Advantages: Subtly sensuousness, irresistible, exotic Disadvantages: The top of the bottle ALWAYS seems to break
...trying Shalimar at your local Guerlain counter, may I suggest you ask for it to be sprayed on and then wait, wait, wait. Shalimar contains few stabilisers and therefore changes depending on the skin chemistry of the wearer. It is worth wearing it overnight and not making a decision until the next morning, as to whether this is for you.
Shalimar has been manufactured for about 100 years now and is not a market leader. It is therefore often possible ... ...high street. Inspite of its lack of stabilisers, it lasts very well in the sealed bottle (many years, in fact). However, if it is for you, that bottle will be emptied quite quickly.
And finally a personal hint: if you are going to be away from your man, spray just the tiniest amount onto his pillow, into his tower...and he will be subtly reminded of you while you are away.
A totally sensual, bewitching fragrance. ...

Advantages: Im passionate about it Disadvantages: ...
I think I am a quite modern girl, net-addicted and stuff like that, but in perfume Im the most classical and grandma-like you could imagine.
I just dont understand (and i dont like) the smelling stuff its coming to the market in these days. The most of them smells like cleaning products or so...
(But I love Azuree Soleil, from Estee Lauder, launched in limited edition last year, but I cant find it anymore. If anybody knows were I can find it...)
... ...I think the most recent that Im addicted its Coco, launched in the end of the 70s, but my favourite is, no doubt, Shalimar.
I think the first time I sniff it I was around 18 years old, but I only gain one when I made 22 or 23, dont remember. Not much money in student ages, you know...
I love it from the first sniff. Its a mystical thing: it makes me travel to castles and rich woods and velvet curtains, candle lights and long dresses. Travelling ...

Advantages: Light oriental fragrance with a hint of vanilla Disadvantages: None
...the way with Shalimar, as Guerlain also offers things like shower gel, soap, body lotion, and even a perfumed deodorant stick all with the seductive Shalimar fragrance. I also find that I can wear Shalimar all year round, it's not tied to any season (I like to wear citrus scents only during summer and heavier oriental ones during the colder months). I've always had Shalimar on my fragrance tray and I'm sure you'd enjoy it also. ...

Shalimar was created by Jacques Guerlain in 1925, as a tribute to the legendary love story more
between Emperor SHAHJAHAN and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Before he became emperor his name was Prince Khurram. According to the legend, twenty- year-old Prince Khurram met a young girl, named Arjumand Banu at the bazaar where her family worked. Mesmerized by her beauty, after becoming emperor, he made her his wife as Mumtaz Mahal, meaning the "Jewel of the Palace". After the wedding ,the prince and Mumtaz were inseparable, in war and in peace. She had given 13 children to Shahjahan and died during the birth of their 14th child at the age of 39. Her death devastated Shah Jahan and had built Taj Mahal in memory of his wife and their undying love. Shalimar is named after The Gardens of Shalimar. It was Mumtazs favorite garden. Shalimar is one of the best selling perfumes ever and its magic is undeniable. Perfume is composed of citrus notes; lemon and bergamot, jasmine, may rose, opoponax, Tonka bean, vanilla, iris, Peru balsam and gray amber. Coolness of the citrus notes leads to floral heart ending with a warm and luxurious trail.
