    ~ ~ I don’t know about the rest of you, but the search engine of choice of the ‘mad cabbie’ is most definitely Google. Oh, I admit that when I first started surfing the Web back in the mid-1990’s, I toyed and played with other search engines for a while, such as Altavista and Yahoo. But really, when it comes to speed of use, user friendliness, and the accuracy and relevance of search results, the simple fact is that there isn’t another search engine that even comes close to Google.     The Google toolbar is a small download available from the well-loved speedy searcher, www.google.co.uk, then head for Google Toolbar at the bottom of the page. Simply select to download and the program seamlessly downloads and installs itself as a plug in to Internet Explorer. At this stage I should say that the toolbar requires IE5 or later, and any Microsoft OS in order to work. No information is available to suggest that a Mac version will arrive.     I got the Google toolbar when I heard that it had a pop-up blocker, this was quite a long time ago so there weren’t as many pop-ups then. But now this toolbar is fabulous, it blocks around 50 a day, which is brilliant and not only does it have a pop-up blocker, it also has a whole host of other features.     This is my second review on a Google product; my first being on Google Earth. I like almost all off Google's products and I am a fan of Google in general. What appeals to me about Google is that most products are simple, clean and free. The Google toolbar is no different.     The Google tool bar is a very simple browser enhancment that allows you to search the web with Google from any web location. One of the great uses for the tool bar it to search within a specific website. Because of the sheer size of the Google index it is almost certain that Google will have information about the site you are on at any time.     For a long time I have been trying to find a pop-up blocker that works really well and that stops the majority of pop-ups. I have tried many programs with not much success, until I was introduced to the Google Toolbar. The Google Toolbar isn't just a pop-up blocker, it also has a search facility which obviously uses the Google search engine. Other facilities that the Google Toolbar has are things like Current News, where it will take you to Google News for latest up-to-date news articles. It also has an Autofill option.     I know its not an official Google Toolbar but I thought it needs a mention. It is basically the same as the IE version but it works with Firefox which is a better web browser overall. You have special searches to search your Gmail account and usuals such as web and images. You also have the I'm feeling lucky search. The option to highlight the seaarched words is still there with an extra feature which is really useful. Basically it is the opposite.     There are many times when I install softwares, I was asked whether to install Google ToolBar. I would normally choose no as I didn't want to fill many things to my fabric IE browser. Just few days ago, a friend recommended me to install Google Toolbar due to a number of annoying popups. I did and I found it is a great toolkit when we surf on the internet. It is easy to get and install. You can download it free from http://toolbar.google.com, then just follow the instruction to install. That's very simple.     Disadvantages Disadvantages can only be used with internet explorer

    The one thing i like best with this toolbar is the site search option, if you are on a website instead of spending a while using the sites own navigation and menus you can get straight to what your looking for by typing it in the search box and using site search button. Another good option with this toolbar is that it can be used to block pop up.... so far i have blocked 489 pop ups. It is also very easy to search for images or news with the toolbar, as you just type in what your looking for and press the appropriate button.
