Advantages Advantages Close shave, really close shave, the closest shave

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be expensive

I first bought this razor several years ago when i was still pretending to shave, as you do. I only bought it because of my mates and the adverts, when you're a fifteen year old guy you don't tend to know much about anything let alone what the best razor is. **THE RAZOR** Anyway now that my face has finally started sprouting hairs, razors are alot more helpful when that happens, I've realised quite how good it is. The basic design is a sleek silver metal handle displaying both the brand and razor name in raised lettering, so you know you're using a mach 3 turbo, unlike most other razors i've ... more

Advantages Advantages Good close shave, strong and durable, safe and easy

Disadvantages Disadvantages pricey replacement blades and a drunken stand

Oddly, I received a Gillete mach 3 Turbo razor on Christmas day as some kind of weird stocking filler. Not that I’m complaining as the cheap disposable razors I had being previously using left me looking like a guillotine victim. The Mach 3 Turbo comes with a plastic stand that is to be fair a little flimsy and unsteady on its feet. The front of the stand holds a plastic clip that is used to mount the razor, whilst the rear of the stand holds spare blades. The blade storage at the back consists of a plastic box, which holds up to 5 mach three blades. Somehow (and I don’t know if this is just ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks a lot more flash than the Mach 3.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Triple blade mechanism causes injury to face.

I was sitting at home one night watching the football. Man Utd v Real Madrid in the Champions League. Big match. It got to half time and the commercials came on, as they usually do. I sat through the usual adverts for loans, mobile phones and all the other codswallop that ITV decided to put on when all of a sudden I was jolted to my senses by an advert that I was actually interested in. It was for a new razor. The Gillette Mach 3 Turbo and I thought my dreams had come true. The Gillette Mach 3 Turbo is supposed to be the best razor around at the moment. It’s triple blade head supposedly ... more

    Advantages Advantages Clean, Smooth, Comftable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price On Blades

When I first started to shave, which must now be 11 years ago (boy doesn't time fly), I was using a dual bladed Gillete, the exact model name escapes me now, but it gave a reasonable shave. A few years later standard Gillette Mach 3 was released - the first 3 triple bladed model and then a little while after that the Mach 3 Turbo followed with the only difference being that the Mach 3 Turbo blades have a small 'moisturising' strip on the top edge. For quite a while I resisted buying one for two reasons - firstly the cost (they were quite pricey when they first came out) and secondly I thought ... more

Advantages Advantages A super close shave, ergonomic design, very little in the way of cuts etc even with my sensitive skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages takes a little "tooing and froing" to get the best shave, expensive, results depend an awful lot on the shaving gel used.

I first stated using Gillette razors back in 1979 when the first Gillette GII came out and I was 17 to remove the tiny little fragments of hair I had around my face which was impersonasting a beard. The shave was an experience which resulted in no cuts but a peculiar numb sensation which lasted all day. Since then, with my stubble getting denser and denser, I have tried a variey of razors such as Wilkinson (Okish), an Hitachi Electric Razor (good until the foil broke), a Philips triple head Electric (Three of them-two wore out and the third I've still got), Bic disposable (terrible), Gillette ... more

I heard somewhere that starting to shave is the masculine equivalent of the female first period. I once read a book- and I digress- about girls growing up. It was clearly aimed at teenage girls, but I read it anyway. Not out of feminine tendencies, you understand, but out of curiosity. After all, young teenage girls are as mysterious to young teenage boys as the Bermuda Triangle, or Area 51. What I learnt from this book (which was a dubious thing for me to read) was that there was a whole culture among girls that I was completely unaware of. I was vaguely aware of menstruation (I had had Sex ... more

Advantages Advantages Close shave - easy to grip - each blade lasts a few weeks

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive to buy replacement blades

Like every man who doesn't want to look like Jesus I shave on a reguylar basis normally every 2 days and have done ever since a naive youngster entered the bathroom took a Bic razor in hand and proceeded to recreate Nightmare on Elm Street. To say my first experience of shaving was painful is an understatement and over the years I have avoided Bic but also tried electric shavers and other razors that have protective bars - safety systems etc in an effort never to coat my bathroom in blood again. In the mid 1990's I found Gilletee Sensor and moved onto the Mach 3 Turbo as soon as it arrived on ... more

Advantages Advantages Cost of new blades is less than the higher spec fusion model

Disadvantages Disadvantages Leaves a rough finish after only a few shaves and doesn't last very long

I’ve been using a Gillette Mach 3 razor for what seems an eternity and at first it seemed quite effective at reducing my rugged bristles into skin as soft as a babies bum. I really can’t believe my stubble is actually getting tougher almost on a daily basis because when I first bought refills for it they could last almost a month, now I am lucky if they last a week and a half. I have bought various Mach 3 cartridge packs – standard and turbo in both 4 and 8 blades and a few months back also tried a fusion blade that was included in the pack as a tempter to upgrade to the newer model. My ... more

Advantages Advantages Close and smooth shave, reliable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Over priced cartridges

I used to always use an electric razor but then i found it easier and more convenient to shave in the shower. My friend had been using the Mach 3 Turbo for a while and he was very pleased with it and recommended it to me. Superdrug were doing a special offer: the razor plus a small bottle of shaving gel and two extra cartridges all for £4.99. Not bad, so i bought one and have been using it ever since. The razor is very easy to use and it just glides across your face and you are finished in no time. It has three blades and the claim is that it leaves you with a 'smooth and close shave'. It ... more

    Advantages Advantages smooth shave

Disadvantages Disadvantages not that different to the normal mach 3

Ok so I'm gonna give a slant to this whole mach 3 thing. Im a girl. I have never used something which gives me such a good shave, im so smooth and for longer. I started off using it because my dad gave me his old one with a blade because I couldn't be bothered to bring my gillete venus home with me from uni on weekends. So the first few times I used it I noticed something different, it was so much kinder on my skin, the stubble grew back less harsh and hairs did not seem to grow back as quick either. Now I've got a mach 3 turbo, although there is not much difference between this and a normal ... more
