Advantages: Close shave, really close shave, the closest shave Disadvantages: Can be expensive
I first bought this razor several years ago when i was still pretending to shave, as you do. I only bought it because of my mates and the adverts, when you're a fifteen year old guy you don't tend to know much about anything let alone what the best razor is. **THE RAZOR**
Anyway now that my face has finally started sprouting hairs, razors are alot more helpful when that happens, I've realised quite how good it is. The basic design is a sleek silver ... ...raised lettering, so you know you're using a mach 3 turbo, unlike most other razors i've seen that just have it written on the side which comes off straight away. Superficial I know but its all part of the quality. For a firm good grip it has a rubber coating on the other side specifically tectured to stop it slipping out your hands like a bar of soap. On the top facing side it has 3 rubber bands again for ease of grip btw they are grey the original ...

Advantages: Good close shave, strong and durable, safe and easy Disadvantages: pricey replacement blades and a drunken stand
Oddly, I received a Gillete mach 3 Turbo razor on Christmas day as some kind of weird stocking filler. Not that I’m complaining as the cheap disposable razors I had being previously using left me looking like a guillotine victim. The Mach 3 Turbo comes with a plastic stand that is to be fair a little flimsy and unsteady on its feet. The front of the stand holds a plastic clip that is used to mount the razor, whilst the rear of the stand holds spare ... ...plastic box, which holds up to 5 mach three blades. Somehow (and I don’t know if this is just me) the stand acts like a shaving foam/tooth paste dirt magnet. Any loose gunk in my bathroom from hair gel, to toilet role fragments get stuck to this shiny stand leaving me no choice to hide it from visitors and guests. The handle is a neatly shaped steel and rubber contraption that is stylish and useful at the same time. The rubber grip stops the razor ...

Advantages: Looks a lot more flash than the Mach 3. Disadvantages: Triple blade mechanism causes injury to face.
...a new razor. The Gillette Mach 3 Turbo and I thought my dreams had come true.
The Gillette Mach 3 Turbo is supposed to be the best razor around at the moment. It’s triple blade head supposedly gives you a closer shave than ever before. What it actually did in my case was give me such a close shave that it took not only all the hair off, but half the face as well. The promises are there in the advert. Close shave and no irritation, even if ... ...watching the advert for the Gillette Mach Turbo I went the next day to the shop to buy the razor. I was amazed at the relatively cheap price (You can get it for about £6.00 - £7.00 depending on where you go and you get two free blades). I was so confident that the Turbo was the razor for me that I even bought a pack of six extra blades. Using hindsight that was probably one of the most stupid things I have ever done. Anyway I took it home and up ...

Advantages: Clean, Smooth, Comftable Disadvantages: Price On Blades
...A few years later standard Gillette Mach 3 was released - the first 3 triple bladed model and then a little while after that the Mach 3 Turbo followed with the only difference being that the Mach 3 Turbo blades have a small 'moisturising' strip on the top edge.
For quite a while I resisted buying one for two reasons - firstly the cost (they were quite pricey when they first came out) and secondly I thought that all I would gain would be a extra ... ...them on offer in Boots (they are always on offer in Tesco or Asda) and by this time a friend had purchased one and though they were well worth investing in - so I took the plunge and purchased one (for about £5 with two blades).
The razor itself, as with most Gilletes is nicely weighted and has a good ergonomic shape, although this isn't all that hard to do with a razor. The body is finished in a gloss gun metal gray (which stands the test of time ...

Advantages: A super close shave, ergonomic design, very little in the way of cuts etc even with my sensitive skin Disadvantages: takes a little "tooing and froing" to get the best shave, expensive, results depend an awful lot on the shaving gel used.
I first stated using Gillette razors back in 1979 when the first Gillette GII came out and I was 17 to remove the tiny little fragments of hair I had around my face which was impersonasting a beard. The shave was an experience which resulted in no cuts but a peculiar numb sensation which lasted all day.
Since then, with my stubble getting denser and denser, I have tried a variey of razors such as Wilkinson (Okish), an Hitachi Electric Razor (good ... ...still got), Bic disposable (terrible), Gillette Disposable (tolerable) then the Gillette Mach 3 (brilliant).
So Iif I was so happy with Gillette Mach 3 why try the Mach 3 Turbo?
Well the answer was that I found the Mach 3 Turbo on special offer at Superdrug Wolverhampton for £2.49 including two free blades. So instead of spending over a fiver for four blades I could buy two at the same unit cost, have a free razor included and check out the claims ...

...just so happened that recently, Gillette were giving away their new Mach 3 Turbo razor free, so one fell through the letterbox one morning and thus became my new shaving tool.
LOOKS
While items such as razors leave little room for fundamental design innovation, every product today has some sort of flashy design, from toothbrushes to shampoo bottles. The Mach 3 Turbo is no different, with a rubber grip handle and wide razor head. The razor heads ... ...advertising gimmicks.
Another claim Gillette makes is that the three blades provide the closest shave around. In my personal experience, while the result is undeniably good, there isn’t a vast difference when compared with other razors. And as for the smoothest shave, I’m not quite sure. The shave is smooth if the stubble is short, but with longer or coarser hairs, such as around the chin, the Mach 3 Turbo does seem to struggle and scrape. ...

