HIPP organic milk - milky goodness!

AdvantagesOrganic, not too expensive, apparently tasty!

DisadvantagesPackaging lets it down

"...we would therefore try the HIPP organic milk. There are 3 milks: "Infant Milk", to use from birth, "Follow-on" milk for 6 months onwards and "Growing Up" milk for toddlers from about 10 months onwards. Our son is 19 months old and is therefore now on the "Growing Up" milk. He also has full fat cows' milk sometimes, but the toddler milk powder is great to take when we're out for the day and "real" milk would go sour. We also use formula rather than ..." Read review

Hipp Hipp Hooray

AdvantagesHappy baby

DisadvantagesPackaging

"...my local Tesco store that Hipp organic was cheaper than the other leading brands so I thought I cant go wrong - a cheaper product which has to be better as it's organic. It was certainly the best choice I could have made as my irritable, unsettled, sickly, windy baby turned almost instantly into an angelic, contented baby who sleeps through the night and is a pleasure to have around in the daytime. Another reason I think this milk must be good ..." Read review

Only organic follow-on widely available

AdvantagesOrganic, widely available

Disadvantageshassle and mess

"...for babies under 1. I found Hipp Organic follow on the easiest to get hold of - supermarkets, chemists, etc. During my usage they thankfully changed the formula, I strongly recommend people only buy the boxes flashed 'NEW - EASIER TO MIX'! THe old formula is like mixing sand and water, a total pain. The only way I could do it was seal it in a bottle and shake vigorously! (experienced bottle-feeding Mums are probably better at this). The new product ..." Read review

HIPP ??? no thanks

Advantagesorganic

Disadvantageseverything

"...new?) so we bought the HIPP variety instead. The fact that it was organic really didn't come in to the decision it was the only 450g brand they had so we bought it. It comes in a box and is foil packed inside and this is a very inconvenient packaging method as its hard to scoop the milk out of the foil in the box and you cant take it out as you'll never get it back in and it doesn't help that the scoop is so long you get it stuck on the side ..." Hipp is hip

AdvantagesLoved by my baby

DisadvantagesNone Whatsoever

"I brought my baby up on Hipp, first the organic first milk, then the organic follow-on milk, as I was unable to breastfeed. The health visitor, having seen my babies nappy (full) thought I had started breastfeeding, upon the premise that what was in the nappy did not look like the product of anything else. So there's the affirmation that it's good stuff, I think. When I bought it, the first milk was 'for hungry babies' and was considerably thicker ..." Read review

My LO is happy again!

AdvantagesEverything! My baby is now happy and content.

DisadvantagesNone. I love it!

"...desperate for her. I researched Hipp Infant Milk online and thought it was worth a go as most people rated it highly. This is quite possibly the best thing I could have ever done for her! Within a day or 2 her nappies were much more pleasant in all aspects, she was no longer straining or pulling her legs up, no longer sick after being fed, settled so much easier and seemed much happier all round. The milk powder looks very different to Cow and Gate ..." Read review

Hipp Hipp Hooray

AdvantagesOrganic, reasonably priced, accessible

DisadvantagesNone really, except some of the products are a bit too sweet so we avoid those

"...to read others' experiences of Hipp milk powder and how anxious these women are that they're doing something different from everyone else. They're terrified that those people who don't understand the benefits of organic food would disapprove of them. Perhaps they haven't understood the chemicals and hormones that are in non-organic milk, or the pus content due to constantly suffering cows from mastitis which must make its way into these so popular ..." Great for delicate tummies!

AdvantagesEasy to use, gentle, fantastic

DisadvantagesMidwives seem to be scared of it! Difficult to find suppliers

"...dad both have food allergies... Hipp organic really stood out to me as different to the everyday milks such as SMA Aptimil and Cow & Gate, not just because it's organic! They boast that it is a gentle and highly nutritious formula. I decided that baby would use this right from the start but a long stay in hospital meant that the midwives had control... They seemed very suspicious of why I'd chosen Hipp and said I had to use their milks for hygiene ..." Read review

Do the milk shake...

AdvantagesGood price, comes in 2 foil sachets

DisadvantagesNot resealable

"...received a sample sachet of Hipp organic baby milk. I had already tried my baby with Hipp organic baby rice and the mashed potato with rosemary, both of which he had loved, so I thought I would try this milk. It was nothing to do with it being organic. I used the sachet to make up 2 small bottles, both of which he loved and drank up without any problems! So next time I was shopping I bought the box of Hipp organic follow on milk. It comes in a 900g ..." Read review

Wouldn't buy anything else

AdvantagesOrganic

DisadvantagesNone

"...first son but was recommended Hipp Organic when I started to formula feed my second son. After using it I would never use anything else now. It mixed well in warm water but not so well in cold. I didn't find this a problem just had to shake it for longer to get it to mix in cold water. It actually looked like milk and didn't smell awful like the other formulas I had tried. My son loved it and I tasted it, as you do, and it was not bad unlike others. The ..." Read review

Quick review of Hipp Baby Milk

"I used Hipp Organic as I could not breast feed my son, I only use it now he is on one bottle a day but I was really stasified with it. My son seemed to enjoy it and I thought it looked more like milk that any of the other brands we had tried.

HIPP ORGANIC FOLLOW ON FORMULA MILK - MESSY

AdvantagesNONE

DisadvantagesEVERYTHING, STICKY, LUMPY, SMELLY!

"...would try this one the HIPP ORGANIC FOLLOW ON FOMULA MILK, but its probably the worst MISTAKE that i could of ever made. I bought it from tesco's for only £2.99. I thought what would be the worst thing that happened if she didn't like the taste, or it gave her a nasty bum but no it was more than just that it was horrible to make up the mixture. I would stand there shaking the bottles for hours or so it would feel, No matter how much you shake or ..." Read review

Hipp's organic goodness is difficult to get out

Advantagesorganic

Disadvantagesawkward packaging

"I bought Hipp Organic formula milk because it was no more expensive than other formula brands and it was organic. Of course it can't match breast milk exactly but I do admit being attracted to the fact that it was organic. I found Hipp Organic in Tesco's so I guess it is quite widely available. It is very easy to remember how much powder to add to water, as it's one scoop to one fl.oz and it dissolves pretty much instantly. The only problem is ..." Read review

Quick review of Hipp Baby Milk

"I dont understand the problems that people are having with the packaging. Just tip it into an old clean baby milk tin, or a tupperware box, simple! Part of the point of buying organic for me is not just the final product, it is that there is likely to be less packaging waste, and this is the case with this Hipp baby milk. I think its a fantastic product, and my 11 month is thriving on it.

HIPP organic First Infant formula milk

AdvantagesOrganic, easy to use

DisadvantagesFiddly packets

"I've been using HIPP organic First Infant milk for my daughter since she was 3 days old (now 5 months). I'm very happy with it. I've found it easy to make up, and my daughter seems to like it and is growing well. I've not thought that her nappies are any more unpleasant than I'd expect! The milk also smells much nicer than the SMA Gold she tried once. As it is also cheaper than some other brands if bought in Tesco or Sainsburys I cannot see a downside ..." Read review
