘Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine’ is anything to go by.

Having had my George Foreman grill now for a few months I can honestly say I don't know how I survived without it! My only regret in buying it is that I bought the smallest version the, Baby george. I bought this one thinking it was another "gadget" which would within weeks be relegated to the back of a darkened cupboard only to see the light of day when it had been there long enough to justify taking it to the car boot sale!
Boy, was I wrong. I ... ...grilled sandwiches!
My Baby George cost £14.99 from Argos, it is also available with a bun warmer I think it was £17.99 for this model.
The amount of fat that comes out of food during cooking is amazing, I am convinced it is the main reason for my continued slimming world success. Even grilling 2 chicken breasts left me with about a tablespoon of fat in the drip tray.
The reason the fat is taken away so well is because the bottom grill tray tilts ...
