...moved onto to Craig’s razors Gillette Blue II, which were a big improvement, but then someone went and bought Craig a gift set including a Gillette Mach III, at that point he put his foot down and bought me my very own gift set which included a Gillette Venus razor.

But these shouldn’t really happen with this razor as it sports three blades for a closer shave which ...

Advantages: Easy, quick, very close shave, takes longer for hairs to grow back, no cutting or nicking Disadvantages: Replacement blades a bit pricey
Hairy legs just aren't attractive. No matter how much some of these 'new women' protest that it's natural and demand that we all bin wax, razors, depilatory creams, etc - it's just not going to happen!
- Waxing: too painful, too expensive
- Depilatory creams: Time-consuming, smelly
- Sugaring: I'd rather eat it
- Epilators: Only for the very stupid or very brave
So you can see, the best option for me is a razor! Before I bought the Venus, I ... ...painful nicks and were generally rubbish quality.
This might seem quite expensive, initially, at £5 for the razor and more for replacement blades, but trust me, it's an investment, and the best £5 you'll ever spend! If you're very conscious of how things look, the Venus, as well as blue, comes in pink and a limited-edition white.
It comes in one of those plastic capsule things which are hell to open - I broke two nails trying to open it, and ended ...

The Gillette For Women Venus Razor.
I, like most women, saw the adverts promising to make you feel like a goddess. Probably still like other women I thought it was just the latest in a long line of gimmicks, getting women to buy over priced shaving products, made especially for them. So for a while I continued to use my husband’s Wilkinson Sword.
Until I read someone’s opinion ... ...I was looking to buy a new razor, as the one I was using had bars on the blades. This I found made cleaning difficult, especially as I use shaving oil as opposed to foam or gel.
So, why do I think it’s the answer to every woman’s dreams? Well, okay it isn’t quite, but it’s close. Finally somebody has actually taken into account the needs of a woman when it comes to shaving, and that strangely enough those needs are not the ...

Gillette is running a series of commercials at the moment for a new razor that caught my eye and I thought I would try the Venus out.
400 million women in the world use a safety razor as their method of hair removal, myself included. In the UK only about 40% of women use a model of razor that is designed for a woman, which leaves a massive 60% using a razor designed for shaving the face and not legs and underarms (in other words they are nicking ... ...3.
So why are Gillette trying to convert the female population to a female razor. I think the answer comes when you compare the prices of the two razors. The mach 3 costs a reasonable £2.97 with four replacement cartridges costing £3.97. The Venus however costs a whopping £5.49 with the replacement cartridges costing £5.99.
Yes the colour and case are very nice Gillette but not worth an extra £2.52. I think when I run out of blades I shall be converting ...

Advantages: A smooth shave, lasts for ages so good value for money, aesthetically pleasing (but not pink!), indicator strip, NO CUT LEGS!!! Disadvantages: Still have to shave quite regularly so no better than most other wet razors, not portable.
I was quite annoyed when the Gilette Venus razor was launched. I had been in the dark ages for some time and had been using an original Gilette Sensor for women for a few years (during which time I had a brief flirtation with salon waxing and a slightly longer relationship with an epilator – that’s another story, told in one of my earlier ops!), and it was only recently that I had updated my shaving equipment and bought a Gilette Sensor Excel. I ... ...my first packet of blades before, much to my annoyance, the Venus was released. First of all I decided to wait a while before buying one, but on seeing it on special offer in Boots (and after high recommendations from my mother, a recent convert, via the Venus, to wet shaving!) I decided to succumb and purchased my Gilette Venus, which I have now been using for a few weeks.
With the initial purchase, you get the razor itself (i.e. the handle!), ...

I bought the venus razor for no pericular reason other than i needed a new one and this one was on offer at superdrug at the time. And boy am i glad that i decided to buy it! My pins have never been in such tip top condition!
For £5.79 i got a venus razor, holder, spare blade and a 75ml can of satin care shaving gel from superdrug. It was on special offer at the time. Normally it is £5.79 just for the razor and holder. The holder comes with an attachment ... ...your bath. Its very handy and opens up so that you can store your blades inside it. The actual razor has a slot on the front of the holder. Its very practical!
This little blue invention has been specially designed to revalutionise womens shaving experiences! Normally i knick and cut myself all over the place, using a disposable razor is pointless, one stroke and the blade has gone blunt! But this little baby works a treat and leaves your legs silky ...

