Advantages: Fantastic reader for young children!! Disadvantages: Can be exaggerated in places, but it is for children!
Groosham Grange could be seen by some people as a bit odd, but once you get past that you really start to become emersed in the story.
The story begins with a boy called David who lives with his quite wealthy family .
When they discover that he has been expelled from his posh public school, they go mad (understatement of the year! :) ). Suddenly, out of the blue, Davids father receives a letter from a mysterious public school on a remote island ... ...curricular activities. When David reaches Groosham Grange through a range of abnormal methods, he discovers that this place is all a bit weird, and when people arrive they have to wear black rings and are asked to sign their names in blood on the register on their arrival. This book really catches the imagination of younger children, and these type of cliffhangers encourage the reader to continue over the next page and discover what happens next. ...

Advantages: Excellent Characters, storyline and descriptions Disadvantages: It's difficult to put down!
This book is a must read for all children, but not when they are too young! But be warned, once they start reading they'll be hooked!
I first read this book at the age of ten and instantly prompted my sister to do the same. My sister has never really been one for reading, until she read this, now she can't stop! This book has one of those great storylines which although you know it's been made up, does seem in places possible. O.K, so maybe the ... ...running over the mother, but it had me laughing for days!

This book is comedy mixed with horror for children. It is basically a book about a young boy who is sent away to boarding school but it is not what it seems. It is a plot about his struggle to get out of the school ..........alive!!!!!!!! , while his school"companions" and ""teachers" do their best to keep him forever!
This book was very, very funny and kept me hooked until the VERY last page. I would recommend this book for 8 to 12 year olds and ... ...the book has been voted one of the funniest of the year. Anthony Horowitz is a fresh new author who is bringing young childrens imaginations to life! If you do enjoy this story than I highly recommend his other books including "The Switch" and "Granny". ...
