Advantages Advantages Graphics, sound gameplay, storyline

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

I am fairly new to the world of the PSP, but know enough about the world of gaming to understand what it takes to create a really great game. Now when it comes to third person action games, there has only ever been one for me. Never before did I think that anything could rival the resident evil series. That is, until I made one of the best purchases of my life. God of war is a series of games that had been making waves on standard consoles, and I thought that it would be a good place to start my PSP journey. The only title that has been released so far for the handheld, is chains of olympus ... more

Advantages Advantages Visually outstanding, Bloody Battles, Excellent Soundtrack

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too easy to be beaten could do with more puzzle like elements

THE SUMMARY This is one of the best titles available on the Sony PSP. God of War: Chains of Olympus has it all battles, blood, sex, and magic and are all of a superb standard. It is almost in my experience the best looking game ever produced for the PSP. THE STORY You play "Kratos" a General of the Spartan Army who was tormented by demons so pledged to serve the Gods of Olympus. When the Spartan city of Attica is set upon by the Persians you must defend it from the might of the Persian Army and a huge Basilisk, a beast of a creature at least 50 times bigger than Kratos. Once you have fought ... more

Advantages Advantages good addition to the series

    Disadvantages Disadvantages clunky controls!

At last a God of War game with Kratos the Spartan facing off with the persians! Hurrah! i wondered how long it would take, there's no end to the joy of taking out legions of persian minions with Kratos's whirly death blades! Set before the first God of War and the first title on the PSP, Ghost of sparta follows Kratos during his time as servant of the gods of Olympus, he is sent to Attica to fight off the persian invasion, after he slaughters there general takes out their army and fights off their HUGE Basilisk (excellent first boss as usual God of War!) he watches as the sun plummets from the ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing graphics, great gameplay

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dodgy camera, can get tedious if not quite sure what to do

Wow just look at those graphics! This is a great 3rd peron action game that is a bit different and more interesting than most. The gameplay and controls take a little getting used to but you soon find yourself slaying mythical creatures by the dozen! You must explore very interactive 3d levels while defeating enemies and solving puzzles. You collect red blue and green orbs to restore health, magic and to spend on upgrading and learning new movess. These moves are performed by carrying out a set button sequence during battle. Some of these have truly spectacular consequences. The gameplay is ... more

Advantages Advantages story, blood and gore

Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit short, and recycles gameplay from last two games

NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST TWO GAMES, BUT STILL ENJOYABLE. God of War Chain of Olympus takes place before the first game explaining what Kratos was doing for the Gods of Olympus. When the world plunges into darkness Kratos is forced to choose between his own personal redemption or saving the world of man and gods from destruction, it does explain a few things about parts of the game that you never heard or seen in God of War 1 and 2. Gameplay= feels the same as the last games but all pushed into one handheld. I enjoyed reaction attacks by grapping enemies and slamming them into dust, best part ... more

Slight spoilers for God of War 2 are coming, but seeing as GoW3 picks up directly after the end of that game, it can't be helped. It begins with the titans scaling Mount Olympus, all trying to get to Zeus, the king of the gods. Kratos is hitching a ride on the back of Earth titan Gaia, as he too tries to reach the god of the sky and thunder. Poseidon, god of the sea, is sent down from the top of Mount Olympus to deal with Gaia and the in-tow Kratos, and from then on you're set for 10 hours of carnage, mayhem and Greek mythology and melodrama. Following the formula laid down by Nintendo's ... more