Advantages: Close shave - easy to grip - each blade lasts a few weeks Disadvantages: expensive to buy replacement blades
Like every man who doesn't want to look like Jesus I shave on a reguylar basis normally every 2 days and have done ever since a naive youngster entered the bathroom took a Bic razor in hand and proceeded to recreate Nightmare on Elm Street. To say my first experience of shaving was painful is an understatement and over the years I have avoided Bic but also tried electric shavers and other razors that have protective bars - safety systems etc in an ... ...the mid 1990's I found Gilletee Sensor and moved onto the Mach 3 Turbo as soon as it arrived on the shelves.
The razor is shown above and I bought the exact product for £3.99 at Morrisons - this contained the stem, 2 blades and a stand to keep the razor in. The stem is the length of a toothbrush and has a rubber grip across a number of ridges that making holding it with or without wet hands a breeze. The blades are attached to the end and hey presto, ...

Advantages: Close and smooth shave, reliable Disadvantages: Over priced cartridges
I used to always use an electric razor but then i found it easier and more convenient to shave in the shower. My friend had been using the Mach 3 Turbo for a while and he was very pleased with it and recommended it to me. Superdrug were doing a special offer: the razor plus a small bottle of shaving gel and two extra cartridges all for £4.99. Not bad, so i bought one and have been using it ever since.
The razor is very easy to use and it just glides ... ...It has three blades and the claim is that it leaves you with a 'smooth and close shave'. It certainly does. I have only cut myself once and it was just because i was rushing and not paying attention. I have had no trouble at all with it other than that one time.
The cartidges last for a long time and work extremly well up until you have to change them. However my only one comlaint is that the cartridges are so expensive to buy. A 5 pack can cost ...

Advantages: smooth shave Disadvantages: not that different to the normal mach 3
Ok so I'm gonna give a slant to this whole mach 3 thing. Im a girl. I have never used something which gives me such a good shave, im so smooth and for longer. I started off using it because my dad gave me his old one with a blade because I couldn't be bothered to bring my gillete venus home with me from uni on weekends. So the first few times I used it I noticed something different, it was so much kinder on my skin, the stubble grew back less harsh ... ...either.
Now I've got a mach 3 turbo, although there is not much difference between this and a normal mach 3 apart from an extra lubricated strip. As you can see a lot of thought went into how to make it different from a regular mach 3!!!
Because of the 3 blade business and the extra lubricated strip I have never had a nick or a cut on my leg. It really is good. The blades last for ages and when you run out you can steal them from your partner or ...

I have recently purchased a new razor the “Gillette Mach 3 Turbo” which cost me £6.99 in safe ways and came with 4 blades. This did not seem such a bad buy at first until I saw the price of the refill blades. They retail at around £11.99 at safe way, quite a lot for 8 cartridges.
I thought I would buy the razor first to try, after all I’d rather waste £6.99 than that and £11.99 and I thought they would be worth a try.
The razor itself measures ... ...with a clip on the top to hold the cartridges. It comes in a silver coloured plastic case with a section underneath in which to store the cartridges.
The blade cartridges have 3 blades with a lubricating strip on them to ease any discomfort. The blades, which are anti-friction, attach to the razor with the clip.
When I first used these I thought how nice and smooth and comfortable my shave was. My skin felt nice and soft afterwards. I was quite ...

Advantages: smooth, good finish Disadvantages: expensive
When I heard that something was Mach 3 and it was turbo I thought that I must get it and in the advert it was so shiny and i was sucked right in. I bought myself one instead of the old electric shaver I had and i was quite impressed with the results. The razor does give me a very close cut and a nice smooth finish with its twin pads that are supposed to give you a good finish up and down. I was impressed with this initially but then began to think ... ...two pads or why it would make a different if u went up and down. These pads then started to wear away and disintergrate quite quickly. Needless to say the razor was not perfect and I did get the occasional cut from it, but less than i got when i have used disposable razors in the past. I do like the look of the razor and the silver on it does make me feel like im cutting closer when im shaving. The razor itself is very durable and i have a habbit ...

Advantages: Long lasting razor with a smooth close shave even for course hair! Disadvantages: Price
My husband purchased the Gillette Mach 3 razor for himself about 6 months ago. I was using another brand that I firmly believed was the best razor ever! One day I ran out and my husband had me try his Gillette Mach 3. I never went back! This razor gives a smooth shave even with course hair. Advantages: Close shave Disadvantages: Not much improvement on original Mach 3
I have used a Gillete Mach 3 razor for some time now and have always found it to be a very comfortable shave, so I was intriuged when I saw the Mach 3 Turbo advetised. There is no up or down!! I have very sensitive skin and as such need to choose a razor carefully. I have found that when I have shaved against the grain (to get a closer shave), my skin has cut badly and often needs 2 or 3 days to get it back to a state where I can shave again. So, ... ...happens.
My first impression was promising, the razor did indeed feel smoother and easier to shave. Then the test came, would my skin stand up to being shaved against the grain? The results, at first were very pleasing in that I did not notice any cuts from the razor and it did give me an incredibly good shave. However, after a few minutes, the cuts were visible but noticably not as bad as before.
So not a major improvement on the original Mach ...

...I decided to buy a Gillette - I'd used Gillette before my beard. I bought the Mach 3 Turbo as the idea of a vibrating blade is just too much for a (35 year old) codger like me. After using the razor for the first time this morning I have to say I am very impressed. It gives a very good close shave without much effort at all and it feels ... ...It also rinses clean of the stubble you've just shaved superbly.
