    I thought this company sounded good ,books for children ,i`ve got two of them a 14 yr old and a 5 yr old . I had some Disney books for my daughter off off of them great ,nice books ,but..... Then they phoned me again , bobbi ,thats my daughter ,is now 5 yrs old ,would she like some Barbi books, they come in a set of 30, we` will send you 2 if you don`t like them you can keep the 1st one and send the other one back ,ok I said i`ll have a look ,being`s as my daughters well into Barbi . what did they send me ,30 books the whole set, as it turns out they were very nice books , too old for my 5 yr ... more

    I have been dealing with Grolier for years. My children love the books. We just started with the first step collection. Teaching my son to read with these books is great. I find the prices very cheap compared to going to book stores. When we recieved the disney collection , we got a clock and a pack sack. these are things my son still uses and hes is almost 3. He has been using the bag for over a year and the clock we use to let him know what part of the day comes next. On the clock there are animals so it easy for him to tell the so called Time.     I have recently had a little girl, and throughout my pregnancy I received sample packs from the Bounty baby club. They have since passed on my information to the Grolier book club company, who have sent me a pack of books, a stand for them, a folder and some audio books. Considering Grolier haven't even contacted me, I took this to be a little bit of a liberty. When I opened the pack, there was then an invoice that said two of the books were free, along with their corresponding audio book, and the others would cost £9.49.     I bought this fantastic set of books for my preschool children to give them a head start with the alphabet, reading, numbers and maths. The set comprises My first book, 24 A - Z books (A-W have their own book and XYZ is combined into one book) which all have great illustrations, show different things begining with that letter and allows for the different pronounciations. Also there are 10 1-10 books again each book focuses on the different number featured, so there are 35 books in total. Each cost £4.99.     Having been with Grolier for 10 yrs I have had very few problems. People need to listen carefully to the offer and READ the accompanying letters. Their returns are free if you ring for a label/courier. Sometimes you need to buy the set, sometimes you can buy individual books. Most people hear the word FREE and miss everything else, this is because thats all they want, free stuff, and thats why they miss the rest of the offer details. As with any returns for ANYTHING you should always keep your receipt, sometimes things DO go missing from the post office. Books ... more

    I have not had a bad time with Grolier, must be one of the few. Have ordered an A-Z book set and it was very good, but slightly pricey. Came with extra free books and flash cards too. Have also ordered Disney calendars from them and they come with stickers, a certificate and an A4 size booklet fairly good value for money. I have also got the year books from them and have done since my son was born in1999 as a keepsake for him, he really enjoys them and looks at them frequently.

    I got hooked into buying books from these from my daughter. You get 2 sent to you at a time and it costs just £8.98. Not bad! Well thats what I thought when I first joined. To see my daughters face when they come through the post box was great but then came the payments. At first it was easy then they would call and say that there was a special offer and would you like it to be sent to you on trial. It just seems like you had no option but to say yes. I started getting the Princess books and now I have cancelled the rest of my account and am just paying off for the Princess books. They even ... more

    If anyone is planning legal action against them i will join you in that. I am so sick of receiving bills for things I havent bought, being hounded for payments of items i have already sent back, etc. I'm suprised this company still exists with the amount of complains I've managed to find when researching this company! Something must be done.

    My little boy is absolutely mad on the new Cars Movie from Disney / Pixar. When we saw the offer of a free book on a McDonalds Happy Meal box, my wife rang the number, gave a few details and was told the book would be in the post. When the parcel arrived, she was surprised to find she had joined the Disney Book club, which is operated by Grolier.com. In the parcel was also a number of other books, some of which she was either expected to pay for, or return at her cost.     Browsing through free stuff sites I came across and advertisement for free disney books for children. When I followed the link I came onto the grolier website. Sure enough, it said that I could order free disney books as long as I became a member, and was only obliged to buy a certain number of books over the year. I thought this reasonable to get free books for my partners daughter. I waited and I waited and no books were received. Eventually I gave up, not worrying because I had not paid anything.
