    GHD GHD are one of Tony and Guy's ranges alongside their Bed Head, obviously they specialie in hair care products and many of you will be familiar with GHD (Good Hair Day) straighteners. It is also known that a lot of the time you are paying for the name tag and not the actual product but is this one in particular a good quality product? What is it?     Alongside the Mediterranean blood flowing through my veins I also have naturally curly hair which requires straightening every day otherwise I start to resemble Brian May in his Queen days. I am sure you can all picture that lovely bouffant of jet black hair that he had and when I straighten my hair, no matter what styling products I try my hair becomes quite dry and is then difficult to manage.     I don't know what I'd do without my GHDs. Recently, I've stopped straightening my hair all the time as I'm trying to crack the winning formula that keeps it nice and well-behaved without resorting to straightening. This is work in progress, and I will be sure to report back to ciao when I find it, but even in this period of minimal straightening I still feel a little bit lost when I don't have my GHDs readily available.     I have quite long, thick hair which has a natural kink to it but I like to wear it poker straight. As you might imagine, this means that I have to subject my hair to regular heat styling - first via a hairdryer and then with my ceramic straighteners. I'm obviously concerned at the damage that this regular styling does to my hair and, in an attempt to keep it as healthy as possible, always use some form of heat protector spray.     The background of my use of the product In this day and age I think there is only a small minority of people that do not own a pair of hair straighteners, for me, for me my chosen brand amongst many others is GHD, the name actually stands for Good hair day (hence the title) and that's exactly what it helps you to have! If like me you straighten your hair a little more than you probably should then you really do need a thermal protector, the GHD range comes in three types: fine hair, dry hair or weak and damaged hair.     I am an absolute fan of my GHD straighteners (as I think just about every girl that I talk to is) and in conjunction with them I also use the GHD thermal protector for dry and course hair. The nice thing was that a free bottle came with my GHD's when I first purchased them. That was about a year ago now and I have still not needed to buy a new bottle but it is nearly gone but I would say definitely a long lasting product.     Most days I style my hair. Sure I have days where I can't be bothered to do anything with it so I simply tie it back and slob out, however most days I like to wash and style my hair and make it look the best it possibly can. I spotted this in a hairdressers a couple of months back for just under £10.00 and although I wouldn't normally splash out on more expensive hair products I do love my Ghd's and cos I love them so much I felt I really had to buy a bottle of this to try out!     This GHD hair styling product created as a thermal protector whilst using straightening irons on hair. I bought this along with my GHD Mk4's wondering how much difference it would make. I have no doubts that using this is healthy for my hair. At around £8.45 a bottle, in my opinion it is way over priced. I felt that I was paying for the name 'GHD' rather than a product which would improve the health of my hair after using straighteners everyday.     This is surely one of the best products for thermal protection especially on bleached or overcoloured hair. I have had highlights in my hair for many years and found that straighteners left my hair dry and brittle but the ghd thermal protector has definately left my hair in a much better condition no more brittle bleached hair now it remains soft and the colour does not fade away. I would recommend this to anyone whoe has highlights or overcoloured hair to keep in with the trend of smooth straight hair! ! !
