Advantages: Great graphics, can use your xbox avatar, great songs, Disadvantages: Sore hands when you play it for hours and hours
I've been a fan of Guitar Hero for a while now, so when I heard they were releasing a new one I couldn't wait for it to come out. I did however have a few doubts after buying Guitar Hero Hits, because I didn't find this game the best, but last week I went ahead and bought 5. I am glad I did as it really is a great game for all ages. The biggest difference with this one is that you can now play as your xbox avatar. I think this is a great idea, because ... ...you pick characters from previous guitar heroes and customize the clothes. Another advantage is it lets you import your world tour downloadable content straight into the game. As well as creating and mixing your own songs to play, in the studio and GHMIX. The big thing I like about this game is it has 85 songs by 83 different artists. This really does keep you busy for hours, and the song choices are great. Although I did find a few of the songs ...

...it difficult writing reviews for guitar hero/rock band games because while its a winning format of which i am a massive fan I always come back to comparing it to the star in the crown Guitar hero 3 (read my previous review) and while many things change in my mind most of it is just jumped up download content, yes it gets new aspects of gameplay, some good, some bad but in essence if you strip it back to the bare bones, its just new tracks to play, ... ...can whole heartedly say that guitar hero has needed for a long time to make it more attractive to the casual gamer. THE BAD ======= The bad section i am going to spare exclusively for my views on the characters, one thing which is definatly a MISS in this outing. I have never considered the graphics or characters and important aspect of the guitar hero games, in my opinion the game would be damaged very little if it were to be only the fretboard ...

Advantages: Great variety of difficulties, continually improving graphics, great choices of songs Disadvantages: Some songs are just too hard! Also some songs are very unknown however could be seen as a plus
One of my favourite games, Guitar Hero is thoroughly enjoyable for all members of the family. I feel that this is an addictive game and have recently found that the effect of playing amazing songs can be further enhanced by wearing headphones that block out surrounding sounds. It may sound silly but you do actually feel as though you are playing at your own private gig! The graphics seem to improve with every version on Guitar Hero and i enjoy the ... ...star power you get to enjoy 'band moments' which act as a great adrenalin boost! Despite recent media and celebrity squabbles over the immortalisation of Kurt Cobain into a playable character I feel that it is a great honour for customers to play as the Grunge great and think it is a kind of rock canonization. Brilliant game, brilliant songs... I remain hopeful that one day I WILL play on the expert level!! ...
