Hey ladies, it’s almost Spring! And as the temperature rises, we’ll be ditching our stuffy trousers and jeans for sexy, breezy shorts and skirts, proudly putting our pins on display. Okay, maybe I’m being a bit optimistic writing this in February, but whether it’s Flesh-Baring Season or not, nothing beats the look (or the feeling) of silky smooth legs.
Well, actually getting silky smooth legs isn’t really as simple as it may sound. Honestly, there ... ...if it leaves your pins dry and irritated, or bleeding and painful from nasty razor cuts. Ask any woman – we’ve all had an experience that made us feel like we were in the shower scene from Psycho!

The writing is in white, which a mint coloured haze around the edge of the letters. The information is written in purple and green. It said it had the fragrance of “wild berry”, and was ultra conditioning, which made me want it more. I got home and packed it away in my suitcase, against my mum’s wishes, as she protested ... ...underarms very smooth and soft. Gillette claims it is ultra conditioning, and it certainly was. My legs felt incredibly soft, and i had no need to apply moisturiser like i usually do. The canistor say’s the gel can be used on legs, underarms and bikini areas, and i found that it did not irratate me in any of these areas. ...bought my new razor the Gillette ‘Venus’, which is a fab razor. A free shaving gel came with it, and since the first bottle I haven’t been able to shave my legs without it!! I have used a variety of different smelling ones amongst these are ‘Wild berry’ and the one I am reviewing ‘Melon Splash’. I don't think what razor you use will make a difference.

...purchased a 200ml can of Gillette for Women, Satin Care, Wild Berry, Ultra Conditioning, Moisture Rich Shave Gel… phew! Upon reading a few other op’s on this product it seems that mine was quite a bargain, coming in at only £1.65 from Wilko’s.

Although it doesn’t advise either way on the back, I normally give all cans a good shake prior to use. You then squirt the required amount of gel into your hand and proceed to apply onto the area you wish to shave (which should be wet first). Once you have applied all required, any surplus gel left on your hands is easily rinsed off in warm water.

Gillette Satin Care is a shaving gel especially for women. It markets itself as a moisture-rich product that is ‘ultra conditioning’. Spotting it on special in my local Tescos, and seduced by the name ‘wild berry’, which conjured up rich taste-bud-tingling smells and fruity frolics in the woods, I threw some into my trolley with abandon.
The Packaging:
It comes in a smooth, satin-finish stainless steel can with a lilac lid ... ...a drawing of some wild berries bursting with juice. Oh yes, and the can holds 195g of the stuff.
The Gel:
The gel comes out easily – rather too easily, in fact, so remember to apply only a little pressure.
It’s dark purple in colour and a little goes a long, long way. A blob the size of a 10 pence piece will cover a whole half-leg with ease. For an under-arm, a tiny speck will do.

Gillette Satin Care is shaving gel for women. I got a razor set for Christmas, and in the set was this shaving gel.
The gel comes in a silver tin with a lilac lid. The size I have is 75ml, but I think you can get a bigger zize though.
The shaving gel is thick and purple and once rubbed in to your legs turns white. YOu do not need to use a lot either as a bit goes a long way. I didn't realise this at first and used quite a lot of it.

To use the gel just put a bit in your hand and rub on to your legs. I usually just spray it on my leg and then rub it in.
You can use thi9s gel for:-
legs
underarms
bikini area
It does not irrate your skin, which is good especially if you have sensitive skin.
It has ultra conditioning in the gel, which makes your skin feel nice and soft.

...I have to say that Gillette changed the product a little last year. The metal rim of the can at the top used to rust, despite my efforts of wiping it dry after every use, and this didn’t used to look very nice. So Gillette changed it so that the plastic pump actually enveloped the entire top of the can so that the metal ridges were covered with plastic which stopped the rusting. The plastic pump had also been changed to a trendier-looking blue plastic ... ...anything, nothing offensive. When Gillette changed the product, besides the packaging, they also made it smell a little fruity, a hint of melon and I absolutely loved it. It made my skin smell really delicious and I really really liked these improvements on the shaving gel.
The gel foams up quite a lot and so I found that I only needed about three pea-sized blobs of gel for each leg. Having said that, I do have quite short legs so feel free to experiment ...

