Picture the scene: It is 4am on a cloudless spring morning. Temp 16oC and dropping.... Earlier that evening, when you put your precious baby in her cot at 7pm, the sun had just gone down and the temperature was warm and comfortable. She has on her pink all in one suit and a couple of blankets. At 10pm, you put your head around the nursery door and precious is now turned on her front, bum in the air, fast asleep. You pull the blankets back over her and smile as you realise she was so sound asleep that she did not realise she had kicked her blankets off...... It is now 4.01am. Temp 15oC and ... more

Advantages Advantages Keeps baby warm and safe as can't kick blankets off or go under covers.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hands can get cold.

As some of you might know I recently bought my daughter of three and a half months two grobags. Well, they are so excellent I have just ordered two more. Ever since my daughter was born she slept in her carry cot and never her cot. Every time I tried to settle her in her cot she would wake up about ten minutes later screaming - normally because she had either kicked the blankets off and was cold or she had kicked them over her head and was getting too hot. As she became more active the blankets began to get launched out of her carry cot as well and I became a nervous wreck forever checking ... more

Advantages Advantages Baby can't kick off the covers which means more sleep for parents - YIPPEE

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite hard to get hold of in High Street stores

When my brother first gave me a baby sleeping bag as a gift when my son was about 3 months old I thought be was having a bit of a laugh - Sleeping bags, for babies, well it just seems odd. But it was the middle of Winter at the time and I was will to try anything to get a little more sleep. So come bedtime I bagged up my bundle of fun and laid him down in his cot and he slept like a babe, all night and from that day on I was converted. So mums I urge you get rid of those cot blankets this really is the way forward, they cant wriggle under them, they cant kick them off which mean baby is safe ... more

Advantages Advantages No worries about them kicking covers off

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that can think of

My little snug bug is a cute one who is now 3 months old. A friend gave me a gro bag to save me buying but I have got another one as when one is in the wash I can use the other one. The Grobag makers have won several gold mother and baby awards for this product and sold millions of them. The Grobag came about after a couple started a family and discovered a baby sleeping bag abroad so they changed the name and started their own company selling Grobags, I love a good success story like that. Now when a baby goes into the cot to start sleeping you are told how important it is to lay them at the ... more

The Grobag this has to be the best invention on the market, I only wish that I had found them as soon as my daughter had been born, she was about 6 months when I purchased the first one. To explain, the grobag is like a mini sleeping bag, for babies and toddlers, it fastens over the shoulders, similar to a dungaree fastening, would be the best way to describe it, with additional zips which go around the side and the bottom of the bag. My daughter was a fidget from day one, and when she went into her cot, she was 10 weeks old, and I had been advised to use the traditional method of putting the ... more

Advantages Advantages Baby doen't wake up in night cold, a full night sleep for all

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none?

Although “Grobag” is more a word to consider with growing tomatoes than with a cute baby the Grobag is certainly a fantastic invention. A Grobag is a sleeping bag type thing for babies in place of their sheets and blankets. The sleeping bag is shaped, wider at the bottom and narrower at the top. The top has an opening on each side for arms to go through and an opening for babies’ head with poppers that come over the top of the bag to create what I suppose looks like the baby is wearing a sleeveless t-shirt with a bag attached! This, I imagine makes the sleeping bag safe for little babies from ... more

Advantages Advantages Baby stays snug and warm all night

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite expensive

As a typical paranoid new parent I spent the first few weeks convinced that my little one would either freeze in the middle of the night or end up under the blankets; not to mention deciding on how many blankets were needed in the first place. Then I discovered grobags and my nights changed. Little one was safely zipped up in his little bag ready to sleep through the night. He obviously picked up on my relaxed state and believe it or not has been sleeping through the night (with a few teething problems!) since 5 weeks old. These bags are great. As I mentioned earlier there is no need for ... more

    Advantages Advantages safe,comfy,good value

Disadvantages Disadvantages not easy to get everywhere

I first read about grobag in Mother and baby magazine and although my baby was happy initially with he blackets i was a bit paranoid(as we parents are)about the room temp and how many layers she had,if she was going to slip under blankets and so on...i was constantly feeling her neck taking off/adding layers tucking in ,re tucking in ,checking her feet were at the bottom of cot ..etc...I did say i was paranoid! Then i remembered the advert i saw for grobag and checked out their website(www.grobag.co.uk).I thought for the safety aspect alone they were worth looking at,and liking the idea of ... more

Advantages Advantages Baby cant get tangled up in it, or crawl down under it.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I purchased a 1.0 tog Grobag little bear sleeping bag from Argos for the price of £22.99. I purchased it before we knew we were having a little boy so bought a neutral, cream one, it has a little bear embroidered on the front at the top. These baby sleeping bags are an ingenious invention, as the baby cannot get into it or get tangled up in it as they can with blankets or sheets. My number 1 fear was that my son would wriggle down under blankets and not be able to get back out, so this sleeping bag ensures that I get a good nights sleep without worrying about him!! The sleeping bag is 75cm ... more

Advantages Advantages No worry about blankets over baby's head

Disadvantages Disadvantages No grobag for age 7+

I just love grobags. They eliminate the dangers associated with babies smothering under blankets. When they are in their snug little grobag, not only do they look mega cute, but you also know they are safe. I love the fact that you don't need to put your baby in the feet to foot position at the bottom of the bed, which is especially useful if using a bedside cot ( as a breastfeeding mother does not want to feed half way down her bed). It also ensures that baby won't get cold when feeding. I use to worry if my baby was too warm or too cold. I would spend half the night feeling my baby and ... more
