Advantages Advantages Reasonable cost cartridges available. Good quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Large. No network adapter.

I have owned this printer for a few months now and I am very happy with it. I wouldn't normally recommend HP since other brands are often cheaper. Often, they are identical models too, Canon have made a lot of printers for HP in the past. This time was different, the HP was the cheapest colour laser I could find where the cartridge prices were also reasonable. Being a laser printer, these do take drums as well as toner cartridges. All laser printers do, but the cartridges for this one come together with the drum. This means to the end user, you only need to change 4 toner cartridges, one for ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great Quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages NOT WITH VISTA

I am writing a review on the hp 1600 printer. I use this colour printer regulary in my work, and i have found it to be excellent. Its a business printer so i am not sure what it cost - but looking online i would estimate: £140 from the HP Website What it looks like: It sits quite upright but with a gently curved front panel and a completely flat top. Coloured in beige, light and slate grey, the printer has a minimal control panel of just four buttons, two LED indicators and a 16-character LCD display. The display is hard to read, as it's partly in the shadow of its surround and, our pet gripe ... more

    Advantages Advantages Crisp quality printing

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit slow

We've had this in our office now for just under a couple of months, it was bought to replace an older printer which was mis feeding and eating paper by the reem nearly! It was very easy and quick to install onto our network with no outside assistance as it comes with a driver ( this includes instructions about manual duplexing and general use), it also comes with HP toolbox software which is mainly concerned with consumables (toner cartridges etc). On that note, it requires 4 different toner cartridges which is pretty standard for this quality of machine which are easily installed a the front ... more

Advantages Advantages Prints Fast, Good Quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cannot print on 110lb cardstock

I have had my HP Laserjet 1600 for a couple of months now and at first I wasn't to pleased with the colour quality, but after it got broken in it started getting better. I use it quite a bit, sometimes printing 500 sheets a day, so it seems to stand up to the work load that I put it through. One drawback to the HP Laserjet 1600 is if you're printing card stock it cannot print on 110 lb paper. I should have checked into this before purchasing it but I didn't. It seems to do 67lb card stock well through. All in all I would say for the price of the unit it is a great printer and serves it's ... more

Advantages Advantages High speed, easy to use, clear pictures and text, affordable

Disadvantages Disadvantages It has no automatic duplexing

In my opinion this is a very affordable product and I've never looked back after buying this printer. I had an inkjet printer for about 10 years and it resulted in expensive running costs. Although inkjet printers are cheaper than laser printers the inkjets have much higher running costs. The HP Colour Laserjet 1600 is a printer which prints fast exceptional quality whether you print in black and white or colour. The text is very sharp and the pictures are of brilliant quality even the photos are very clear and all the colours are vibrant. This printer is extremely easy to use and it's ... more

Advantages Advantages Great price/quality ratio, good quality pictures, reliable.

Disadvantages Disadvantages no automatic both sides print

This is a very reliable printer which I use in my office. It is relatively cheap and it prints in good quality. It is also reliable, I'm using it for more than year now and it has never let me down, apart from the moment when I tried to use non-original toner (it started to overuse it and the paper looked 'dirty'). Unfortunately the replacement of toner is quite expensive, but hey, it is a standard with laser printers. Its biggest disadvantage is lack of automatic both sides print, one has to place prints back in to the tray manually to get it printed this way. Anyway it is a good printer that ... more
