...been swayed by the clever Gillette marketing campaign and worrying about being hit by a 120mph tennis ball powered by Roger Federer's racquet, I purposefully strode into Asda on a mission.
I purchased a Gillette Fusion power razor for the princely sum of £9.00. Also available were a pack of four replacement heads for £9.98. I have subsequently found you can buy as a multi-save two packs for £18.00.
After paying for my purchase, and thanking the ... ...came across my long lost Gillette lemon & lime shaving foam, that had not been used for many years as signified by the rust around the bottom of the can. No excuse, time now to take the plunge.
The shaver itself comes in that horrible plastic packaging. You know the stuff - impossible to tear, and when you try to cut through it with scissors you end up slicing through your fingers. But wait, good old Gillette - turn it over and there's perforations ...

Gillette introduce the Fusion Power Razor and can you believe it, it has a total of 6 blades, 5 on the front and 1 on the back for trimming. But even I cannot justify going out and spending that sort of money on a razor.
Price:-
£9.99 with only 1 head, daylight robbery especially when replacement heads are £8 for 4. Since they first come out prices have dropped you can pick the razor up for about ... ...silver, with ridges galore. The Gillette logo prominent on the handle, this razor looks like one futuristic bit of kit.
Comfort :-
The razor sits comfortable in the hand and feels lightweight, even with the AAA battery inside. The middle area of the razor has a rubbery feel and this with the ridges stop the razor slipping out of your hand when wet.
Changing head/battery :-
To change the battery you just twist the bottom and insert the battery ...

...first attracted me to the Gillette Fusion, that along with the fact that ASDA had the Razor and The hydro gel on offer for £4. Since the outlay for replacement blades for three blade and Quattro type razors is usually in that vicinity I thought what the heck I'll give it a try.
The difference between the Fusion and normal four blade systems is the addition of a fifth blade which is situated on the top of the razor and is isolated from the other ... ...as above the moustache , a single blade is far more suitable and can negotiate the small area better and more comfortably than the quite wide width of the four blade section. This is definitely an advantage over a normal multi bladed system. The inclusion of the rather gimmicky vibration system may in certain circumstances enhance the experience, and perhaps even the quality of the actual shave, but for me it is really not much more than a gimmick. ...

Advantages: Very comfortable shave, actually even relaxing to use, you can shave in the shower, its waterproof Disadvantages: shaving under the nose can be tricky because of the blade size, easily clogged precision trimmer.
...the launch of the new Gillette Fusion. Upon its launch i set out to buy one and was immediately impressed by the overall boldness of the packaging. If the Mach 3 packaging was sleek and understated then this was certainly going to catch the eye. And I must say I found it in an interesting and not an unwelcome change. I went home and put it my bathroom ready to use the next morning. Finally...daybreak...time for the razor to deal with my 5 day old ... ...knowing that you are creating a gift pack. Get other top line products in there. Gillette make fantastic razors. Be careful with their other products. Then again its all about preference and you may have yours.
I think that personally the Fusion is "the best a man can get" ...

...marks afterwards! These gillette fusions usually retail for around £7.99 but i was fortunate enough to pick mine up for the great price of just £3! including both the handle and one blade! Refill packs can also be bought for £4 at the moment, this is for an extra 4 blades to use with pre-acquired handle. The second i started to use it i could feel a real difference! in fact at first i didnt think it was really doing anything as is it just felt like ... ...with it but thats to the gillette fusion i can now be done in a flash and with no after marks! A great purchase for any hair growing human and one i would recommend to all and will stick with till they bring out the 10 blade version! ...

...Fortunately, I got a Gillette Fusion Power razor as a Christmas present and I've never looked back. Unlike Wilkinson's razors, it looks and sounds like it means business. It shaves well, the batteries last much longer and the whole package comes across as a well designed product that does what it promises. The razor is beautifully balanced: a triumph of design and engineering. The colours are bright and cheerful and the motor sounds like it is rugged ... ...will receive coping with steam, water and foam, that's important.
The only down side is the price. You can sometimes buy the razors on special offer, but the blades are twice the price of Wilkinson's (in excess of £2 per blade). Come on Gillette. Reduce the price of the blades and you've got me forever................. ...

This is the best shaver i have used. It gets very close so that it does not leave any stubble and also dose not cut either. the battery powered vibration helps it go through your beard easier too. It can pull sometimes. I would recommend this to people who shave regularly as this will save you money and will last you several weeks until you need to buy replacement blades . the replacements come in a pack of four. you will notice a big difference ...