...years ago I discovered the Gillette Venus. This has to be the best razor I have ever used. There are 4 females in my house, and we each have one and refuse to be parted from them.
The Venus comes in one of those difficult to open solid plastic bubbles. You are at far more risk of injury from opening the wretched thing than your pins will ever be from the razor! In desperation I attacked our latest one with the scissors in a stabbing motion and then ... ...this excellent little toy.
Gillette seem to have thought it out very carefully; there is a pivoting head so that it is easy to access the more awkward areas, such as knees and underarm pits and you don't get left with stragglers. I really cant bear it when you are out somewhere nice and you discover a stray hair poking out somewhere!
I shave in the shower since my unpleasant experience of shaving my bikini line in the bath. There I was, in our ...

...was so satisfied with the Gillette Mach 3 that he thought I'd like the ladies version. And, bless him, he was spot on!
First, the aesthetic comment: the Gillette Venus looks like a small turquoise lobster, but don't let that put you off. The handle is shaped so it's easy to hold, and has rubbery grips on the underside. It comes with it's own case/holder that can attach to the wall should you so desire, and also has storage for the individually wrapped ... ...so much better than the frightful green Sensor.
Performance-wise, this razor is fantastic! The blades can tilt at almost 90-degrees to the handle, which makes de-fuzzing knees and other knobbly bits an absolute doddle. The design of the blade cartridge means that you can rinse out any slightly longer bits of hair very easily - let's be honest, girls, if you're wearing thick tights you can go that little bit longer between sessions - which all works ...

...pleased to report that the Gillette Venus is definately worth the £5.99 it cost. It comes with 2 or 3 replacement heads (I think it was 3 - one of which was on the razor...), and a cool little wall unit you stick on the wall of the shower (getting it *off* the wall of my shower when I moved was quite another story!), and obviously, er, the razor itself. "But does it work?" I hear you cry. Well, of course it works!! This is a damn fine razor! It's ... ...a magic strip that tells you when the blade needs changing (although I'm not overly convinced as to whether this works or not), and special cushiony bits which (I think) kind of pull the skin taught (only a little bit) and up towards the razor so the hairs are cut incredibly close to the skin - closer than with any other razor I've tried. Now, if all this pulling skin towards the nasty bare razor blades malarkey sounds just a little too dangerous ...

WHAT IS GILLETTE FOR WOMEN VENUS RAZOR?
Gillette for Women Venus Razor (Venus) is a triple-blade hair-removal razor designed for the use of women.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
Venus is really designed well. It comes in several colours, including blue, green, pink, and white. I have the pink version.
The body of the razor is curved and has a rubber grip so it is easier to hold. It comes to a point and then slopes down again to where the head, blade ... ...is wide and white. It has blue cushioning around the sides for a softer shave, and a blue strip at the top. When the blue strip is faded or gone, you'll know it's time to change the razor. I really like the blue strip, because it prevents risk of being cut by a blunt razor.
There is also a convient push-off button positioned on the body of the razor. Click the button, and you can replace the blade easily.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The razor costs ...

The advert first interested me in this razor as it described the ultimate shave. I just had to give it a try, if I lost any more blood from cuts on my legs then I would surely become anemic! Advantages: Designed with women in mind. Intelligently designed razor head makes shaving curvy bodies much easier! The blades stay brilliantly sharp for ages! Disadvantages: The price can be off-putting, but trust me...it's worth it!
The day before my holiday, I did my usual trick and rampaged through Boots, armed with a full-loaded Advantage card, to get all those essential lotions and potions that a girl needs when she heads for the sun.
Halfway through the “Battle of Boots”, I was about to reach for my usual Sensor Excel replacement blades, when something glistened and glittered in the corner of my eye…..and there she was….Venus!
Not living in a cave, ... ...campaign, but had thus far been unconvinced of her charms. But lo and behold, there she stood, taunting me with promises of Goddess-like legs….. and extra Advantage points!
Transfixed, I reached forward and took hold of her, whisked her off to the till, and left Boots, (feeling a little disgruntled at the price I had just paid, but optimistic nonetheless!).
Later on that night we bathed together and fell in love.