...so onto the shaving.
Gillette Satin Care comes in a range of smells all as equally sniffable, for the purpose of this review I am using Crystal Essence others in the range include Watermelon, Wild Berry and another one with a pink lid which name I forget. Crystal Essence smells fresh with a hint of light perfume and also contains silk which I can only imagine is for extra smoothness.
The whole range claims to be anti nicks and cuts yeah yeah I ... ...I will.

Satin Care comes in an aerosol the tin I am using is a silvery blue, with a blue top. Others in the range are green, purplely and pink I think this is so if you are in a rush you can pick the one you want by the colour of it’s top. I could however be wrong.

This gel has been formulated with aloe vera, to soothe the skin, and to help prevent those annoying nicks and cuts. I found that, for once, my skin did not become at all irritated after shaving, when using this product. I was also amazed at the fact that i no longer ended up with loads of cuts down my legs when i rushed to shave them.

...came across this stand with Gillette for Women new Venus razors on it, and the magical words (that nearly always ensure that the product in question finds its way into my trolley!!!) “Buy the razors and get the shaving gel free” now that alone doesn’t sound all that inviting does it? But if the words “Wild Berry” were added to that would you be tempted?? Why is it that food always does it?? Chocolate “flavour” ... ...need a new razor, I told myself (son #2 has ruined my old one..grr) and this was quite a good deal. I bought a pack of 4 extra blades too while I was there, which bumped the price up a bit. The actual razor was about £5 and the extra blades the same. The Gillette for Women Satin Care Moisture Rich Care comes in two flavours (that makes it sound edible!): wild berry, and flower twist. The standard size bottle is 200ml, but I have also seen a smaller tester size of 75ml. The 200ml bottle costs about £3, and is available from the usual stockists- I got mine from Superdrug.
The packaging is very attractive, and was what first drew me to the product. It is a silver container with a pink lid for the ... ...scents are really nice. The wild berry is fruity, whilst the flower twist is, surprisingly, flowery. They smell sweet and girly, without being overpowering.
The appearance of the gel is also pleasing, as they are really strong colours. You might say that the colour doesn't really matter, but I think nice touches like this are important!
The gel is easy to apply and froths up well. Even coverage is achievable, and with very little of the product ...

Gillette for women satin care (wild berry) - Is this like satin then?
Well for me it does seem to work and yes it leaves my skin smooth and not irritated. Costing in our local savers store £2.00 (savings had here as in the high street supermarkets/chemist store it costs nearer to the £3.00 mark). The container spray is a silver background with pink and purple berries displayed and text to describe the product.It also has a purple lid.The container ... ...and you are faced with a white push down nozzle. Now please aim it into your hand correctly as the jet stream is very powerful and unless you wish to have streaky coloured new decoration for your bathroom Then take note!
The scent is overpowering and can be smelt as soon as you remove the cap,but it is not unpleasant. I would not recommend any of the men to try pinching it though as they might get some very strange looks.

...I usually steal my husband's Gillette Series gel and therefore smell a bit masculine after my bath. I usually can't bring myself to actually buy shaving foam.
I use a Gillette Venus razor and was delighted by Sainsbury's offer of 4 Venus razors for £4.49 and a free 195g in 200 ml can of Satin Care Shaving Foam.I have not seen it being sold separately and so if you don't have a Venus razor then the offer is no use to you. I do hope you can buy it ... ...and smells accordingly fresh and melony.
It comes in a pump action aerosol -pretty colours - green and blue and the lid is easy to get off when in the bath and slippery.
You need very little of the green gel to lather up into white foam - about the size of a 1p in your palm. It claims to be anti Nicks and Cuts. In conjunction with aforementioned razor it is very good. I didn't cut or graze my legs.

...returning home I found that Gillette have gone into overdrive here with this product and it is available in moat pharmacies and supermarkets. The Wild berry gel seems a bit pricey at £2.95 (from Morrissons), but I am still using the same bottle after 2 months... and there's more!
It sounds a bit exaggerated to say it has transformed my life, but it certainly has changed my attitude towards shaving. At long last we have something that celebrates ...
